Let’s go age order yeah?

Zephyr:

Zephyr takes after Dagur with his red hair and green eyes, but is more like Astrid when it comes to personality. She is more refrained and while she could easily kick your arse, prefers to act mother and help Astrid take care of her younger siblings. She is the oldest of the children and is 16 when the story takes place. She is Silver blooded, so Astrid is terrified for when she turns 18 and is made to enter into the Silver blood mating ceremony

Lokas:

This is the most accurate picture I have for how I imagine the twins. Lokas takes after Dagur again with red hair, although his is more orange-y with streaks of blond on top when he’s been out in the sun. His eyes are blue/green and his main goal in life is to cause mischief. Him and Ebba both think the mating ceremony is a rubbish idea and are planning to run away the night before and join the Bronze city as refugees. He is Silver blood.

Ebba:

Once again using the picture above, Ebba looks the most like Astrid. She has bright blue eyes and blond hair with hints of reddish brown closer to her scalp. She helps Lokas cause trouble all the time and is constantly getting into scraps and fights with the other kids in the village. Out of all her kids, Astrid was most certain that Ebba would be a Silver blood because of her love for battle and fearless nature, making her shocked when her test comes back Gold.

Nuffink:

As the youngest of the kids, Nuffink becomes Astrid’s baby who she clings onto, hoping he won’t ever be old enough to enter the ceremony. He looks the same as he does in “HTTYD the lost world” with blond hair and green eyes. Nuffink is very quiet when out and generally just stays with either Astrid or Zephyr. For ages, Astrid was worried he would be a Bronze as he never showed any desire to fight. When Ebba’s blood test came back Gold, Astrid was then terrified that her baby would be Gold as she would never be able to see him again if he was Gold, while she could go to Bronze City any day.

Well this is it if you haven’t. I’d recommend reading it. But anyway, I had a story idea that leads off of this. It picks up from the point that goes “Astrid put on the tunic, and settled into bed. She fell asleep before Dagur came back from the bath, her body as exhausted as if she’d fought a battle.” And then turns in a very different direction from the story.

Instead of going to Hiccup when he asks her too, she stays with Dagur because let’s face it, Astrid is smart enough to know what the safer option is, and also which option is better for her village. So she stays with Dagur and falls pregnant with his kid. Zephyr is born, and as the rules say, Dagur stays with Astrid another year before they go to get paired again. Dagur and Astrid are paired together for a second time and Astrid has their twins, Ebba and Lokas. After that second year is up, Astrid is paired with two different men but doesn’t conceive a baby with either of them. After those two years, her and Dagur are paired again and have their last child together (at least for a while) who is called Nuffink.

When Zephry reached five years old, Astrid takes her to get her blood test. It is Silver so Zephry is allowed to return with Astrid to live with her. When Ebba and Lokas are four, Hiccup becomes the head of the government and pushes the blood test from 5, to 13/14 depending on when you were born. So Ebba and Nuffink are brought up in the Silver village until they are 14 when Astrid takes them to get their blood test. Astrid believes they will be Silver, and Lokas is. Ebba on the other hand is Gold blooded. Two men in uniform escort Astrid and her twins back to Dagur’s house and tell Ebba that she has until sun down to grab all her stuff and say goodbye to her family. Astrid and Dagur are also told they should resume having children to increase the chance of more Gold bloods being born even though both of them have been discharged from the ceremonies due to them having produced four healthy children. The guards request to take Nuffink to get his blood tested but Astrid refuses, saying that all children are required to stay with their mothers until at least age 13 by the command of the government.

After much arguing, Ebba is taken to the Gold Town where she is placed with Hiccup Haddock as her mentor, being one of the most successful Gold bloods still alive. Hiccup immediately likes her and begins to see her as a daughter. He is subconsciously reminded of Astrid but can barely remember that.
