Are you alright? It's been a bit, and I was getting worried about you not posting In a good while :(
Sorgy...
I am not an avid social media user. I kind of suck at it, actually. And to add insult to injury, I have this awful habit of overextending pretty much every project I do. A one shot RPG-Sesh turns into 8 weeks of play. A simple drawing of a single characters turns into a full 12-Roster with additional art and lore behind it. And etc.
I jump from project to project pretty casually too, so I'm not always 100% focused on one thing, and that makes me lose track of things pretty easily... But I am alive!
Currently working on a Saimatsu Fic (Yes, the Dangaronpa V3 couple (Yes, I did not escape that rabbit hole since 2017)) and it is probably my main focus at the moment. I'll still sketch some things here and there but, y'know, slowly.
Hello! I’m back again, and due to the interest of people in the Album-Inspired Sinners and my general fondness of them in general, I have done a little more extra work on their characters, backstories and general things! Of which I will now share with you through this megapost. This will include all sorts of things - E.G.O.s, ID’s, Cantos & Backstories, etc.
Everything written ahead is inspired by the albums and songs created by their specific artists, including their discography, visual media, etc. I’ll try to always be clear what sort of media is inspiring a certain choice (Usually songs!)
I’ll also not deviate too much from what we know in Limbus Company. LCB is still after the Golden Boughs, just with different people.
I'll also put a link here to a megadoc. I'll keep it updated with random stuff about this entire side-project. Huge rambling under the cut, first about the designs, then about possible Backstory/Canto ideas for these 3 in specific. Consider yourself warned!
Still here? Cool! I'll briefly talk about a few aspects of the E.G.Os first: All of them are based on a specific song, which is the name of the E.G.O. itself, and are accompanied by a small phrase - A short lyric of the song itself which best fits the Musicling of choice. While normally Base E.G.O. are a room, I felt like making them mostly expansive landscapes fits better with music. Unbound. That being said...
Cacau's E.G.O. has her reflecting upon a pond and crying her heart out, with a seemingly vast landscape surrounding her as she takes shade from the sun. In the distance there is someone else by a tree, waiting for her, although the scenery is only being projected to her on screens - You can see their faint lines cutting through space. The scenery and her Wires are also glitched and failing to keep up the perfect illusion.
"Andy"'s E.G.O. has them being kidnapped by aliens while on a straight jacket, as their padded cell is deconstructed and ripped apart, revealing the forest and the stars high above, where they seemingly are being forcefully taken to. They also have no footing, as they're lifted off the ground.
Aurafarmer Calliope's E.G.O. has her in a vast red desert, Mars itself, with three planets on the back - A white planet with a ring of gold, a black planet with a small green moon and a pale planet being torn apart by a black hole, which itself eats away at the Wires. On her feet lies a small wooden horse, and a farmer's scythe buried into the land behind her. She's wearing a knight's armor and wielding a black-hole blade, standing watch and waiting for the right moment.
Anyway, into the Cantos.

1# Cacau — Born in District 2 / B-Corp — In her Late 30’s
The Late Blooming
Canto XI
Carla Rosa, A.K.A. Cacau was born in the backstreets of District 2. Despite her harsh upbringing, her intelligence and quick wit always got her through the worst of situations, alongside a very bad trait to have in The City — Compassion. The inability to let go of others, while often getting her into severe trouble and grief, was the only reason she managed to grow older in the first place.
Tônia, a dear friend of Cacau growing up, helped and inspired her to move away from the Backstreets and into the B-Corp Nest, wishing the two of them could live a life of luxury away from the Backstreets, the Syndicates and the struggles of The City. Despite Tônia’s wishes, Cacau can’t help but feel uneasy, going alongside her friend’s desires. (“Paisagem da Janela”)
The two passed through rigorous exams and tests to properly join B-Corp’s Nest. Exams which Tônia failed, but Cacau, using her talents, helped Tônia cheat her way into passing the exams, supposedly tricking the exam staff. This act was identified by the Nest, but not acted upon — Cacau also did not tell Tônia about it, not wishing to hurt her feelings, but also leading Tônia to believe she was more skilled than she really was. (“Paisagem da Janela”)
As time passes, Cacau and Tônia begin a relationship, now as Feathers inside B-Corp, and slowly Tônia starts to wish for something other than a good life — Purpose. To help the City function at a higher level and to become a better place. Cacau doesn’t share the feeling, the work done for B-Corp slowly dulling her compassion, but her desire for Tônia’s approval causes her to go along with her lover’s ideas, the two pursuing more and more recognition within their nest. And eventually, the two come under tutelage of Vincent — A high agent within B-Corp. (“San Vicente”)
Tônia, however, simply isn’t at the same level as Cacau. Cacau can go after and collect taxes from higher and higher value targets, while Tônia still struggles with the basics, especially due to her more emotional nature, skirting any sort of punishment due to Cacau’s influence over Vincent. In Cacau’s pursuit of becoming someone greater, she becomes more and more ruthless, all while shielding Tônia from the truth. Cacau lies and kills indiscriminately, hiding it to maintain her image towards Tônia. (“O Trem Azul”)
However, Vincent pushes her further. More violent collections. More intense augmentations. Slowly, Cacau hardens her heart, becoming indifferent even to her lover, causing them to drift apart slowly, but never truly separate. While simply going through the motions of B-Corp and doing a simple Tax collection, Cacau ends up meeting with Tônia, which immediately bursts into a heated argument upon realizing the carnage Cacau is causing. (“Os Povos”)
The two live a luxurious life inside a prestigious Nest. So what if they can’t change The City like they dreamed of, ages ago? They are comfortable and happy. All they have to do is go through the motions. Tônia, however, rejects that, telling Cacau she’s changed — Became worse, uncaring and cold. A shell of who she once was. Cacau readies her weapon to strike down Tônia as their argument becomes heated, only stopping due to her realization — What the hell am I doing? (“Tudo Que Você Podia Ser”)
Before Cacau can apologize, Vincent reveals himself, having set up this confrontation in the first place, and reminds Cacau and Tônia that “Only one of you is a citizen of B-Corp.” Tônia is confused and Cacau in shock, unable to say anything as Vincent reveals she never passed her exams years ago, and thus isn’t a citizen of B-Corp. She’s not allowed in the Nest. With a look of disbelief at her former lover, Tônia is killed by Vincent.
Vincent encourages Cacau, saying that she finally has no one to hold her back, but Cacau can only quietly ask him to leave, being unable to face reality. Vincent reminds her that her life in B-Corp lies in his hands and he can demote her at any moment — Luxury, power and comfort. If he wants to, he can rip it all away from her. Her only response is “Please, leave me alone.” (“Me Deixa Em Paz”)
Cacau never climbed high enough in the ranks of B-Corp to be anyone important, having rejected the final offer Vincent gave her to be someone of true importance in The City. Cacau resigns, and leaves the Nest, but not before taking a few things with her. She tricked them once, she can do it again. But better this time, without being caught. Information about events regarding the Smoke War, the Old-L Corp and the aspiring New L-Corp and the Golden Boughs. Maybe with that, she can achieve Tônia’s dream.
Cacau approaches Limbus Company with information they can’t refuse, and an idea that will get them what they want. Information on how to get in contact with a group of individuals connected to the Golden Boughs. Of how to get them together, and how to achieve greatness through it. And maybe, just maybe… Repent. (“Cais”)
Throughout the journey, each adventure makes Cacau remember more and more of why she’s doing this and everything her past cost her. She struggles a lot to think she can be forgiven, or that she can change to become a better person, but remains a steady source of advice and emotional stability for the other Musiclings. (“Girassol da Cor do Seu Cabelo”; “Um Gosto de Sol”)
The brute work of the Canto itself is:
-Returning to B-Corp to retrieve Cacau’s Golden Bough, buried deep within the Old L-Corp base within the Nest, all while trying to remain under the radar. [Pt. I]
-Failing to do so as Vincent inevitably tracks her down and decides to get rid of her once he realizes she stole from B-Corp. [Pt. II]
-Cacau resonates with the Bough, reliving her past work with Tônia and Vincent, eventually forgiving herself and accepting she can change and grow. And of course, the confrontation with Vincent, as he cannot be allowed to reveal to B-Corp that she has stolen information from them. [Pt. III]
Ultimately, B-Corp doesn’t care about her “stealing”, probably because they are interested in Limbus’s work.
Cacau finally admits to herself, “I want to be a part of the dream.”

4# “Andy” — Born in The Outskirts — In their Mid 20’s
The Homecoming
Canto VII
“Andy” was born in The Outskirts, in a small village far away from The City, with only its lights being visible at night to entice their curiosity. Life in the Outskirts was rough, requiring “Andy” to learn a lot of unconventional abilities, and while everyday was fragile and simple, “Andy” felt out of place. While keeping nightwatch they’d gaze at The City’s lights and wish for an opportunity to leave for it, but their responsibilities in the village kept them from doing so, with everyone there having to play a key-role in their survival. One of them in particular deserved special recognition: The seasoned Hunter “Lucky”.
“Lucky” was the one that protected everyone from the dangers of the Outskirts, while “Andy” kept watch, warning The Hunter when they were needed. However, one day, a devious thought crossed “Andy”’s mind: If there was no village, there would be no need to keep watch, and they could go visit The City. It was a momentary lapse — A simple hesitation to call upon “Lucky” once danger was at the gates. That single moment was more than enough for carnage to follow suit, and in a single night their small village was razed to the ground. “Andy” and “Lucky” were the only two to survive, and the Hunter blamed all of it on “Andy”, as they had a single job to do and failed. Due to their injuries, “Lucky” couldn’t chase after “Andy”, but swore they’d get rid of them. “Andy” didn’t hesitate to run towards The City. (“Paranoid Android”)
Entering The City was a long, complicated and arduous process. Exams, fees, odd-jobs everywhere, all sorts of miserable experiences entirely new to “Andy”, but they were willing to pay whatever price was required to enter The City. Eventually “Andy” is accepted into R-Corp, but only due to their experience with the Outskirts and the Corporation’s exploration of the region. Despite being a huge asset to their explorations, “Andy” is still treated poorly simply because they’re not from The City, and during one of those expeditions “Lucky” finds them. They easily kill the whole exploration squad, minus “Andy”, who escapes by pure luck by falling deeper and into the Ruins. “Lucky” follows suit, but is unable to catch up, shouting and reminding “Andy” that “Either way you go, I’ll be there.” (“Climbing Up The Walls”)
Upon returning to R-Corp territory, “Andy” decides to not show their face again, knowing they would be blamed for it, and that they are not important enough for them to go looking for. Instead they moved to the Backstreets of I-Corp, soon after it was ravaged by The Pianist. Rent was cheap, work was easy to find and nobody wanted anything to do with it, so “Andy” took a chance. Eventually they land into a simple low-end Office, akin to Yun’s Office in LoR, which pays barely enough to keep the lights on. “Andy” still feels empty, and can’t even enjoy the lights of The City. Maybe the Outskirts weren’t so bad… Before they can begin regretting their choices though, “Lucky” finds their Office, killing everyone there to get to “Andy”. Hearing of this, “Andy” begins fleeing once again. (“Let Down”)
“Andy” ends up in a forest deep in D-Corp, after who knows how long of travelling around. “Andy” collapses to the ground, unable to keep moving, as they think of the struggles they suffered in the Outskirts, The Nests and The Backstreets. There is nowhere left for them to go, and there is only one wish they have: “Won’t someone take me away…” And there, as if waiting for them, is Cacau, with an offer they can’t refuse. Unhappy with everything in their life, “Andy” sees no reason to take the stranger's offer. (“Subterranean Homesick Alien”; “No Surprises”)
During their journey, “Andy” often reminisces about their time spent in different parts of the world, having strange and unexpected insights to give, contrasting their shy and introverted nature. Their ability to also keep their nerves in check is also remarkable, rarely freaking out about any and all situations. The only time they show signs of panicking is when the return to the Outskirts is mentioned, but by the start of their Canto proper, they have already resolved themselves. (“Airbag”)
It begins with their return to R-Corp and dealing with the potential fallback of R-Corp, composing [Pt. I] of the Canto, and their departure proper into the Outskirts. Despite everyone being nervous about it, since none of the Sinners have been there before, “Andy” assures them it is not so different from the city, only for “Lucky” to appear and promise they’ll never let “Andy” feel at home anywhere. While they do fight for a brief moment, “Andy” tells The Hunter they should finish this where it all started, and that one of them will die alongside the rest of their village. No more running away. (“Exit Music (For a Film)”)
In The Outskirts, “Andy” slowly realizes that their dissatisfaction with everything comes from within — While the world is truly an awful place, there is nowhere they’ll ever consider home if they don’t make an effort to turn it into their home. Simply drifting and running away from their past will not lead them anywhere. With newfound resolve, the Sinners reach the destroyed village in the Outskirts, overrun with multiple different creatures, some of them already dead due to “Lucky”. [Pt. II] (“Electioneering”)
Finally, the Bough resonates with “Andy” and takes them to the old village, where “Lucky” and “Andy” finally fight against one another. Both of them fled from their mistakes and found different ways to deal with the grief — “Andy” literally fled and avoided thinking about it altogether, imagining a place where they’d be happy, while “Lucky” put all the blame of the incident on a person who wasn’t even entirely responsible for it, freeing themselves from the guilt of being incapable of protecting others. I think “Lucky” manifests E.G.O. during the fight when faced with the realization they are also at fault for what happened, regardless of how inevitable it was. And finally, “Andy” kills “Lucky”, becoming the only remaining member of a village that should have stopped existing long, long ago. [Pt. III] (“Lucky”)
“Andy” breathes in the air of The Outskirts, realizing it is the exact same air as The City. With the Golden Bough recovered and their work done, “Andy” is offered to break free of their contract, but they reject it. For the first time ever, they are finally where they should be. (“The Tourist”)
"Andy" looks up at the starry night sky. “It’ll be alright.”

-The Ring Fauvism Docent "Andy"

7# Calliope — Born in District 9 / I-Corp — In her Mid 20’s
The Song Repeating
Canto X
Calliope is the eldest of nine sisters, born and raised in I-Corp’s Nest. While we don’t know much about it, we can assume the Nest involved music in some way, and because of her parent’s pressure to help them financially and her innate talent/interest in the arts, Calliope entered the music industry of The City. Now, if our world’s music industry is rotten as it is, I can only imagine how deplorable it can get in The City. Grueling training, inhuman schedules and physical stress were something she got used to from a young age.
In spite of her suffering (Or maybe because of it?), The City enjoyed her music — Maybe not on a large scale, but enough to keep her family afloat for a good time and have a certain level of fame. She didn’t particularly care for her parents, but her sisters deserved to live a good life devoid of struggles like hers. She could do this until she fell out of the spotlight for a newer, shinier idol to show up, but an influential and famous music producer had other plans for her — Homer was willing to work with her and take her to even greater heights. Calliope’s era of fame was about to begin, but she was going to pay a heavy price for it.
Homer, being a rather powerful individual in District 9 with connections to both the Thumb and the Ring, introduced to her a lifestyle vastly different from her rigid training routines and cold, lifeless tutors — A life of extravagant luxury within the top 1% of I-Corp’s Nest. A life of excessive, needless violence in the Backstreets. Grotesque artworks and galleries of the Ring and personal performances & shows for the Capos of The Thumb. I’d like to make it very muddled as to the depth of Calliope’s relationship with Homer, but it is definitely unhealthy and toxic, regardless of how you choose to view it. All the while, Calliope prepares and records new songs to enthrall and capture the heart of The City, but more and more of her disgust and hatred for what she sees everyday drips into the lyrics. She could simply sing the material Homer gives her, but Calliope decides to write and use her own instead, a much more raw, intimate and emotional set of songs. (“Hoodoo”)
However, before Calliope can sing her songs to booked stadiums and Homer can scream at her about it in the backstage, something else happens: The Pianist. In a moment, 80% of District 9 is decimated. Only the rich and powerful manage to flee, Homer having to drag Calliope away before she too was lost in the music. The entire situation and how it was handled only served to make Calliope’s hatred grow more and more intense, with her breaking off Homer’s sphere of influence and going after her family in the aftermath of The Pianist’s rampage. Amidst the ruins, Calliope realizes these everyday tragedies only occur because of The City, and she swears she’ll find a way to deliver retribution. (“Take a Bow”)
Despite being alone, Calliope wanders the ravaged streets of I-Corp, using the little of her voice left as a beacon to save others and, hopefully, find her family. Sadly her efforts are in vain, as despite her managing to rescue a few individuals and find a lead on potentially one of her sisters, the Ring takes notice of her actions, in a frenzy about the majestic performance of The Pianist. Despite her efforts to rally the group against the syndicate, most of the survivors are killed and the Ring threatens to kidnap and take Calliope back to Homer. Calliope snaps, her hatred of The City and wish for its destruction taking over her as she Distorts into The Muse of Mars. (“Map of The Problematique”)
When she eventually comes to be, being beaten out of her Distortion by a Mysterious Fixer of the Crimson Variety, Calliope is truly alone in the ruins of I-Corp. And yet, her heart remains true — The City must pay for its sins. She now has made herself a proper enemy of The Ring, and will need to prepare herself accordingly to the hardships to come. In a sense, I imagine this is her Mini-Carmen arc — An extremely charismatic and influential woman amassing followers towards her goal. Amongst these followers is Eddie Blue, our #6 Sinner, who has left the Middle and has beef with the Five Fingers as a whole. Though Calliope’s sphere of influence is much smaller than it used to be, it is still enough to deal with minor Syndicates and slowly but surely spread the message over the course of a few months — There is a force brewing within the belly of the City. (“Assassin”)
However, she is obviously biting more than she can chew. Casualties still happen during these “dismantlings” of Syndicates, and even in events supposed to just rally and excite people, Calliope’s songs manage to cause enough of an uproar people end up injured or worse. She is amassing more enemies and more targets on her back. However, she is incapable of seeing that, the only thing in her mind being vengeance against Homer and retribution to The City. I also like to think her songs always end up so violent due to Carmen’s influence on her songwriting post-distortion. (“Supermassive Black Hole”; “Exo-Politics”)
During a particularly violent punk-rock performance in the Backstreets of District 21 by Calliope, a Young Brother of the Middle and a Student of the Ring, each pursuing their respective Target, “crashed the party”. Both Eddie and Calliope only survive due to Cacau’s interference alongside an already recruited member of the Music-Sinners (cough cough Giorgio). With that, Cacau offers Calliope a way to escape the heat, and most importantly: change The City for the better. Immediately Calliope agrees to join the LCB. (“Knights of Cydonia”)
Through the journey with the LCB, Calliope’s beliefs are only strengthened, and her resolve to change the City bolstered. The small changes she sees in the world and her fellow Sinners only makes her more certain of the path ahead and straighten her beliefs, even if she’s still blinded at how violent her approach to it ends up being, even if by accident. (“Starlight”)
Finally, Calliope’s turn to the chopping block comes, and she’s electric, even if her Bough is in a less-than-ideal location: In a Maestro’s Gallery within the Backdoors, and to get to it she’ll need to serve as bait, having a bounty on her head by the Ring and all that. The plan is simple: Cause enough of a ruckus in the Backdoors to catch their attention then simply let Calliope be taken, and chase after her with the Aspiring W-Corp/Wayfarer’s help. However, things immediately go astray once the Docent that steps through to collect her is none other than Homer himself, having finally admitted himself to the Ring proper. Immediately, Calliope is unable to control her emotions and clashes head on with Homer, failing miserably and being kidnapped under less than ideal circumstances. [Pt. I]
Homer explains his belief in art and how the creativity of the citizens of the City should be allowed to run rampant, regardless of how gruesome they may be — How their art pieces should be free to affect and influence others as music does, without reprimand or consent; When a song plays, your only option is to listen. Just like how Calliope’s music was to influence the masses, before The Pianist changed Homer’s plans. That’s the justice of the City — The law of the jungle.
Calliope barks back that art shouldn’t be used so recklessly, and instead should be used to elevate the masses and bring comfort to those suffering, but Homer laughs before calling her a hypocrite — All her music ever did was cause misery and suffering. To her family, to the people she tried to rescue that fateful day, to the people she tried to lead to a better future and now to her friends, following along with her song. Calliope wants to talk back, but can’t, because Homer is right. Like a beautiful black hole, she consumes and destroys everything that gets too close. (“City of Delusion”)
In the end she was Homer’s perfect muse, ending up exactly as he projected: A source of suffering. Calliope, The Muse of Mars, Distorts. Luckily, The Sinners are there to bring her back to reason, through a mixture of violence and reassurance that her voice does more than sow despair. It nurtures hope for a better future, and while people can’t unhear a song, they can choose to ignore it. Her songs and the hope they brought were not ignored. Coming back to her senses, Calliope and the Sinners chase after Homer. With her companions she feels (“Invincible”). [Pt. II]
In the Maestro’s Gallery, Calliope and Homer finally fight, with her accepting that her ideals to change The City and the songs she will bring with her will lead to bloodshed, but compared to the senseless slaughter of The City, anything is better. If suffering will be had, let it be for something glorious. Homer clings to his idea of “the strong prevail!” until he’s pushed onto the backfoot, where he’s forced to realize that there is no justice in The City, to which Calliope, remembering the atrocities she was forced to see under his wing, can only reply: “There never was.” [Pt. III] (“Soldier’s Poem”)
There is, however, a teeny tiny problem — The Maestro hosting Homer, Monet, now looming over them. However, fickle as The Ring is, LCB is simply allowed to go their way, as the performance they gave Monet was honestly quite incredible. They will be keeping an eye on Calliope though, much to her dismay. Despite having suffered a lot, she’s proud of what she’s achieved, not only by herself, but together with the LCB.
Calliope laughs and stands proud. "Oh, we will be glorious!"
A bit messy at parts, but I think it paints the picture I want to display pretty clearly. I'll do another 3 come next post, and maybe some of these IDs here if some folks out there show any interest. Thank you for reading!
Most OCs I see floating around for Limbus Company are often based on written works like books and plays, which is definitely awesome, but uhhh... It's been a while since I read a book, and I listen to a lot of music. Like, a lot lot.
So I made some of my favorite Albums into Sinner OCs! Both Sprite form and their ID Cards. I might do E.G.O. for them but that's a lot more complicated to draw, so might take a looong while. Especially with me doing like so many art projects at once...
It's a mega-post under the cut, going into lots of details about backstory, design choices, music trivia, etc. Click at your own risk!
Still here? Awesome. I drew everything on Krita, per usual, and while I could replicate Limbus's style for the character portraits, I decided to just use it as practice for my usual style instead. Not everyday you get to draw a bunch of busts repeatedly...
These Alt-Sinners, the Musiclings from now onwards, are all inspired by some of my favorite albums. I picked a mix of what's commonly accepted as great albums and my own individual, personal picks - As much as I'd love to, I'm not gonna make a "Hot Pink" by Doja Cat Sinner... Unless...
Two specific Albums are from my home country of Brazil, including the oldest one there, "Clube da Esquina", released in 1972, 5 years before "Animals". Which also means the Musiclings are hopefully ordered by release date, from 1# to 12# (or 13#, since Dante would be 10#... and probably a music player of sorts.)
Some of these Musiclings are more developed then others simply because... Well, there's more I can think of!!! And these are all my interpretations and personal feelings towards these Albums. Music is subjective, after all.
--//--//--
1# Cacau - "Clube da Esquina" by Lô Borges and Milton Nascimento, two legends of Popular Brazilian Music. Her name comes from the album cover, which depicts two boys sitting on a dirt road, with one of the boys being nicknamed Cacau. Her symbol of a simple sunflower is in reference to the song she's mostly based of - "Girassol da Cor do Seu Cabelo", or "Sunflower the Color of Your Hair", translated.
The album does not have a narrative in itself, but the themes of its songs are all loosely connected - Unfulfilled potential. Stifled growth. Cacau would be a Backstreets kid that lived the dream - Did everything she could do, got into a nice Nest, rose the ranks of her company and then... Well, plummeted for personal reasons. I keep thinking of B-Corp for her, but we know so little about it, it's hard to place her somewhere.
She's classy. Sassy. A little full of herself, since she would take the role of Faust as the know-it-all assistant to our musical Dante, but it is partially a mask to hide her deep, deep sorrow. She has older clothes and mannerisms befitting the 60's. Pre-Contract she'd be maybe 3rd or 4th weakest, but that's before expulsion from her Nest. She'd give everyone a run for their money if she was still backed by her Nest.
She's from B-Corp. Her weapon's a single-edged "wooden" sword, which I imagine can grow and shrink to a degree, as if it was a real live plant. Probably is. It is engraved with "Girassol".
--//--//--
#2 Carolyne Floyd - "Animals" by Pink Floyd, one of the greats from the 70's. I could do "Dark Side of the Moon", I could do "The Wall", but none of them speak as deeply to me as "Animals". Especially "Pigs on The Wing 1 & 2", which gives her name - The singer's then wife at the time was called Carolyne. And well, Floyd is a surname in itself, isn't it?
The album's narrative, being based loosely of Animal Farm, is pretty clear cut. Revolution. Or in her case, a simple change of who's in power. Our dear Carolyne here is a butcher from District 23 - Warp Corp territory - So she would be a human butcher as well, since that is acceptable in those parts. Hers is a story of breaking free from the traps of The City, regardless of who's in charge.
First thing that came in mind when thinking of her design was simple: Farms and butchers. Big fluffy sheep hair? Farm. Bloody white shoes? Butcher. Cow-print headband? Farm. The tag marking her as #2? Butcher. She's a docile, shy woman, but is easily the physically strongest of the group. A gentle giant archetype, if you will. The symbol is a smoking factory landscape, from her time working.
She's from W-Corp. Her weapon's a butcher knife, oversized and increased in weight, with a notch for her to hold onto while cleaving bone. It is engraved with "Pig".
--//--//--
#3 Johnny Brown - "Devil Went Down To Georgia" by Charlie Daniels Band. Okay. This one is based on a single song, but it's because this whole thing started with him. I was just casually listening to some rock, this came up and I was like "huh this is a story. You could make a sinner out of this." And well. Here we are.
The song and it's sequel (which actually exists!) are all about this prideful little bastard named Johnny Brown winning a bet against the Devil from The Bible and getting a golden fiddle out of it. Our Johnny here is from X-Corp, where the "Hellholes" of Limbus are located. Somehow, someway, Johnny got into a bet with some sort of entity in these holes, and got his Golden Crossbow from that bet. While he thinks he got a good deal out of it, that will prove to be a bad decision very, very soon.
Design wise, there is the Primus version of the song, made out of stop-motion. That was my main inspiration for a hillbilly country boy - Overalls, straw hat, etc. His ID, however, is based on Charlie Daniels stage outfit itself - Black vest and red shirt. The little wheat straw is also just a classic for these kinds of characters. The symbol is a burning note and a fiddle bow.
He's from X-Corp. His weapon is the golden fiddle from hell. It is engraved with "VI VI VI".
--//--//--
#4 "Andy" - "OK Computer" by Radiohead, considered by a lot of people to be the best rock album ever. Supposedly. An album filled with feelings of displacement in modern society and the struggles technology brings with it. "Subterranean Homesick Alien" was the song that inspired "Andy", short for Android, and it is a banger.
No, they're not an Android, but I think the feeling of being one is there. I imagine they're not originally from The City - "Andy" is from the Outskirts, and simply could not adjust to the realities of The City - The crushing wheels of reality got to them, completely displacing their worldview. If The City and The Outskirts are both the same in the end, there's only one place left for them to go. Beyond the nebulae...
The space motiff, given the futuristic themes of the album felt fitting, like the small stars on their hair and the solar-system mace. Them being so pale is also a nod to the whole Android idea. If you notice, their tie is actually inside out! And their symbol is, of course, a little cow being abducted. Their E.G.O. is the one I want to draw the most, but no spoilers.
They're from the Outskirts. Their weapon is a mace based off the solar system. It is engraved with "OK..."

#5 VIKTOR VAUGHN - "Operation: Doomsday" by MF DOOM, the metal face villain himself. MF DOOM used a lot of different names in his entire discography to release songs, and one of those names is Viktor Vaughn. All of these names, however, are villainous in nature, as that was the character he embodied. The main song inspiration for him though was "Vaudeville Villain".
I don't think Viktor is a good person. He probably ran his own Syndicate, and I think he was very good at it as well. The kind of professional, cold theatricals that raises problems. He was no Star of the City, but maybe an Urban Plague, beginning to dip his toes into Urban Nightmare. Maybe the situation got too hot to handle, and he was forced into a contract to clear his situation.
Also, while it is a dubious and heavily unexplored part of the PM universe... I think he's just magic. Like how the original Dr. Doom character can do spells, Viktor either uses similar technology or is straight up magic. I really would like PM to explore that but, hey, maybe in Canto 23. His metal mask is a prosthetic, and his hat has a MF in it. Like motherfu-
He's from V-Corp. His weapon is a book of rhymes used to cast "magic". It is engraved with "ALL CAPS."

#6 Eddie Blue - "Nada Como Um Dia Após O Outro Dia", by Racionais MC's. This is the deep cut of these Sinner OCs. Brazilian old-school rap is something I grew up listening, and it holds a very special place in my heart. It is composed of Mano Brown, Edi Rock and Ice Blue, and from those three comes this man - Brown's appearance, and Edi(ie) Blue's names. The main song from this one is "Vida Loka Pt. 2" in specific. Translates to "Crazy Life", or something akin to that.
The album is about the struggles of the black and impoverished lower-class of Brazil, the profit made out of crime, the shackles it imposes on those that participate and the struggles that force them into it. As such, Eddie is from the Backstreets and a member of The Middle. Former member, that is, looking to leave that life behind and paying all the prices that come with it. I like to imagine he was a Big Brother, akin to Ricardo, due to the sheer influence of Racionais MC's in Brazil.
You may see some similarities in the Album cover and Eddie's pants, alongside a lot of ice on his fingers and wrist, common fashion choices for those in the rap game. The molotov symbol and hat being a hue of pastel beige is reference to one of their lyrics - "Jesus in beige pants, devil in a suit", and he uses the hat to hide his enhancement tattoos.
He's from U-Corp. The weapon is a cheap machete, associated with cartels and Syndicates. It is engraved with "Vida Loka".

7# Calliope - "Black Holes & Revelations" by Muse. I LOVE MUSE! YEAH!!! High energy rock and roll telling me to destroy the government, incredibly based. Not a lot of names to draw from there though, except that Calliope is the greatest Greek Muse, and that is close enough for me. "Knights of Cydonia" was the specific song I had in mind for her, but honestly, they're all bangers. Go listen to "Assassin" right now.
Revolution is the name of the Album and the one goal Calliope has. I think she, above everyone else, hates the City the most. She probably partook in something like the Yurodiviye and had influence as a musician, and once she realized Limbus is (maybe) aiming to chop The Head off, she was on board. Speaking of which, how is the music landscape in The City? That's gotta be messed up. She hates that too.
Her design has a lot of small details. The black hole colored eyes for the "Supermassive Blackhole" song. The four pins she wears? The four different horsemen - Conquest (Crown), War (Sword), Famine (Apple) and Death (Skull), all with their respective horse's color on the pins. Even her gold chain on the ID has a horse. She's a horsie girl now. Oh, and the symbol is a knight - A horseman, if you will. Of the apocalyptic kind.
She's from I-Corp. Her weapon is a microphone, screaming her lungs out to cause damage, akin to G-Corp Outis. It is engraved with "Revelation".
--//--//--
#8 Alain Randall - "Cross" by Justice. I LOVE JUSTICE! YEAH!!! One of the greatest french EDM duos of all time, and they don't get recognized enough. More people need to know they are the G.O.A.T.! "Alan" and "Randy" are both songs by the duo, and since they are french, "Alan" became "Alain" and "Randy" became Randall, a surname. The song that inspired Alain however is "Stress".
"Stress" video clip was banned from being aired in a few places due to being just... well, stressful. A kind of raw violence you don't see often. The song is also very stressing, which is awesome! Alain was a Fixer before being hired, one hired for "clean up". His office was part of Shi Association, and besides the main target, his job was probably also "sending a message". He's the only remaining member of his office, and wants to settle the score with whoever got rid of the rest of his crew.
The outfit from the ID is based on the video, while the very stylish arm is an homage to Ultrakill (I couldn't help myself) and the "Generator" video, in which robots, uh. Well. They uh "get intimate".
He's from V-Corp. His weapon is his prosthetic arm, from a high-end workshop. It is engraved with "Stress".
--//--//--
#9 Nemo - "Plastic Beach", by Gorillaz. Ahhh... What an album. I almost picked "Demon Days", but this one just edged it out by a little. Plus, it has a clearer narrative and a name for inspiration - Point Nemo, the most isolated part of the ocean, and where the story of the album takes place. "Melancholy Hill" is the song that inspired it, though "Stylo" is a close second.
The Album, unlike the other ones, has a pretty clear story with Gorillaz having lore and all, but I'd like to mix in the songs with the events behind the scenes as well. Nemo was part of a crew, kind of like Ishmael, but after a disaster she was separated from them. It took a long time for her to return, but once she got there something was already in her place - A thing from the Outskirts taking her life from her. Instead of trusting her, her old crew trusted the thing, and Nemo was left to fend for herself.
Design wise, Noodle in the Plastic Beach era is the most clear-cut inspiration possible. It is hard to deviate from a design that's already so good, but I tried leaning more into the jovial, carefree spirit, with looser clothes and even uniform that the LCB probably wouldn't allow anyone else to wear. She is the kind that wouldn't take no for an answer, unless forced to.
She's from U-Corp. Her weapon is a harpoon, used to hunt in District 21/U-Corp. It is engraved with "Manatee".
--//--//--
#11 Jenny Death - "Year of The Snitch" by Death Grips. Now, I did mess up. This Album came out in 2018, while the next one came out in 2013. I will not be fixing that. "Jenny Death" is the first part of the two-part Album "The Powers That B", with the second part getting me cancelled forever if I say it out loud. I could pick "Money Store", but guess what? This album is better. And Jenny Death's main song inspiration was "Black Paint"
Jenny has some sort of disease which burns and corrodes her flesh, thus the black marks - I think all sort of sickness is created in The City, and it doesn't get particularly explored, so having someone carry this inconceivable situation with her is really interesting! I also think she's a good view into drugs of the city. That District 1 zaza hitting different...
Augmentation tattoos and bare fists are all a woman that's crazy out of her mind needs to fight. The hat comes from "The Money Store"'s cover, and the many tattoos are all inspired by MC Ride, the lead... singer? Of Death Grips? The MC. And of course, the symbol is the demonic fly over the heart, dripping with black paint. A representation of Beelzebub, I believe. Don't quote me on that.
She's from D-Corp. Her fists are all she needs, marked with enhancement tattoos. They're engraved with "Death".

#12 Giovanni Giorgio Moroder - "Random Access Memories", by Daft Punk. The original french EDM duo that took over the world, with reason since they made banger after banger for years, all while remaining mysterious under their helmets. Giorgio's name comes from his signature song, "Giorgio by Moroder", which is in turn a reference to Moroder, one of the father's of EDM.
Giorgio's story is a story repeating all across The City. A man wishing for freedom, doing it through his career as a Fixer. Sacrifices made to achieve greater Ranks, Offices left behind, family and friends abandoned, all for the pursuit of "freedom" and the prestigious Title of Color. Giorgio lost everything that made him himself in that pursuit. Rediscovery and remembering his life is the meaning of his journey with the rest of the cast.
I think it is lame to be like, "My OC is super mega powerful :)" cuz that's boring. But this is Daft Punk, the face of EDM, and Moroder, the father of the whole genre. I really would like Giorgio to have been a solidified Grade 1 before becoming a washed up Grade 9 Fixer, and definitely the strongest of the Musiclings pre-contract. Anyway. Moroder is the obvious inspiration for him, alongside cool 90's action old men. Love those.
He's from N-corp. The katana he wields is another homage to those 90's action old men and the tropes of "the cool guy with a katana". It is engraved with "Privo Di Armonia (Devoid of Harmony)".
--//--//--
#13 Birdboy - "The New Abnormal" by The Strokes. This is the most recent Album on the list, and I adore it. The Strokes have always landed for me with Indie Rock, and their songs just always hit me where it hurts most. However, they leave little inspiration in the department of names. So, I decided to just go with something simple... Birdboy.
The youngest by far, Birdboy's story is similar to Sinclair's, involving N-Corp, Inquisitors and Prosthetics Users, as the Album all harks back to that feeling of making a choice, regretting it and having to live with it. I think Birdboy's mother was a prosthetic user fleeing from persecution, with Birdboy helping her as a good son. However, due to a mistake of his part, a single moment he took his eyes away from her, she was taken by the extremists and he was left for dead. Learning to live with his perceived mistake and struggling with vengeance is the journey for this kid.
Design wise there's a few cues here and there. The scarred eye comes from the rabbit from "At The Door"'s video clip. The pistol is from their second album, "Room On Fire", and the blue feather/feather coat is from, well, the Album cover right there. His haircut is like that of Julian Casablancas, and the casual look of a tunic rather than a social shirt is due to his age - He's still a kid compared to everyone else. Maybe even just turned 18? Labor laws in the city must not be very strict after all.
He's from N-Corp. His weapon is a revolver, though he doesn't fire any bullets. They're expensive after all. It is engraved with "Abnormal".
--//--//--
There's a few more thingies here and there, if you're curious about some general design ideas and thoughts.
I didn't give everyone Lust Affinity since that's boring. Instead, themes and songs from the Album made up their Sin Affinity:
Wrath - Lyrics about causing violence onto yourself or others.
Lust - Lyrics about sexual activities.
Sloth - Lyrics about stagnancy, conformity and acceptance.
Gluttony - Lyrics about drug usage and excessive indulgence.
Gloom - Lyrics about longing, sadness and overall moodiness.
Envy - Lyrics about change (Or desire to change) and for different things.
Pride - Reserved for those extremely influential in their genre, or with uplifting, almost military-like hymns and anthems.
Pre-Contract Strength (Weak > Strong):
#13 Birdboy > #4 Andy > #7 Calliope > #1 Cacau > #9 Nemo > #3 Johnny > #11 Jenny > #2 Carolyne > #8 Alain > #5 Viktor > #6 Eddie > #12 Giorgio
Viktor's the tallest (196cm), Birdboy's the smallest (157cm)
Maybe I'll think more about this if people are interested, but that's all I got for now! Thank you for your time!
Hellou! I've been MIA for a while but I'm gonna try to be back for art here and there, no promises.
Artwork for a TTRPG project I have, with unironically 400+ pages of content - Something I have genuinely been working on for years. Anyway. I'll just drip it here and there before I release it properly on RPG DriveThru. TW for like, spiders ig...

Gentle House Assoc. Director Rodya (Nicole.)
Fixer Don (Billy - Just change "Fixers" for "Power Rangers" and you're good, even got a mysterious past to go along with it!)
Fixer Faust / Silver Squad Captain Faust (Anby - You can take the Silver Squad as the Gesellschaft and roll with it)
Fixer Ishmael (Nekomiya - There's no real reason. I just wanted to keep giving Ishmael asian-inspired IDs)
I am withholding Lycaon Heathcliff and Ben Bigger Yi Sang until I'm back from vacation. It's my own personal treat for not getting Digitan on her Uma Banner...
this is based on a scene from the fic "Sketches of a Rose" on Ao3 by @wdflowers!! I really enjoyed it and this scene fills my heart <33 please send them all the love and check out the fic too!
also hi! This is a lot of firsts for me: my first time posting on here, my first try at digital art, and my first umamusume art! The lineart was sketched out on paper before I scanned it and used MS paint with a mouse to draw it out, colour and shade, but I hope to be getting better tools soon and am really wanting to learn! I may also post some paper sketches too if people would like that <33
concrit is appreciated :)) I'm aware its a bit flat lol, may redo when I'm more experienced with digital art/have actual digital drawing pencils
hi! im new to tumblr so haven't figured everything out yet (so idk if this is a thing i should ask lol), but I really loved ur sketches of a rose fic on ao3! I was wondering if you'd be ok with me or anyone else making fanart/mihorice art inspired by ur fic with credit to you, links to your fic, etc.? absolutely no pressure and thought I'd ask before doing so :))
Feel free to! I appreciate any and all art inspired by any of my works! It's exciting to think that it had that much impact in the first place, so thank you for reading!
Just finished reading your Rice/Bourbon fic on Ao3 ! Enjoyed it very much, and discovered a talented artist ! Have a good day !
Thank you! I've been kind of off the grid for a while because I'm working really hard on a massive project, but I'm glad people keep checking my fics and art! Maybe I'll share some news about it in a few weeks... Maybe...

Callsign: Manhattan Cafe
AC Name: GENTLE NIGHT
Cafe in the cockpit, what will she do... So, the whole reason I drew this is a doozy: Someone in this damned website did an Uma x AC6 whole thing and that got the AC worms in my brain wriggling... (I don't remember ur name sorgy...)
And that got me thinking about Cafe's extremely schizo-coded thing she has going on with Sunday Silence! Just like C4-621 and Ayre! And the rest is history. If there's anyone that can be Trainer Walter's mercenary hound it's Cafe. Love all of those characters.
I thought about drawing the mech, but I don't feel like it!
A demon of knowledge.
A Commission! Drawing non-humanoid things is surprisingly fun even if it isn't my ballpark. I particularly like the grayscale version, but there's also colored and transpared... trtans.... transperet... png...
Understand the concept of Uma!
Some JSR / Bomb Rush inspired Pocket and Tachyon for you. The OSTs for both of those are insanely good and hyped me through drawing this!
Also, "Bolso da Selva minnha amada 🇧🇷"
Infinite hunger for overwhelming strength.
Tamamo Cross and Oguri Cap for Strength 8! I feel like most Umas fit for the definitions of strength, but given the existence of Cinderella Gray, I have picked these two to represent that endless pursuit.
Speaking of Cinderella Gray, I am almost done reading it for my next fic, which I can only comment as "Incredibly Manipulative & Toxic Doomed Yuri"! I will make some art in regards to it once I'm done and also as a little teaser, I suppose.
Man, I came home late after a jazz show with a few friends and blitzed this one. I need some sleep!
That's right. I have done it. I have turned 1000-THR "Earthmover", famous Ultrakill Layer 7 - Violence Boss, into a horsiepop Umamusume.
Now, I will ramble about my design choices under the cut, to spare you the madness.
We shall name her "1000 Benjamins", or just Benjamin for the rest of this, and we begin her design choices from the bottom up! My main point of reference was the concept art for the Earthmover, and that's what I translated into the design.
Since Benjamin is stuck to the flesh of the earth itself in the boss fight, her boots begin with the meaty red and then turn metallic gray. The gray itself goes from dark to light, due to how the pieces of the Earthmover itself go from darker pieces to lighter ones on its legs.
The right thigh's fishnet is based on the intersecting scaffolding pattern on the concept art, and the fact that leg is exposed and open during the fight, allowing you to climb it.
The tail has that same fishnet pattern to it due to the crane on the Earhtmover's rear end, and the coat itself is based on japanese military coats, due to Earthmover's japanese writings and how it is a war machine.
I was going to add some japanese writing to Benjarmin's left arm, but decided against it since the original has nothing that can be compared to a left arm, thus leaving that space entirely blank.
The draping red cloth on the longer side of the coat is meant to be the blood-falls that you can open up during the fight while climbing Earthmover.
Like the real Earthmover, the insides are all meaty-red, thus the shirt to signify it. The choker has that construction pattern due to the arena of boiling blood inside it having those same type of platforms.
The exposed spine is the same as Earthmover. The military badges on Benjamin are blue because of V1, Earthmover's "Jockey", and have white parts in them to represent the many lights of the Earthmover. The pink stripe is it's brain.
The right arm has it's lights around, and the most important part of the design there is the glove - It only covers the index and middle finger, which become white at the tip. Why? So when you make a little pew-pew gun with Benjamin's hand, it forms a spear-tip, same as Earthmover's actual spear gun.
Benjamin's hair is top dark and cascades into gray, like the Earthmover, and her eyes are white, same as the Earthmover's six eyes - Represented by the white coat having 6 horizontal points. I tried making the eyes instead and it looked... Goofy, to say the least.
Last but not least, the earrings on it's ears are simple electrical wiring, with an antenna on the left side, telling us that Earthmover was a female horse in real life, before finding itself in the 7th layer of hell. Go girlie!
I was going to cover her ears, as if she was a horse that wore a mask, but... I forgot! I just remembered it as I type this down. Such is life!
Working with nothing but grays and reds is hard...

An unfaltering belief and an ideal worth striving for.
Air Groove as The Hierophant! With a side of Mr. CB and Brian as the Student Council, and a big oak branch. If you know, you know...
I will tell you, this game has a way of making you love the characters it's insane, I barely cared for Air Groove and now I like her a lot lot. Slammed my table when she got 2nd Vs. Suzuka...
