Transparency Tuesday moment. Parenting Every morning I am on a Zoom with other amazing women who are working early in the morning (like 6am) pursuing their business goals... What I love the most is that we are women who support one another but also we can share our experiences with one another. This morning I shared a regret... I know we're not supposed to live in them but I feel as though you should acknowledge them and move past. I felt as though I did not have an ideal childhood growing up, therefore, I wanted my daughter to have EVERYTHING especially since my husband was killed. I never wanted her to feel what it was like to be poor, therefore, I worked really hard to make sure she had everything that she needed and probably more than she needed. We traveled all over the world and when we were home she was truly spoiled with houses, cars, tutors, personal chef, maid and driver.... What I shared this morning is.. Did I mess her up? Did I ruin her perception of what real life is like? Once she was on her own and off to college expecting someone to come and make up her bed... Whose fault was that?? Are we ruining our kids giving them everything that we didn't have?? Does it not provide them the grit that they need to survive life?? Well at this point I'm doing something very hard to do.... FORGIVE MYSELF... WE MUST REMEMBER THAT LIVING IN REGRETS HELPS NOTHING... FORGIVE YOURSELF!!! MOVE ON AND TRUST THE PROCESS!!!
