:Then that means you’re getting a good work out if it’s making you tired.” She added with a laugh. “If you’re ever interested in a class of some sorts - the cycling is the most fun.” 

“That does sound like fun. I have always liked cycling.”

“I’ll let you whine about it. That’s what good friends do, right?” Terrence shrugged. “I dunno. Down in the dumps, I guess. I’ve been trying not to let it bother me but it’s hard.”

“I mean, in my somewhat limited experience, that’s break-ups for you. It'll get easier eventually.”

“I think we’re all lazy around the holidays. I definitely slacked taking care of myself. That could also be because I was going through a breakup too,” he said with a slight frown. “Your body will adjust again.”

“I’m sure it will. I just might still whine about it for a bit at first.” Fawn laughed, though her expression fell when he mentioned the breakup. “Right, uh -- have you been okay since all of that?”

“You’re supposed to do things in moderation, Fawn. You’re not supposed to just go crazy at the gym. Start with some dumbbells and the treadmill and go from there.”

“I’m not going crazy, I promise. I just...was maybe more lazy than I should have been through exams and then going back home to 10 miles past the middle of nowhere for the holidays and my body is maybe not too happy I’m trying to make it actually do things again or something.”

“Because you want to stay healthy? I should probably eat less pizza and drink less alcohol but it hasn’t killed me yet.”

“I mean, you’re not wrong. But why does being healthy have to hurt so much?”

“The cost is a banging body. I mean, maybe, non? Or just to feel better about yourself.” She shrugged with a small smile. “I could never get past day five of them to be honest. Maybe just a fitness class?” 

“I’m not exactly bad at sticking to them I guess, they just always end up feeling really tiring.” Fawn shrugged, slouching forward slightly. “But yeah, supposedly it’s worth something.”

Tink tucked her head into Fawn’s shoulder, sighing deeply. “Why is everything fucked up all the time, Fawn? Like the world is falling apart all the time and my dumb ass can’t even keep a man for more than five minutes.”

“That’s...a good question, honestly.” Fawn sighed, closing the book she’d had open in her lap and wrapping an arm around her friend. “The world seems determined to self destruct, one way or the other. Even trying to sort out any of it is a giant mess. But as for you...I don’t know, maybe you should try to just stay single for a while? Who says you need a man? Life can be just fine without one.”
