I had previously known about maybe half of these, but seeing it on a graphic floored me so I decided to look in to the various death tolls. I took the higher figures in every instance because we all know old racist white folk would do whatever they could to minimize the heinous actions of their white communities. It’s also worth noting that for most massacres, they are typically listed as riots (IMO a racially charged word because of right-wing right media); and a lot of them have 10x as many injured than killed which I omitted those figures for brevity. A (very small) handful of the deaths were white people defending their black brethren, and so I also included those in the figures.
Let this history never be forgotten nor white washed (more than it already has).
