Fanmodels of the Mystery Skulls animated gang! shiromori n mystery might happen another time?? time will tell I actually had a ton of fun trying to emulate @mysterybensmysteryblog‘s art style for these models, really hope I did em justice~

Our identities themselves are acts of resistance. To love ourselves is an act of resistance. To reclaim ourselves – our gender, race, sexuality, religion, ability, etc. – is to resist the power structures that seek to defeat us.

That reclamation comes with its own struggles and setbacks. We want to hear about yours.

Send us your art, photography, and writing on the topic of struggling to accept your identity. This can be any identity, and any art form.

All writing – poetry, short stories, essays – should be sent handwritten on blank or lined paper in dark ink. The image should be scanned or sent as a high quality photo.

All photography and art must be sent as either a jpeg, png, or pdf. The photos should be high quality (unless the quality is part of the art).

All submissions are due by March 1, 2018. Artists and writers will be notified when their pieces are accepted or not. All are encouraged to submit multiple pieces – however, not all of your pieces will necessarily be accepted, and you will be informed as to which pieces we accept and which we don’t.

The end product will be a zine that is free for viewing, alongside downloads and print copies that will sell at a low price. All artists whose work is accepted will receive free download copies of the zine. The zine itself will be put together and orchestrated through Carolyn Hallock – you can find some of her work at her Instagram @carolynahallock.

All submissions can be sent to [email protected] either in the email, as a file, or as a google doc that we are given access to. We look forward to seeing those intimate parts of yourselves that you decide to share with us.

This is something I have to do and swallow my pride. I’m asking for any help and if you even bother reading this thank you….

Hey, so over a year ago my father passed away from stage 4 cancer. This picture is the last day we ever saw him again. Since that day my family has really been struggling and I’m deeply sorry but I have to ask for help for my sisters. Our mother is currently paralyzed and as the oldest I am trying my hardest to keep everything going. We just really need help to catch up on bills, but most importantly food and life necessities. I was fired from my job, because I couldn’t leave my mom alone at home and they didn’t really care that I had someone who couldn’t take care of themselves. It kills me to ask for help, but I have to put my pride aside for my little sisters. Without rent, we would lose our apartment and it’s starting to become winter and all we have is our van for 5 people, one of which is paralayzed from a stroke. I’m just asking for help because I have no one else to turn to, but even your thoughts and prayers would be enough. Please help us, I would appreciate anything and my sisters would be living a better life. Im not too great with words, but I appreciate if you donate to help my family. This is pretty much my last resort to save out apartment…
