i find it funny how i deeply find wave attractive (#needthat) (#letmehit) (#thirstyforthatwave). i wasnt bothered by the fact that he's an evil scheming cultist (since i have horrid taste in men). i didnt like him any less when i found out he was mr geriatric himself.

okay OBVIOUSLY wave is the Betrayer manipulator who sees people as tools. he caters himself to be the most trustworthy version he can be for someone. he works to fulfill his own selfishness.

however

i think that he does have some desire to be a friend/companion/whatever to deacon. to me, it seems that deacon is a part of his selfishness not because he's useful for getting his wish, but because deacon IS a part of the wish.

living as a young man again? deacon can be his peer

getting back into acting? deacon could be his fan

a part of being from a specific age group is hanging around people in your age group. if wave is trying to go back to his early 20s, deacon is the closest one to being an equal to him.

when he tells deacon that they can hang out after it's all over (when he gets his youth back) i think that he means it to some extent.
