Tips for Wattpad

Let's talk about Wattpad's algorithm. This is based on research I have done or just some things I have seen while on Wattpad.

What does the algorithm do? Wattpad uses an algorithm that considers factors such as a story's popularity, trendiness, and user engagement, plus the relevance of the tags used and when the author last updated the story. Stories are featured and surfaced on the Top 10 row via an algorithm based on their recent popularity trends and engaged readers, updated every few hours. You need a combination of reads, votes, comments, and even adding your story to reading lists to climb rankings.

I am still learning as well, but these tips have helped me improve my writing.

Try to have all of your sentences flow together. Sometimes, reading choppy sentences makes it hard to get into a story. To prevent this, you can read your story back to yourself; this also helps with grammar

Make sure you have a variation of sentences {long and short}.

Make sure you use proper punctuation and grammar. You can use Grammarly to help with spelling and grammar, even if you just write your story in a Google document before putting it on Wattpad will help with your spelling.
