You know what’s really fucked up? A woman can be sentenced to at least 20 years in prison for defending herself against a stalker or rapist, but a rich, white man can molest tens of children and get off scot-free. Not to mention the fact that in the articles people will write about cases like this, they use a happy little picture of the rapist, but use a nasty picture of the victim to insinuate the idea that it is the victim’s fault.

It is never the victim’s fault. It doesn’t matter if the person was wearing a short skirt and crop top, if they were at a party, drinking beer, smoking weed, “asking for it” which they never do, or anything like that. It doesn’t matter if the victim is a boy or girl, it doesn’t matter what color their skin is, what clothes they wear, who they are, if they wear a goddamn hijab or not, it does n o t matter. The person who is touched without their permission, harassed - sexually or not -, stalked, domestically abused, etc. is the victim, and it is NEVER their fault.

You don’t ask to have some creepy old dude or chick touch you when you don’t want them to. You don’t say “hey since I’m wearing clothes that make me feel good about myself while I’m going out to have some fun with my friends this weekend, do you wanna rape me?” It does not matter what the circumstances are; what the victim looks like, what they wear, or who they are…

Instead of slut-shaming the victims of rape, telling them that they should cover up more and stay home like good fucking kids (which doesn’t work either, since people who don’t show skin still get raped, and some people are raped in their own homes), how about you teach your kids not to touch someone without their permission? How about you tell your kid not to touch someone when they’re asleep, or drunk, or high, or under any circumstances no matter what unless they are sober and awake enough to say that they truly want it?

How about you quit shaming people who have been violated and hurt by someone without their permission and start doing things to stop it? How about you quit being such fucktards and start being good ass people? It is never the victim’s fault. The one who did it is at fault ALWAYS.

It is never the victim's fault.
