Wild at heart

Scott knew she was right. He should have said literally anything. But he hadn’t. And why? He and Raine had been friends for a long time, they had never had issues with communication but now things were serious. “Raine-” Scott jogged after her, taking her by her hand before she could get in her car to turn her back. “I’m sorry. I’m so sorry. I should have said something, I was a dick for slipping out. I just.. I’m out of practice with this. And I really like you, but things are so serious and the last time I had someone in my life and Molly’s, they broke her heart. Lisa left me, she left Molly, and now.. I’m terrified. And that’s no excuse, but it’s the truth.” 

She just wanted to disappear. There was absolutely no reason for her to feel such embarrassment but she did. This all reminded her of why she strayed from dating in the first place. It was all too complicated and a sure way to end up on the couch nursing her wounded heart with a pint of ice cream at the end of the night. Just as Raine was about to enter her car she feels Scott’s hand in hers causing those oh-so-familiar butterflies to return, though she refuses to meet his eyes. “Scott, you don’t have to explain…” The woman protests but continues to listen. It made sense, sure, but did she really come off as the type to just disappear? “I would never…” She manages to get out, her gaze just barely meeting his. “I care about you and Molly. Even if…whatever this is didn’t work I’d still be around.”

“If it doesn’t sound right coming out of your mouth, don’t say it,” Kai shrugged her shoulders and took a step back with a smile that showed her sadness. “It’s okay, J.. It’s fine. I’m not going to ask you to be something you’re not and you don’t want to be. But I’m not just another one of those girls.” Kai’s tone was soft and playful like it always was even if she let her fingers fiddled with the gem piercing her upper lip in her cupids bow to distract herself from how her hands trembled. Hands that never had a shake to them until now when he was saying he couldn’t do this, couldn’t seem to stop. The first guy in a long time that had made her heart skip, and he turned out to be like all the rest of them. Normally this shop was a safe place for her, but now it felt like a prison.. All she wanted to do was run away and hide. But she’d never let that show, certainly not to him. “You know I’d do anything for you if you asked. I’d lie for you, I’d hide you, I’d give you an alibi, I’d light a fucking fire, I’d hit someone with my fucking car if you asked me to, but what I won’t do is be a booty call whenever you decide you want me, I’m not disposable, I’m not a side bitch. Sorry, hun. That’s now how I do things.”

He was a man of action, never really one for words and talking things out so it didn’t surprise him that this was going so badly despite his effort. Each passing second added to the frustration of his words not coming across how he needed them to. Kai takes a step back but Jesse is quick to close the space, pulling her close with his hands firmly placed on either side of her waist and giving a shake of his head. “You’ve never been a side anything, Kai.” He corrected, dark brown eyes stern yet soft. “I don’t fucking know when things changed because I tried to ignore it. I avoid relationships like the goddamn plague because I can’t do feelings.” He pauses, giving himself the opportunity to think of his next string of words before it all goes left - again.”I can’t avoid the shit with you and as aggravating as it is, I don’t wanna’ avoid them. You’re always in my fuckin’ head and I need more than that.”

Was this happening? Tico had resisted telling her he loved her for so long and now.. Hazel eyes widened when she heard him whisper. Maybe on other occasions she would have asked him to repeat himself so that she could be sure. But when she looked up at him again and saw that little smile, her heart started to race. “Let’s go. Let’s get married.” They’d have to have another wedding, one for her very traditional, very large Barcelonan family. She would have her big princess dress and her special day later. But life was short in his line of work. Kaylee didn’t want to wait to have his name. “Wait.. Are you sure? Are you serious? I swear if you’re teasing me right now I’ll be so mad at you.” 

Tico watched Kaylee’s face and it was everything he hoped to see after saying something others would think is crazy. The biker smiles widely, having no problem in making his wants clear. “Babe I’ve never been more serious. I want this with you and I don’t wanna’ wait if I don’t have to.” He carefully moves a sleeping Chorizo from his lap and onto the folded blanket in front of them, his hands then taking Kaylee’s, his brown eyes being the most sincere. “Marry me…” 

Kaylee giggled as she rested her head on his shoulder, holding her hand up that certainly wasn’t beautiful. Sher had rough knuckles covered with scars from how split over and over. But she could still picture a ring there. “And then I’ll be able to tell you yes a thousand times and kiss you until we can’t breathe,” The brunette lowered her hand to his thigh and tilted her head to she could look up at him with the hint of the smile she would give him when he did ask her. “Mi rey.. You’re the most protective man I know.. And if you’d do anything for your family, if you love me and love our little one, you’ll be an amazing papa,” The hearts in her eyes were so very real. “No puedo esperar para formar una familia contigo. Podríamos tratar de hacer un bebé hoy y sería feliz.” 

“Ay, don’t tempt me. I’d be down to try whenever.” He assures. “I already love you and them, future them.” The corners of his mouth tick upwards. They sit there in a comfortable silence, him thinking about all that could be. “Let's do it…” He says in almost a whisper. “Let's get married. Right now.” Maybe he was just basking in the moment but there was nothing he wanted more than to give her his last name, start a family - a life together. 

Papa seems to have softened the man, which touched a little on a conversation they hadn’t had. It was nice to see him finally give him and to see Chorizo nuzzle his head without hesitation into the man and his offered hand. “Isn’t he though? Such a sweet baby.” Kaylee set the little one down and watched as it curled up on his lap instead as if it was seeking out that hatred with every intention of softening him up, Kaylee snuggled in close to Tico. “Well, let me keep the kitten, throw a ring on my finger, and we can start working on making a human baby. I’d love to make you a papa.” Kaylee offered with a kiss pressed to his cheek. “I do want kids. I’ve always wanted to be a mom. I didn’t know you felt that way.” 

Tico tenses a bit when Kaylee moves the kitten to his lap, he still wasn’t fully certain of all of this but feeling his love relaxing against him loosens the biker immensely. He snakes his arms around her, pulling the brunette even closer as he watches the ball of fur in his lap fall asleep. “I will not throw a ring on your finger.” Tico opposes with a raised prow. “But I will lovingly place a ring on that beautiful finger and smile the biggest goddamn smile while doing it.” Placing a gentle kiss on her forehead, he smiles as they discuss their future. “You’d make a great mom. You’ve got that nurturing thing going on but me? I don’t know how the fuck that’s gonna’ be… just know i’d do anything for my family. It’s the one thing I never thought I’d get but with you I know it’s possible. Cualquier cosa contigo lo es.”
