A reddit user posted a picture of his botched tonsillectomy.

Details? This is horrific: Essentially when you get a tonsillectomy as an adult instead of snipping the tonsils out and letting them heal up they cut them out and cauterize the wounds shut. The cauterization on the left side burst open and because it was in my throat and so close to an artery, a clot began halfway down my throat and slowly went up as I was vomiting it out of my stomach. Kind of like a stalactite.

Why is the blood pouring from your mouth lumpy?: It’s lumpy because what you are seeing is actually a blood clot. It started about halfway down my throat and was one giant chunk. Think of like, a giant bloody slug trying to wriggle it’s way out of your throat. It kind of felt like that.
