We ain't somewhere else

“That’s rare,” she commented. “But nice actually. How did you come to be with this group?”

“Yeah it is, these days more than anytime.”, people became even worst after the dead started walking “It’s a long story...”, he didn’t want to talk about he Merle’s plan about the group. He wasn’t that guy anymore.

“I think some might be good too,“ Rick replied, nodding.  "But I think that we need to be careful of who to trust here.  I’m not sure if I trust anyone but we’ll just have to wait it out.  I know if you trust someone, they’re not bad people.  I don’t think Aaron or Eric are bad.  I think they’re here for the same reason we are.”

The man nodded. After everything, they had their reasons to be suspicious about anyone. People could be even more dangerous than the dead. They really needed to be careful. “I think they’re good people too.”, Aaron and Eric were ones of the few he had some interaction with, but he thought he could say they were good. He didn’t know about the rest.

“I know ya are. In days like t’at, we need to be.”

“Good people can still be dangerous if they need to be.” In fact, they were more dangerous in her mind than those who were outright cruel.

“Yeah, they can.”, he knew well enough that all of them were dangerous “But we’re not hurting innocents.”

Beth shifted on her feet and rubbed her arm.  Her nerves were beginning to get the best of her.  There was more to getting Judith a doll than she had let on.  It would be now or never, however, if she wanted to make sure it was just the right one.  “Think I could tag along with ya?”

“Yeah, alright.”, he answered “Just check with Hershel first.”. They were all a family, but still, he wasn’t her father or something, the final word about her going out would be her father’s and he wasn’t going to take her if Hershel didn’t allow her to leave.

She kept close to him, watching his reaction she knew what had happened before he even said the words, “Oh..” it was a simple word but it carried that she knew, Andrea hadn’t made it - part of her wanted to ask who else hadn’t made it but she decided not to ask - not yet. “But you’re still here.. that means you made it too,” she gave a small smile before stepping close, her hand reaching out before lightly grasping his hand, it had been so long since she saw a familiar face and Daryl looked … sad. It wasn’t something she had seen from him before but it weighed on her heart.

He didn’t know what to answer. There was times he didn’t even know if he wanted to stay alive. To survive. That was no life, but his life before wasn’t any better anyway. At least he had a family with all that shit around them. The group were more family than her own family ever were. “Yeah, I am...”, it was his only words, there wasn’t much to say, he wasn’t exactly happy to be alive. Even more when he lost so many.

Bobby stopped moving to leave at his words. “Ya ain’t known me that long, Daryl. Ya don’t owe me anythin’…” She didn’t understand. Anyone else would have taken the offer without question. Let someone else die for them so that they and the people they loved would live. “Yeah…I got the flare gun. Ya think that’s gon’ be ‘nough? Ya know they don’t fool as easy as they used to.”

He shrugged. Yes, he didn’t know her that long, but still, he know she was a good person, he wouldn’t just let her die if they could avoid that. “These things still are stupid as a fuckin’ rock.”, he muttered “We just need to distract them enough so we can make a run for it and get the hell out of here.”

“You’d have mine too if I need.”

“Let’s jus’ say that’s more dangerous here than inside. It’s safer. We’ll be better there t’an here.”

“I’ll take your word for it. Still, people can sometimes be more dangerous than those things are.”

“I agree, but my group... they’re good people.”, alright, they could be dangerous, but they still were good people.

“Are we in trouble?”
