something I think of often is that sometimes an audience won't have a voice until later. the star wars prequels were panned by critics and adult fans at the time but there are so many interviews where the cast realise that the kids at the time loved it and weren't able to say so until they got older. halle berry won a razzie for playing catwoman but 15 years later the kids who grew up watching that movie are cosplaying her catwoman on tiktok. older shows find new fans all the time thanks to streaming, too. hell, rocky horror picture show bombed when it was first released but became a classic years later thanks to cult screenings. idk what I'm trying to say. things take time to be loved and understood, yes. but sometimes, more often than you think, it takes time for people to have the ability to say they loved something. that's a bit comforting to me as a little wee writer. <3
