he's just been a shit to people and has stinky vibes

he sheltered bingham and didn't speak up about the allegations, and yet when another crew member was accused of equally bad behavior they were kicked off the team almost immediately

since he's taken over, things seem more money oriented, he doesn't seem like he's doing it because it's something he loves and sees EW more as a way to make a buck (moving 90% of the content to patreon, making the discord paid access only, pushing the merch angle super hard, putting sponsored ads in videos) it just feels really scummy and this is mostly speculation but it just doesn't feel like he cares about it

he's also said some really abelist and shitty stuff to/about fans

also there was a blog that was documenting like everything at the height of all of this, like when bingham was accused and all that, had a google doc tracking it all and everything and it "mysteriously was deleted" one day out of the blue with no explanation ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

And that happens, of course it does. Things change, interests change, you find new things to fixate on. But the behavior of Hargreaves, Bingham, and other members of the crew haven’t helped that. They’ve definitely driven a wedge into my desire to stay interested in EW, both with their actions and with the content they’ve released. Maybe I’m looking through the eyes of someone already jaded by their behavior, but everything they’ve done recently has just felt petty, mean, and carries the stink of “doing it for the money”, not people who love what they’re doing.

Losing respect and getting hurt by the creators of a thing you loved? Yeah, you don’t come back from that. It leaves a mark. And it fucking sucks.

Did being reminded of my TMNT love drag me away from EW? Yeah of course it fucking did. But the gap was already there. I was already unhappy and drifting away. TMNT just gave me somewhere to go.

I’m still going to finish Nighted Doors. I love Nighted Doors. I worked too hard on it not to finish it. It’s fun. And as far as I’m concerned, it’s not Eddsworld. It’s mine. It’s my baby. My horrible, bloody, traumatizing, wretched little baby.

So. Yeah. Not really into EW anymore. Just letting you all know why this blog is basically dead. And I think admitting it to myself too. Get it off my chest.
