Wargaming Bumblebee

Part 5 and final.  We have the last of our Reaper Bones Miniatures with three of the most heroic - a mageknight, an elvish warrior and a paladin.  However we also have a treat in the form of Quetzali from Antimatter Games, from their Deepwars game.  I actually started painting her in June alongside the monsters (not that I think she’s villainous, purely that I was painting snake people and she has a snake...) however I wasn’t happy enough with her progress when I got to the end of the month.  So I decided to sit on her (not literally) and work on her a bit longer.  Here you can see the results of that decision.

Part 4 (and one more to come - downside to going for pairs when I should have painted some threes...).  This time we have gals vs guys in the form of a warrior, a dragon hunter, a ranger and some screaming guy with sideburns.

Part 3 of July’s miniatures.  We have a bard, a squire and a couple of dwarven adventurers.

Our second batch from July.  If the last lot were questionable heroes, the first batch of ‘knights’ are treading an even finer line.  We have a Blood Knight, a Bone Knight and a Demon Knight (ok, to be fair assuming the demon is evil is tantamount to racism.  The look on his face makes me feel like he’s much more reasonable than the other two).  Then we have a couple of Elves, a shaman and a warrior.

Another month, another missed deadline.  I’ve actually been on hiatus for a bit, and left August’s entries in the capable hands of my friend Louie.  However what I failed to leave in his capable hands was the log ins for the Tumblr, and what with also forgetting to post July’s entry I’m afraid you’re probably all feeling a bit neglected.  Never fear, for I shall be bringing you back up to date.  First up we have twelve heroes from Reaper Miniature’s Bones line (this bunch may be on the questionable side of heroic however). We have a couple of female pirates with plenty o’ booty (no sexism intended), as well as some assassins and what can only be described as an executioner barbarian...

4th and final installment, we have reptile people!  Medusae, both single-pair and multi-armed, snake warriors and lizardmen.  And finally, a sneak peak of this month’s models - we’ve had the monsters, so for balance we have heroes...

Part 3 - we have golems.  Flesh golem, stone golem, clay golem and metal golem.  If you can bring it, we can make a golem out of it.

2nd installment of June’s late submission, we have a troll and 3 undead models.  Alright so one is a swarm of bats.  But they’re near a tombstone, so it still counts...

So I realised I mistakenly didn’t post my June entries on the ol’ tumblr, apologies for that.  Please find the the first batch of entries for last month here.  They are all Reaper Bones models, first up is a mob of 6 orcs.

Well this month I didn’t quite make it.  Thanks to an unexpected day off work I was able to do a bit more work on it, however she’s still nowhere near finished.  The extensive conversion work I had planned took a lot longer than planned, and to be honest probably would have needed the month just to get that far!  However, here's what I've got so far - the remodelled Relic for Candy & Cola from Relic Knights.

So last time I posted I hinted that I would be making some werewolves this month... well, such is the life of the wargaming bumblebee, I changed my mind.  A group I’m a member of are doing a challenge to finish a Relic Knights model this month, and seeing as that’s what I’m attempting to do here each month any way I thought I’d try to do both.  This photo was taken last week, and I’m not even fully constructed yet... watch this space to see if I can catch up...

Finally we have Stitched Together.  I am actually really happy with how they came out, although I would have probably spent a bit more time picking out the details on the insects. All in all though they do evoke the 'Oogie Boogie' image these models had inspired me to create in the first place.

The poltergeist and sorrows were some of the trickiest models, partly because I didn't really have a target image to aim for. I was partly going for the look of an inverted photo - but they turned out looking more like water spirits. Another one I'm tempted to return to when I eventually get my hands on the Dreamer boxset I originally wanted...

Now we have Pandora herself, the leader of the box.  I'm not particularly happy with this mini, I ran out of time to spend enough time on her face and skin. She's getting there, we're just not there yet.

Here we have Baby Kade.  I'm more or less happy with this one, considering I didn't really have any original ideas on how to paint him. I was contemplating either painting scratch marks on his back or perhaps a 'tattoo' to add to the jarring horror-baby image (as if the knife wasn't quite enough...).  Another one to return to next time I get my hands on some Malifaux.

Next we have the Doppelganger - I didn't quite get this one where I wanted to, especially as I only actually glued her together fully at the end. If I get a chance I'll definitely return to this one to polish her off.

So I did make a post on the Wargaming Bumblebee Facebook yesterday, with my months models, but due to a wetware failure (translation: I forgot) I did not do a Tumblr post.  And now it seems like getting the whole album up will be a problem... so individually it is til I can work it out!  First up: Candy - This is the only model I'm pretty much happy with - there's a couple of mould lines that were revealed with painting and I tried to fix with liquid greenstuff, but apart from that I'm really happy with how she turned out.
