Monty-gue: You know Westy-boy, I've come to realise you must be too embarrassed to ask me for some strange reason--perhaps, I thought, a sense of modesty that young engagement causes one to develop as an early symptom of the imminent terminal disease you're willingly submitting yourself to...? ... ... and since the date is drawing dangerously near and I'm quite certain you're meant to settle these things far sooner than this, I figured I would take it upon myself instead, being of sound mind and steadfast character, to save your khaki-clad ass the embarrassment and simply accept. I know, I know… It was the Hanukkah miracle that mother had been hoping for for so long, the one the ancient scripture tells us of. It was humbling for me to finally be able to give back to her and nurture her, much in the same way that she did whenhe carried me in her womb… The circle of life, they say.

And father, dear old paPA… I knew, of course, that my arrival would be emotional for him as well, but to make him weep… I felt so blessed. So many men are afraid to cry, to show that vulnerability, you know that, Henry? We rob ourselves of this. We have to hide from our mirrors, lest they end up showing us what is inside ourselves… Father, only now, is learning to shed that old snakeskin of his and let it all out. And that’s beautiful.
