things i’ve learned when starting a magazine with your friends:
extremely good idea at first and still a good idea until u hit road bumps but then you get over them and learn from them and hopefully become a better person
friendships will suffer and people will get hurt
anger and disappointment will build up if you don’t talk it out
it’s extremely hard to manage college and making magazine
sometimes stress makes you prone to doing things and saying things that might hurt other people without you realizing it?
someone has to be the boss and or else nothing will get done
keep the people who are working for you a priority and make sure everyone is having fun
despite all of this, i was able to be a part of something insanely cool and got to meet a lot of great people and im glad im still part of this awesome team and im learning from all of this
things i’ve learned while sitting alone in my room a lot this summer:
learn how to talk out problems with people
nothing is going to happen if i just lay around all summer
every time i’m presented with something extremely good in my life, something really bad counteracts it then it becomes neutralized and the cycle starts over
even though that statement above is true- try not to think about it and live life as though the good things will keep on happening
go outside or something and distract yourself from your thoughts sometimes because it becomes too much
things i’ve learned while interning:
commuting around 3-4 hours a day and barely getting paid is worth it to a small extent, but it still sucks
tedious work is only fun if you enjoy what you’re doing
doing graphics is only fun to a certain extent because it’s still work
if i commit to it i think i can do something i love without working for someone else and it wont be boring
keep on trying to get another internship even if they hire you a month before school starts because now i have a paid internship along with my unpaid one lmao
things i need to improve on:
being mindful of what i say even if i think it’s a joking matter
try not to dwell on the bad things that have happened this summer
work hard and good things will come to you
have a more positive outlook on life
