Back in the early 80's (when I used to drink), a friend took me way back in the middle of nowhere to get some fresh liquor. Where I lived, everybody played a banjo, so I was used to redneck living 😁 When we got there, a little bitty man walked out with a 12 gauge and asked me, "You with the government, don't lie to me young feller, I'll know"! I said no sir, are you Mr Sutton? He said "I ain't no sir and I ain't no Mr, I'm Popcorn"! I said, alright, I'm Ronnie and reached out to shake his hand. He took my hand , sort of grinned and asked, "you like good liquor"? I said hell yeah, let's have a drank. He laughed and said "foller me young feller"! I bought it from him quite a few times, didn't have a clue about who he was until later in life and I heard the "revenuers" (as he called them) raided him again and he'd took his own life. A terrible and sad situation. He was talented and so knowledgeable at his craft, but he was smart in other ways and a really nice feller. I wish he knew just how much folks really loved him and enjoyed his company, not just his liquor. An honor to meet you Popcorn🙏
