"Heeeeey!"
If the boy hadn’t noticed the calling and waving to him, through the loud raving of the elementals, well, A-Rui would certainly not blame him. So perhaps, instead — he would have to appeal to another sense. Stepping directly in the way of the returning Padjal by a few fulms, cyan eyes stared through square glasses at the subject of the forest’s joy, and a smile formed.
However, he knew such a plan came with the drawback of a potential collision. As the other boy caught himself just a moment before running right into him, A-Rui smiled in the gentle, reassuring manner that those in Hyrstmill seemed to adore. Yet, such an expression did not have a similar effect on all. As the other stared at him, he spoke to the long-anticipated Padjal slowly, calmly, yet hopefully loud enough to perceive through the cacophony of the elementals.
"It is certainly a pleasure to meet you at last! The elementals, as you must know already, are beyond excited to see you return."
A wider, even happier smile graced A-Rui’s face for a moment, but he quickly realized something. “— Ah, you seem tired, though! Are you heading back to Gridania? I can hire us both chocobo porters; the other Padjal are likely hoping you will pay them a visit.”
Well, hells. The sudden appearance of someone right smack in the middle of his path was enough to make him stop short, just on the verge of walking right into them, and he had been about to unleash the full brunt of his irritation on them, when he actually looked--
And apparently, it was another Padjal. The first one he'd ever seen in person. He knew they were people like him, well enough; eternally young, horned children. But knowing that and seeing one face to face, seeing his young face -- at his level, not taller -- seeing the curling horns that sat atop his head...it was a little surreal. Like it was the proof that he was actually here, actually home after years and years away.
He caught himself staring in blank shock after a moment or two, registering the words the other Padjal had spoken, and shook himself off in an attempt to regain some sort of dignity. "Y-Yeah, I can tell they're excited," he said, his own mouth twitching in an amused smirk. "They kinda need to learn volume control, though, or are they always this loud?"
He shifted back on his heels, openly studying the other boy. "I was heading to the, uh...wherever it is in Gridania you guys are, yeah. Don't mind walking, but hey, if it gets us there faster I'm up for a chocobo." The faster they got there the faster the elementals might calm down. Right?

The blonde had been once again dealing with a less than agreeable merchant on how to decently price materials. Upon giving up on the useless Lalafell she had turned to go on her merry way when she had been knocked into by someone.
"It’s fine, I’m used to it… Always in Ul’Dah… You alright?" Ah, a face she’s never seen before. Interesting. Maybe this day can get better.
"Yeah, really," he commented dryly, snorting. "I'm fine, don't worry. Did he try to rip you off?" He asked, shooting a glance over her shoulder at the merchant in question, speaking just loud enough for him to hear. "My friend Jijiru says not to buy from that guy, anyway, he's unreliable."
Satisfied at the dig's success, he turned back to her. "I haven't seen you in the marketplace much before; do you not shop here often, or is it one of those weird 'never been here at the same time before' coincidences?" One of the bad things about his personality, as his friends told him -- always too easy to strike up conversations. Which, yeah, he probably should be more careful, but he liked talking to people. Even if people were occasionally annoying.

Everything is loud. Loud and annoying. He changed his mind, nope, he was going to turn right around and walk back out of the Twelveswood, kiss his eternally youthful ass. It was like walking into a room full of very loud relatives who hadn't seen you in years, and all of them exploded in very loud, excited noises with rampant disregard for anyone in earshot. IE, him.
He'd clap his hands over his ears but that would not work, and also the people at the camp he was walking through would probably think he was crazy. Not that he wasn't already getting odd looks for being so young, but he was used to those, and tended to give the people looking a disarmingly sweet smile and a raised middle finger. It tended to throw them off, and it was funny.
Such is life, though, that at this point he was too close to Gridania to throw a fit over the noise and storm off, so he was stuck unless he coughed up the gil to hitch a ride back to Limsa via airship. And airships made him queasy.
"Will you kindly shut up?" He hissed to the air under his breath, knowing they probably wouldn't listen. "Or at least be happy to see me more quietly?" Yeah, no, doubt it. This was turning out to be the longest walk on record, and he had probably walked across the entirety of Vylbrand at this point. Fun times. Welcome home, asshole, more like 'enjoy being deaf'. Perks of being Padjali indeed.

No matter how exhausting the party was, Rahela would never get tired of exploring Hullbreaker Isle. Everything about it never failed to fill her with a nostalgic sort of joy; the entire notion of an adventure-filled magical island fraught with peril and pirates reminded her of her childhood fantasies of Vylbrand.
But sometimes the other adventurers she explored it with would sometimes get… What was the word? Overzealous? Obnoxious? No, that wasn’t it. She did find that boy from earlier amusing; that Miqo’te lancer blissfully sprinting through every trap and obstacle, outrunning both his party and the wildlife, laughing all the way. He certainly annoyed the tank and the healer, but Rahela was more amazed at the fact that he didn’t die, especially when going toe-to-tentacle with the Kraken. That lancer didn’t hold still long enough for the black mage to ask for his name, so it was more than likely she’d never see him again.
Rahela shrugged and looked around the docks at Fisherman’s Bottom for a place to eat lunch, when she spotted… Perhaps she spoke too soon; who was that sitting on the edge of yonder dock? Speak of the devil, there was the lancer! Grinning and trotting over to the man, rather dirty and wet but none the worse for wear, she piped up, “Hello there! I thought I recognized you. What did you say your name was again?”
He started at the cheerful greeting, looking up and settling his lance on his lap with a grin -- now, who was she again? Tiny little Miqo'te girl, uh...uh...oh! His slightly blank face brightened, and he grinned, snapping a finger in recognition. "You're the mage from Hullbreaker earlier!" He said happily, ears flicking. "Y'know, most strangers I go adventuring with tend to try avoidin' me like the plague after," he joked. "Guess you're special?"
He glanced at his hand, deeming it clean, and offered it up to her with a laugh. "Name's A'khito," he said, gesturing for her to sit down. "Nice to meet ya! What's your name?" Making new friends was always good, and if she'd seen him in a dungeon first, that meant she knew how...enthusiastic he was, and if that didn't scare her off, all the better! The more friends, the more fun it was to go exploring, after all. Everything's better with company, and adventures taste the sweeter when you can share them.

You know what sucked? When your entire FC was busy, but you wanted to go do stuff. But everyone was busy. So you had to get up off your ass and go hunt down random strangers to wheedle into coming with you on Adventures. Well, adventure herein meaning 'running around on an island straight out of a high-seas adventure novel laughing your ass off as you get chased around by giant apes and giant worms and giant squids'.
So he was pretty sure that the other three people he'd gone with officially thought he was a lunatic for cheering and yelling 'banzai!!!' when he got tossed around by those tentacles, but he did not actually care. Why care about what people thought of you when you had so much fun?!
The (debatable) downside, though, was now he was wet and cold and sitting on the Limsa docks stripped to the waist, letting his chainmail dry off in the afternoon sun and cleaning ink off of his spear. Ahhh, the life of an adventurer. At least he could probably nudge some fish off of Sisipu for lunch later. Mmmm, lunch.

It was funny, simultaneously liking Ul'dah and hating it. Though he got the feeling it wasn't an uncommon sentiment. While it was a beautiful place, full of life and color and excitement -- and it was home to the Grand Company that had taken him in and saved his life -- it was also corrupt, apathetic, and greedy to say the least.
Seeing as their Company House was in the Goblet, however, he had to spend a great deal of time in the city anyway. At least after five years he knew his way around the Blades and the merchants better than most. Well, save for Jijiru, but she was...uh...a special case. That hit things.
Anyway, his current outing didn't have any particular reason; he just wanted some fresh air (and also possibly bail out of a brewing argument between a certain cat and a certain elezen that was about to go down), so he was just aimlessly wandering around the Sapphire Avenue Exchange, poking at this or that and debating stopping by Eshtaime's later for the hells of it.
He turned to leave the stall he was at, promptly bumping into someone "--Oh, wow, I'm sorry!" He said immediately, looking sheepish and backing up. "Didn't see you, my bad. You alright?"

It was nice when work took him back to the Twelveswood. He didn't like the other city-states much; Thanalan was too hot and dry, and La Noscea reeked of fish and saltwater. The Twelveswood was cool and shadowed and cozy, full of quiet green life that didn't talk too much or yell or basically do anything people did. The murmur of the elementals and the scent of earth and flowers basically sealed it as his favorite place.
He'd thrown his boots in his bag as soon as he could, enjoying the cool wet earth beneath his bare feet as he padded away from Little Solace -- he always visited Draxia first, before getting to business, but now that that was done with, on to other things. In this case, gathering materials for Emilie and Tsimh, who needed new ingredients for their respective crafts.
If you come across him, he's probably not going to notice you at first, given his intense concentration on his task. But the barefoot Keeper is an oddity indeed, and if your curiosity strikes, why not start a conversation?

It's already come true, to be honest. He can't think of anything that frightens him worse than what's been done already. His worst nightmare came to pass, and really he doesn't have another to top it.

Thinking about his wife and children; he feels like he's still dishonoring them by seeking death, even though he refuses to die on his own blade like a coward, but he can't really...he doesn't really want to go without them, and it hurts. He's very conflicted.

Cowardice. Shameful fighting and cowardice and dirty tricks. Fight like a man, blade to blade, or not at all.
Theovold:
☻: Person who could without a doubt make them happy.
Emilie! She's really sweet and nice, and she was one of the first people he met who kind of got him, and he always ends up smiling when around her.
Jijiru:

Bow to the queen, bitches. Your very tiny, very hot-tempered queen.
Cato:
☮: How they keep calm.
He's usually pretty chill, but when he really has to try to keep from getting angry, counting in his head. Slowly.

Lack of empathy. It really really pisses him off when people don't or refuse to see other people's suffering, or worse see it and don't care. Even if you can't do something about it, the least you can do is care. It really angers him when people just don't give a shit. Which, considering he lives in Ul'dah, can be a problem.

Losing his sister. As far as he knows his sister is safe and sound at home, and the thought of her getting hurt or dying with him being unable to stop it terrifies him. He prefers to think of her nice and safe and happy.

Glomps cuddles and rubbing his cheek on you and purring. He's very affectionate and enthusiastically huggy. Victory pose more like whooping in glee and literally throwing himself on the rest of the party in a hugpile. Super happy affectionate dweeb.
