"It's about yearning. He missed his partner."
(Finally posting this edit.)
Silly Goreames edit to Daddy Cop from The Rookie because it fits them so well.
Not me completely throwing off my schedule because Taylor released a new song, and I needed to edit Goreames to it. Guess you get the edit I planned for today another time (it's not like I've been pushing it back for weeks already), or you can check on TikTok because there I have posted it weeks ago.
People, I need you all to see the absolute insanest scene I have ever, ever, witnessed in my entire life. (Excuse the bad quality of the video, I don't have anything better. I already upscaled that from 480p to 720p. If you should happen to have source material in better quality, we will be in your debt.) I've been going insane over this series with @soraya-elentari in the last few days. And between us, we don't even speak nor understand Russian beyond a few simple words. So, we mainly went by context clues. And as of yesterday we have machine transcribed and translated subtitles that lead to funny things. I get it, Russian is a hard language, and sometimes the mumble a bit, and the bots get confused.
Bit of context, not that it will help much: This is from the Russian version of Criminal Intent which takes the original episodes and makes them into versions for the Russian market. That means the episodes are not in the original order and the crime isn't usually committed and/or solved in the exact same way as in the original. Think of it not like a copy but more like a "based upon" thing. Anyway, this is the second episode from their fourth and final season. (A crime if you ask me that they only got four seasons. They fully understood the assignment.) The episode is based upon what was the original's first episode. So, jewelry theft, three dead, later another dead in a car's trunk, so far so much the same. That's not the important part here. Another part of (useless) context maybe? This is the episode right after their version of Blindspot.
Now, here in this scene we have Major Irina Petrovskaja and her partner Major Georgiy Loginov. And by now you may wonder why I say this is the insanest scene I ever witnessed, he is just comforting her after what she went through in the last episode. Maybe she felt bad or something. That's what I thought, too. But then I ran that scene through a transcriber and translated the dialogue into English. And holy hell, was I wrong. (Those of you who might speak Russian, please don't spoil it. But also, please, if something is greatly inaccurate, tell me. I'm heavily reliant on machine transcription and machine translation here.)
Basically what they're saying is: GL: The criminals were watching the apartment for a while, right? Then they drew up a schedule of the Solovyovs' arrivals and departures, right? Then they chose a day and broke into the apartment on that day. Now comes our math day. Disabling the alarm and getting to the right place. A hole in the floor. IP: You know, they must have had a floor plan of the apartment with the BTI. GL: No, that means there was a fourth person involved. IP: Yes.
They are talking about the case. Like really? But then why is he swinging the swing she's sitting on? Why is he stroking her hair at the end? I... This scene is insane. Now, granted, I don't really understand the Russian cultural background and it might be a totally normal thing for colleagues to do stuff like that. But I don't think so.
And if you come at me and try to tell me he's talking down on her. No, he isn't. Later in the episode he even tries to compliment her by comparing her to the best diamond. He gets it a bit wrong, but he gets an A for effort.
So, do you see why this scene is so insane in my opinion?

Three shots that I particularly loved: the discovery of the third wife in "Undaunted Mettle" (one of my favs--especially after I saw the apples); Eames in the coffee warehouse in "And Not Forgotten"; and the "Hey, they were off-duty when they got called in!" shot with Bobby in the leather jacket from "D.A.W."

Thanks, Liz (Goren x Eames)
Here we stan Law & Order: Criminal Intent. I’ve loved the series for years, but I only got around to watching the last five seasons recently and wow, it has consumed me. First time I’ve written anything for them, but I’ve been inspired by all the good fic out there I wanted to contribute. Will anyone read it? Maybe not but I feel accomplished, so there is that.
Will also be posted to AO3, likes/feedback would be greatly appreciated 😘
Title: Thanks, Liz Summary: Eames’ sister be interfering, post Loyalty (Do we put spoilers on a show that happened more than ten years ago?) If you’re reading, you probably know. Rating: At the very most PG

The cuties have arrived.
The look™ Bobby and Alex share when Lady Harrington grabs their hands.
All flustered for getting (rightfully) praised.
Also let me just ad I do very much identify with Lady Harrington in this scene. I would also grab their hands and introduce them to all my friends (or literally anyone in reach) and tell them how they saved my life. Only difference I wouldn't stop at only holding their hands. I would want a hug and I would also only let go of them/let them leave once they finally confessed their feelings (but I guess Lady Harrington had other things to worry about).
Background characters steeling the show:
That women's reaction to the remark about Lady Harrington lying in her urine-stained sheets (she didn't look that shock at the talk of murder might I add).
She's done with that family's drama. The ceiling looks way more interesting.
There is just something about this shot. The way they are standing in the shadows. How you can see their reflections in the glass. I simply love it.
