nightmare broken free

    The masked woman knew exactly why the corvus were looking their way – or rather, her way. This was not the first time they silently watched, waiting to make their move. After all, they were scavengers, and they knew she was, by all accounts, dead. However, they knew better than to meddle with an embodiment of evil. Instead, they patiently waited, possibly hoping she would, once and for all, drop dead.

    Dark orbs observed the scenario. Whether it be to her left or her right, all that scattered across the ground was dead. She could hardly move without her shoes nudging against a lifeless body. The smell was overwhelming and, had she not been used to it, would have assaulted her nostrils. War was a bloody setting, but this particular area was not the result of a gruesome battle.

    A wide smile broke out behind what covered her face as the woman gazed at her next victim.
