Wet Teeth

I'm moving wet teeth to a new page because I can't make it my primary blog. Most of the already-posted content is now there. I'm going to leave this one up for a few days.

A little tattoo commission based on the fable o the fox and the mask.

Melt of Feathers, 12" x 20", watercolor and ink on canvas board. This is a gift for my mother. It has taken me an ungodly amount of time to finish, largely because this canvas board, with its supposed watercolor-friendly gesso formula, was unbearable to color on. I basically had to drop loose, pigment heavy splashes and wait for them to settle, and if I used the slightest pressure on a following color layer, the underlying paint would come right up. All in all, I'm very happy with it. 

Now that I'm closing up some loose ends in my to-do list and becoming more consistent in my painting, I think I'm finally going to go through with my Jeanjean idea. It would take at least a year and a half to complete, I think, but it's really something I need to do. I can't let six years of intensive and accomplished music study and my bond between sound and visuals go untested. I keep wanting to find the thing to separate me from other artists and this might be it.
