It’s warm… laying in his arms…

His breathing; shallow but spirited. More like a warm breeze on my forehead like the ones back home.

I am Orym of the air ashari, and he is my air genasi.

His skin is blue - but not a sad blue - it’s the kind of blue you’d see after a thunderous storm that shakes a home, the colour of the bright sky that comes after to take some of the fear away.

It’s so warm.

I haven’t been this warm in a few years, not since the attack on my home.

I tried cuddling within the knee-crook of our friend, but this? This warmth we share is a different warmth altogether.

I can feel the heat flowing through the both of us with each heart beat I hear in his chest, something I haven’t listened this closely for since the attack, either.

Our fingers stay intertwined, the cool nature of the room keeps any sweat from forming between us, but I wouldn’t mind if it did.

He’s asleep. And he’s smiling, ever so faintly. The darker blush in his cheeks, still present, make his teeth look like twinkles in a night sky - A lot like the times Will and I would climb to the highest peak just to watch the stars - But now he watches me from them.

I know he’d be happy for me.

He is happy.

And so am I.
