Really excited this semester! Although I had a great Christmas break, it's good to be back :) 

Why am I so excited? CUDA! I'm enrolled in the GPU610 class this semester, which is an intro to parallel programming using CUDA, which is of course nVidia's platform for parallel computing using their GPUs.  

The school's equipped GTX 480s, pretty bad ass few years back, still pretty bad ass for what we're doing. Unfortunately for me as excited as I am about CUDA, I didn't have the forethought to purchase a nVidia GPU early last year when I was in the market for GPUs. So I'll only be able to run my code on campus (for now). I'm thinking of grabbing a GTX 650 ti eventually; 768 cuda cores, not bad.

This might just be a pet peeve of mine, but I absolutely hate it when I open up source code and the things been tabbed to oblivion. For those who don't know, here are steps to change your indentation in Visual Studio (2010 & 2012, probably the same for all of them) from using Tabs :( to Spaces :)

Menu Path:

TOOLS - OPTIONS - Text Editor - All Languages - Tabs

Now, check the 'Insert spaces' radio button and fill in the Tab size and Indent size. I usually set this to two spaces, but that's my personal preference. Usually a tab equals 5 spaces, but can vary.

Re: Nov 2 Queue Challenge

Looks like Amir, and Michael have already contributed to this challenge, but I figured I would too :) It's slightly different from Amir's. 

First off, the return value for the operator method seems to be incorrect, we figure this is since Fardad was pretty rushed by the end of our class and we can't edit the data with the method if it isn't returned by reference.

So the prototype:

int operator[](unsigned int index);

Should be:

int& operator[](unsigned int index);

Hi there! My name is Prasanth, and I'm a fourth semester CPA student studying at Seneca College. Currently I'm enrolled in OOP344, and for that class an active blog is not only highly promoted but required. OOP344 is one of the first courses leading up to some very interesting professional courses available for my program in the coming semesters. So I'm very excited to be enrolled in it.

Regarding this blog, I will try to keep my posts short, clear, and on topic, but I'm sure I'll be posting about my other interests here (Mainly, photography or gaming).
