Procrastinating on writing metas but here's a thought Rolin wanted a specific demographic to feel at ease this season hence why he went out of his way to assure that people who didn't like the first two seasons would definitely enjoy this one and that people can just start the series from TVL itself with no prior knowledge of IWTV since its only "Louis navel gazing" but then went and included the nastiest micro aggressions and racially charged language and brutalization onscreen. Like anything short of calling slurs was allowed and sometimes even that if there were the thinnest veneer of a plausible deniability. Rolin didn't just make sure that there won't be any criticism of race in the show anymore, oh no. Race is definitely a part of the show only now it had the flavor of Family Guy humor and deliberately so. I know this has been said before but you really do get punched in the face thinking about TVL's audacity. They know what they were doing with the constant humiliation of Armand, they knew what they were doing making Claudia call Louis slurs, they knew what they were doing when they put Louis's head on a spike. Ryan Kattner posting the "haha they are trying to get me canceled" with that HipHop sucks shirt was aware about why that shirt would get a backlash...like considerations of race of earlier seasons was not so much erased as it was perverted. Like it's not "I don't see color" racism- it's I am not touching you, you can't prove I am touching you and I am going to lynch you and enjoy it racism this season.

As Claudia gets older than Louis was when he got pregnant and married, when he sees the experiences she gets to have that he missed out on… he will think back on the intervention many times.
Lestat does not view the age gap as problematic or weird, because its ~Louis~ and he’s different and mature for his age so they’re on the same level 🥰 and Lestat’s true love 🥰 but will his age and wisdom as an argument against Louis every time to win.
People think Louis is Lestat’s trophy wife. Lestat thinks it’s a compliment.
Florence du lac doesn’t mind the age gap at all. Lestat having a lot of money helps. Paul however… has a lot to say.

Since Lestat physically hasn’t aged Louis sometimes forget their age gap, and forgets how old Lestat is, and just assumed Lestat gets pop culture references of his time. Lestat doesn’t.

WHO PISSED HER OFF?
White queers are very interesting to me, they cant engage with media made by people of color a lot of the time without some kind of tomfoolery. With Sinners there is 0 attachment to any of the other characters and the white villain is so hot and cool and must be queer, so they ship him with a young black man he's directly manipulating but solely because its him, not because they really truly like the ship they just want the white man. They look at characters and ship them because they're two white guys but you know for a fact they wouldn't be shipped if they were two men of color (especially Black) (oh oh unless their Asian because to white queers love to treat Asian people in a fetishizing way or the token poc or "your close enough to white imo so your fine")
White queer fandom will go out of their way to ship white and\or light skin characters with anyone else but their partner of color, they ignore and avoid ships of color or ships that include characters of color of all sexualities but claim they don't like "x ship" because its het when they treat queer characters of color in relationship just as bad and in my opinion, worse than het ships of color which are already hated and ignored by fandom. Men of color, women of color, queer people of color in ships?? Not on their watch! These can't be cute, they've got too much melanin!
They claim they cant relate to characters of color and ignore feminist and queer stories and experiences of people of color. They say black women in ships are "too good" for the men their with so they take the man and ship him with everyone else because shes "strong and independent on her own and he cant handle all that!" Black character has chemistry with white character? No they dont! Your just reading into it too much! They're boring together according to white fandom!
They must insert their view of white queerness into anything they don't feel they can connect with, thing is about culture? Being mixed? Generational trauma among families of color? Must be about white queerness in some way!
Its not even just white queers, straight white women in fandom do it just as much.

Honestly, I think Human Lestat x Vampire Louis would be Greg x Rose Quartz but that’s because I headcanon this Louis as being really old and disconnected with humanity but still interested by it, almost to the point of infantilizing them much to Lestat’s frustration.

It’s just funny how, not only does nobody in-universe ship/like loustat, everyone actively hates loustat. World’s worst couple that nobody’s rooting for and with each break up they cross their fingers that This Is The One 🤞 Paul never liked them together. Grace thought they were cute for a time before hating them. Claudia literally killed Lestat to separate them and wouldve exorcised his ghost if she could. Armand is in the middle and fluctuates between anti and throuple. Daniel might be the only one to somewhat like Loustat but only because he thinks they’re a soap opera that’ll never leave him without drama to dive into. Like, the only ones to enjoy Loustat as an actual romance are Loustat themselves, and even that varies depending on the century.
No one in-universe that knows both Louis & Lestat is neutral on Loustat. Oh no, if they know Loustat, they are forced (by Loustat) to be passionate about Loustat. Passionate about how much they think Loustat fucking sucks. Louis & Lestat are the only ones to perceive themselves as soulmates while everyone else views them as an inescapable plague.
