This is such a random question but im curious on your writing process.
I read through your ao3 and it felt like im in a unlimited goldmine area aaaaaa. Not only its rare to find someone (maybe in tumblr lol but i havent really find in other social media talk about it, maybe i should search in twt) talking about LN, to find fics ? That. Is truly a rarity aaaaaaaa. The way you write captures the character so damn much that I felt like you shake the characters out of the game and put them in your fics (one of my fav of yours is the one mc beating a pervert with the sandals like ??? ESP CHARLIE PART HAHAHHAAHHA). I always struggle to write character development or atleast stay true to their character so i wonder about how your progress on writing usually is ! How to capture their ‘essence’ to say the least
You are one talented writer and ofc one amazing translator. i love to watch your yt videos so damn muchh, and sometimes i wonder is your job is an offical translator (idk the title for it lol so im sorry if i got it wrong) cause you are truly like a professional that i wont even be suprised if you were lololololol. Or maybe even an author cause If you suddenly told to the blog that hey ! I have a book on the way ! I wont even be questioning it and ask when the book drops hihi
Such an amazing writer & Translator you are omgomgomgomg. Hope you are doing well when you are reading this ! So gratefull to have stumble to your blog and been following for 3? 4 years ? All i remember is that You have ever translated ToT and that must be some time now aaaaa, time truly went by fast❤️
oh gosh, thank you so much for your kind words. sometimes it's unbelievable how long you can know someone on the internet. you've been with me for such a long time, haha!
i don't really have anything to say about my writing process except to tell people to read, read, read. read the source material and read what your fellow fans are writing, preferably another creator you look up to so that you can see their style. i think it's also important to lean into your strengths! you can see that i don't write much for Sariel, Charlie, or Jesse (and i think those shorter stories are deceptive in that they don't let you see my holes, but if i were to write something longer then my grasp on their character would start to unravel).
my thought processes are more like Xu Mo, Mo Yi, and Evan, so i find it comfortable to "get in their head" so to speak. Osborn is easy for me to find the voice for too, but i don't have an explanation for this one, haha. i guess his traits are just that distinctive to me!
the nice thing about light and night is that they've really put their characters through their paces, so everyone has had moments of comedy, grief, rage, loneliness, teasing, love, jealousy, etc. the more emotions you can see a character exhibit, or the more situations they're placed in to make them show a range of emotions, the easier it is to extrapolate how they'll react in other situations or the mood of your work.
for example, don't think about forcing a character into a comedic situation, but think about how this character reacts in comedic situations. i think that's the key to making things sound more natural.
your guesses about me are half right, haha. i'm not a professional translator or writer, but i've done both as side jobs and considered an industry change into them if i ever get sick of my current job. since they're potential career paths, i've developed myself seriously in them by connecting with and learning from professionals in these industries.
