Regulus: “You’re bleeding.”

Regulus: “Sit down.”

Sirius blinks.

Regulus: “Don’t be ridiculous.”

Remus: “You’re glaring.”

Sirius (glaring) : “I’m observing.”

Remus (sighs) : “You’ve been ‘observing’ James and that Hufflepuff for twenty minutes.”

Sirius: “He’s laughing too much.”

Remus (rolling his eyes) : “James laughs at everything.”

Sirius: “…still suspicious.”

Across the room James waves at Sirius.

Sirius immediately looks away.

Remus: why

James: I just realized if we fail exams we’ll have to repeat the year

Sirius: we’ll repeat it together. like a band.

Peter: I don’t want to be in this band

Remus: go to sleep, James

James: but what if I forget everything

Sirius: you don’t know anything

James: THAT’S NOT HELPING

Remus: you’ll pass. you’re annoying, not stupid.

Harry: If dad was here, would he have let us join the order??

Sirius (his voice cracking)- If he would have been here, more than half of the situations would have been different, would have been better..

Harry could sense how much he was stopping himself from crying. Today's arguement, of what Mrs. Weasley said to him, weren't fair

So what if Sirius saw his dad in him. he would feel very happy that his godfather could smile and laugh because he sees his best friend in him.

Remus: “You’ll cry first.”

Peter: “You’ll definitely cry first.”

James: “I would not—”

Sirius: “He cried when I cut my hair too short.”

James: “IT WAS A SHOCK.”

Hermione picked it.

Ron complained but still brought snacks.

You’re in the Gryffindor common room, lights dimmed, blanket pulled over the three of you like you’re trying to pretend the world outside doesn’t exist.

The movie starts.

There’s soft music. Warm lighting. A happy family.

You already know how this goes.

You’ve lived this script.

Thirty minutes in, the tragedy happens.

The music swells.

The screen lingers on grief.

Ron mutters, “Oh no.” Hermione’s hand flies to her mouth.

You just… watch. You don’t brace yourself. You don’t feel that drop in your stomach.

It’s just a scene. Just actors. Just pretend.

Then Someone dies.

Hermione starts crying quietly beside you.

Ron sniffles and pretends he’s allergic to dust again.

You focus on the details instead.

The way the camera tilts. The way the music tells you when to feel something.

The way the character breaks down in perfect, cinematic grief.

It’s very neat. Very clean.

Loss doesn’t look like that.

The character gives a speech about how it never stops hurting.

About how you learn to live with it.

Hermione squeezes your hand without looking at you.

You squeeze back automatically.

You know she’s checking.

You’re fine. You’ve been fine for years.

Cedric didn’t have background music.

Sirius didn’t get a slow-motion goodbye.

Your parents didn’t get a final speech.

There wasn’t swelling violins or a gentle fade to black.

Just noise. Chaos. And then… absence.

Compared to that, this movie feels distant. Almost soft.

You don’t feel numb exactly. It’s more like… you ran out of space.

There’s only so much your chest can hold before it stops reacting.

The credits roll.

Hermione wipes her face.

Ron clears his throat loudly.

“You okay, mate?” Ron asks casually.

You nod.

“Yeah. It’s just a film.”

And it is.

That’s the truth.

You’re not upset.

You’re not shaken.

You’re not even pretending.
