Watching Carol, Wanda, Gamora, Nebula, Mantis, Shuri, Okoye, Pepper, Hope and Valkyrie charge together towards Thanos (and, in doing so, carrying out Natashaâs legacy) was a religious experience
A concept iâve been thinking about since infinity war- Thanos using the reality stone to reverse the effects of the super soldier serum, causing Steve to revert back to his smaller, sickly self. It seemed to me like a good visual way to really shock an audience and bring an end to Steveâs character arc (a calling back to the themes of the first avenger and the idea that Steve was Captain America long before the serum, and allude to the Avengers 2012 quote âeverything special about you came out of a bottle.â If Steve survives endgame this de-seruming may be taken as an opportunity to lead a more normal life, as was touched on in Age of Ultron, and allow the new generation of Avengers to take the lead.) Anyway, i had fun with this idea, hope you enjoy it.

Love your thoughts on the billy/frank's family thing! "You know, I'd have given you the world. I'd have given you anything that you ever wanted... if you'd just wanted me." You know that's probably how he felt about Frank too.
YEAH. that was my feeling. a (large) part of billy probably thought he was justified in what he did to frank because frank hurt him first, and worst.Â
Billy was very broken. He needed a good psych to get through his narcissism and instead was given one who exploited it. I know there's a lot of discourse over season 2, but I think we can ALL agree to hate Durmont's character (I think the actress did really well).
Congratulations Black Panther on being nominated for 7 Academy Awards!
The Punisher Season 2 Alternate Ending
Frank is sitting in the van waiting for the drug dealers to arrive. Suddenly someone lands on the roof of his van and jumps down. Daredevil leans against the door, bemused look on his face. âSo, Frank. What the hell are you still doing in my city?â Cut to black.

Can we give all the praise to Ben Barnes though ?? He was really impressive all season... Jon too but for me, BB really stood out
God, yeah. Iâve been saying to my pals for a while now that TPS would just be generic schlock pulp if it werenât for the performances. Both Bernthal and Barnes make such interesting choices that add depth to their characters that the writing misses.Â
My absolute favourite example of what Iâm talking about is the scene in s1 where Frank wakes up tied to a chair. Itâs the first time he and Billy talk face-to-face after Billy tried to shoot him in the stairwell and the lines theyâre given are pretty generic, tough guy action stuff (âNice place you got here.â/âLooked better when I decorated it with your guysâ) but they both play it so⌠soft. Billy is quiet. Frank sounds pained. Itâs great.Â
I think itâs a damn shame the writers misuse and squander the talent at their disposal. They consistently made the least interesting narrative choices all season. Barnes and Bernthal did what they could with what they were given, god bless them for it, but it couldnât save the story.
(Punisher S2 non-spoiler thoughts)
I thought Punisher season 2 was fantastic and absolutely terrible. The actors were phenomenal and Iâm not over Certain Scenes. I do think a lot of what some fans felt was OOC for Frank was actually very IC for one simple reason: you arenât supposed to like him. Heâs not a Good Guy. Heâs a âDoes What Needs To Be Doneâ Guy. And it hurt to watch - Iâm not over it and I spread my watch out over 3 days so I can only imagine how people who binged it in one sitting feel.
Iâm just gonna go ahead and get this off my chest.
No, Billy Russo was not redeemable. Yes, he deserved to die. Sticking him in prison wouldnât have been a fitting end for his character, anyway.
but to have Frank put him down like a dog when he was already seconds away from death? Cutting off his last words?
Look, I get it. Frank thinks Billy is scum. Seriously, I get the idea. But Frank unloaded on him and walked away like it was nothing. Donât try to tell me thatâs in character for him. Billy wasnât just another one of the thugs Frank mowed through. The whole point of Billy was that he was the most personal of antagonists for Frank and this season completely threw that away. Iâm not saying that Frank shouldâve held his hand or some shit, but a much more in-character Frank wouldâve just sat in silence and at least listened to what Billy had to say. He wouldâve at least let Billy die his own goddamn death.
and that just goes to show how the writers decided to ignore the narrative complexity of the frank/billy arc in favor of making Frank Castle just another cruel man with a gun *shrugs*
Here's the thing I think we Billy fans overlook. The show is called The Punisher. Frank is the titular character and this is primarily a show about him. And I personally think they gave us more of Billy than I could have hoped. But due to that, we see the moments Billy could have turned this narrative around, and we witness the moment Billy is shown as beyond salvation- he murders 3 women to set up Frank. Not only did he not stop Frank's family from being slaughtered, he now makes Frank feel that helpless all over again and this time makes Frank seem responsible.
I think Frank grieved for Billy when Billy died, and for Frank that was months ago. The poor SOB bleeding out in Curt's basement is just a shell.
You can see when Frank realizes Billy truly doesn't remember. He talks with Curtis about it. I think at that point, if Billy'd packed up with the doc (and that's an entire other conversation) and left, Frank wouldn't have gone after him. It was Billy's choices that got him there.
Please don't take this as an attack - I love/hated this season as well. I'm just offering a counter.
