Hi, I’ve been following your page for years now and I love it. I finally mustered up the courage to share a design for a Kuros breed with you if its ok ;^;/
Falnucu (Fal-nu-ku) are a small breed of Kuros, their wingspan is rather small in relation to their bodies and have a large membrane down their tail that can be spread our and folded back in. This allows them to hover in place for an extended period of time comfortably. They have a reasonable lifespan depending on their jobs, the oldest recorded managed to reach just shy of 400.
They have more of a beak like structure to their mouths, with the edges being one continuous (and very sharp) piece of Kuronium. Their Kuronium is arguably the weakest of all the breeds and has little use outside of jewelry. That being said, it takes a very skilled blacksmith to work with Falnucu kuronium because of its fragility and tendency to break during the smithing process.
Their secondary colours can be a mottled mix and their wings/tail membranes usually have patterns. No one Falnuc is the same in this regard. Their eyesight is incredible, they can see much greater distances than other breeds and with much more clarity.
In Kuros society they are very low ranking. Their size makes what jobs they can do very niche. In battle their main use is carrying messages between generals, scouting the enemy and taking out enemy messengers. Their preferred way of doing the latter is to attack from above at a high speed, striking the head with a closed paw with deadly precision.
Only the best Falnucu are prized for these roles, as a result there are often competitions held for them to show off their speed, stamina, agility and perception. The higher rank you are, the better Falnucu you can take on, with the cream of the crop belonging to the King and Queen. Being in the Royal flock is a coveted position for many Falnucu.
Other roles they tend to fill is pest control, their size allows them to fit into may small places and catch even the most determined of rodents and bugs. They are also fond of grooming the other breeds, combing them over for parasites and cleaning any viscera from their latest kill/battle.
As a breed they usually have no control over their breeding. Those who are under the wing of a general will have their partners chosen for them, to ensure the next generation has the best genes.
They are also know for their beautiful singing voices, those who don’t make the cut to be in battle often become in house singers for the important.
Outside of Kurosia, a Falnucu seen flying around a settlement is seen as a bad omen…that it signals an attack in the future. So they will be violently chased away.
There is also a legend surrounding them too. That an Arkeyan captured one, named Áille, that belong to a queen. Their kuronium useless to them they instead imprisoned them in a small cage, clipped their wings and commanded them to sing like a bird. This Arkeyan would parade this captured kuros around, poking her to sing and humiliating her and her kind. Áille would only sing in Kurosian….and always songs calling for her kin to find them. The Arkeyan became too cocky and a scouting Falnucu heard the song, and upon closer inspection was horrified to see what had become of Áille and immediately reported back to the Kind and Queen.
Angered by the tale they rallied an army and attacked ruthlessly. Áille was freed from her cage…but was unable to continue her duties. She could no longer fly and being cooped up in a cage had damaged her back. The queen, however, was kind. She permitted Áille to remain in the castle till she passed away at the age of 235. Her bones were crafted into a most beautiful piece of art that held pride of place in the Falnucu quarters of the castle.
I really don’t know why I don’t see when I get submissions, because I just to happen to peek into my asks and see this and NOT REMEMBER SEEING IT BEFORE Dx I wouldn’t think inactivity effects notifications but this keeps happening and I keep missing amazing creations like this ;n;
Hon, this is just, amazing! The wing patterns and shape are just eye candy, I LOVE!!! I absolutely LOVE the idea of tiny Kuros omg, lil singy cutes ;w; But the lore too, I’m just in awe of this and everyone that puts in this much creativity into their species/characters, this is just, GAH AMAZING and such a good dynamic to add to the Kurosian society, plus the Arkeyan part and the clipping of wings HNNGGG I LOVE!!!

Which speaking of! There are some REALLY badass fan kuros breeds that the creators have said can have peeps make OCs with! For Weirdlanders, I pretty much consider a lot of fan stuff canon so give them a peek! Definately adding these guys, if the creator is open for peeps to make OCs using their breed :D
