Shaman, helpfully, provided a list of instructions for getting to Verdania.
"Perfect, yes, I know where to go. Follow me!"
With that, the Queen started walking to the Citadel's Bellway station.
Lyra walked a bit slower after Queen, careful not to hurt herself. Despite that she kept decent pace even though she needed to stop every ten or so minutes to catch her breath.
Soon enough ("soon" being relative, with all the stops. The Queen WOULD have carried Lyra, but she decided Lyra needed the exercise), the two arrived at the Bellway.
"Er... EIRA!" The Queen called out, only to step back in concern as the ground beneath their feet began to rumble.
However, it was just the Bell Beast.
The Queen cautiously approached. The Bell Beast sniffed her. Apparently, they decided, based on this sniffing, that she was safe.
The Queen climbed on.
"This is our ride," She said to Lyra.
Lyra let them sniff her hand before gently petting their snout. They climbed on behind Queen.
“How fast are they? Do I need to hold on to something?”
"That would be a good idea," The Queen stated, before saying, "Make way for Greymoor, Bell Beast."
The creature dove into the bells swiftly, and soon enough, the pair were tossed off at Greymoor.
Lyra sat dizzily on the floor for a few minutes before standing only somewhat unsteadily.
“You’re right that was fast. How far is it now?”
Lyra stretched her wings, ready to fly if she needed to.
"Uh... Not far. There's a lake to the East, and beyond that, we'll find the entrance..."
The Queen got up, and asked, "Before we continue: Are you alright? The Bell Beast was... more rough, than I thought it would be."
“Uh… probably? I may still fall over though we’ll have to see”
Lyra took a few shaky steps forward, one hand brushing the wall inside the bell station.
The Queen approached, wrapped an arm around Lyra's shoulder, and began to help her walk.
Lyra sighed in relief.
“Thank you”
She walked forward more steadily. Stepping out into the rain of silk.
“Oh…”
Lyra caught some in her hand before eating it.
The Queen nodded. "You're welcome," She stated, before staring at Lyra. "... You do know you just ate Silk, right?"
“Yes? I’m not that stupid. I usually eat silk and it’s more readily available in the Citadel than actual food”
"... Have you ever considered that consuming Silk may make you more vulnerable to the Haunting?" The Queen asked.
“…yes but… I have yet to be haunted yet and even if I do you’ll be there to help… or you could go threaten the wraiths into sucking most of the silk out of me again”
"... I would rather it not come to that. I will get you actual food."

“Aren’t we supposed to be going on a date?”
Lyra walks in the general direction Queen was going. She rubs her left side out of habit.
"Date's usually include dinner, do they not?" The Queen asked. "And—Ah."
The Queen stared at Craw Lake, flooded as it is.

The Queen scooped up Lyra, holding her, before she started to wade through the water, to the other side of the lake.
Eventually, she got there, and climbed both herself and Lyra up to the entrance to Verdania. Green clovers marked the way.
Lyra clung to Queen before getting down, she hadn’t seen this many plants since that one glimpse of Greenpath.
“Oh wow”
She turned back, kissing Queen.
“Thank you”
The Queen was a little surprised at the kiss. But she welcomed it. Returned it.
They should kiss more often.
"You're welcome," The Queen said. "Mm... You know, this is a nice view. You really complete the look."

Lyra was still a bit flustered. Her antennae waving in the air. She turned to look further into Verdania. It smelled so… green.
"I know you are, dear," The Queen replied with a soft smile, before looking further into Verdania as well.
"... Would you want to explore this place more?" She asked.
Lyra nodded, reaching for one of Queen’s hands. The grass and moss was soft beneath her feet.
“You said it was restored? What happened… or could I guess”
"... You could guess why it had to be restored. You probably couldn't guess how it was restored, or at least how the restoration started, since I expect it was more than just... what I know happened, for it to be restored this quickly."
She paused. She muttered, under her breath, at maximum quietness, "It... isn't my favorite thing I've ever done."
Agreed. It is not my favorite thing we've done, either. I... I still regret it, with his still-beating heart on the shelf of the Bellhome. I'd lie awake at night, endlessly considering whether I did the right thing. The Shaman confessed.
I just think it was a little needlessly cruel, but alright, feel free to keep up your overthinking and excessive, regretful rumination. The Queen was mentally silent for a moment, before saying. I'm sorry. Know that I do, truly, believe that perhaps the rumination is not entirely healthy. What is done, is done, and cannot be undone.

Lyra did not hear Queen although she noticed how she paused. She tried to lighten the mood.
“Then let’s enjoy it! Come on, I think I hear water”
"Yes, proper water, not Silk," The Queen joked, before looking around. She eventually spotted a body of water and walked towards it.
Lyra rolled her eyes, following Queen.
Lyra blinked slowly making out blurry details. Green tinted water- although not unnatural. Lily pads dotting the calm surface, often leaf gliders perched upon them. She blinked again, trying to clear the fuzz from her vision with no avail.
She sat down on a flat stretch of clovers, just... staring at the lake. She couldn't remember seeing a natural body of water this big before.
"Oh wow"
She wove her fingers through the clovers beneath her, absentmindedly plucking a few and starting the braid them into a sort of chain.
The Queen sat down beside Lyra.
This view reminded her, vaguely, of the Blue Lake, back in Hallownest, but... much more green. And with much more visible life surrounding it. It was truly fascinating. Beautiful.
She ran her hand through the water, before her six-eyed gaze turned towards the moth.
She watched as Lyra braided a chain of clovers, and smiled.
"Aw. Cute," She commented.
She hasn’t even noticed turning them into a crown. She places it gently over Queen’s horns, kissing her on the cheek.
The Queen's mouth fell open in surprise at the occurrence, a crown of clovers upon her head, a kiss upon her cheek.
She looked into the water, then. Maybe the crown didn't go with her aesthetics at all. Maybe the green clashed horribly with the white and the black.
But the Queen did not care in the slightest. She thought the crown to be beautiful.
"What a perfect crown," The Queen murmured, before turning back to Lyra. Eagerly, impulsively, she leaned in to place a kiss on Lyra's mouth.
Lyra laughed
“No it could be much better with a few flowers but I didn’t see any here”
The Queen laughed. "Well, then I suppose we'll just have to find flowers elsewhere, won't we? Not right now, though... Unless you wish to, I suppose. I thought we just may want to enjoy the scenery more, first."
Lyra shifts, taking off her prosthetic wing and setting it aside. She leaned over hugging Queen.
The Queen, eagerly, wraps her arms around Lyra, holding her close. After a while of pleasant silence, she asks, "The prosthetic wing... Is it serving you well?"
“Yeah I just take it off sometimes to air it out and make sure the wing is clean and not trapping too much moisture” Lyra nuzzles Queen’s shoulder before kissing her face again.
"Good. Perfect," The Queen says against Lyra's mouth, before returning the kiss.
Lyra closes her eyes, leaning into Queen.
The Queen held Lyra close, gently, carefully. Quietly.
Her hemolymph pulsed in her chitin. She loved Lyra so much.

The creature dove into the bells swiftly, and soon enough, the pair were tossed off at Greymoor.
Lyra sat dizzily on the floor for a few minutes before standing only somewhat unsteadily.
“You’re right that was fast. How far is it now?”
Lyra stretched her wings, ready to fly if she needed to.
"Uh... Not far. There's a lake to the East, and beyond that, we'll find the entrance..."
The Queen got up, and asked, "Before we continue: Are you alright? The Bell Beast was... more rough, than I thought it would be."
“Uh… probably? I may still fall over though we’ll have to see”
Lyra took a few shaky steps forward, one hand brushing the wall inside the bell station.

Lyra clung to Queen before getting down, she hadn’t seen this many plants since that one glimpse of Greenpath.

She paused. She muttered, under her breath, at maximum quietness, "It... isn't my favorite thing I've ever done."

She sat down on a flat stretch of clovers, just... staring at the lake. She couldn't remember seeing a natural body of water this big before.

She wove her fingers through the clovers beneath her, absentmindedly plucking a few and starting the braid them into a sort of chain.
The Queen sat down beside Lyra.
This view reminded her, vaguely, of the Blue Lake, back in Hallownest, but... much more green. And with much more visible life surrounding it. It was truly fascinating. Beautiful.

"Aw. Cute," She commented.

"What a perfect crown," The Queen murmured, before turning back to Lyra. Eagerly, impulsively, she leaned in to place a kiss on Lyra's mouth.

The Queen's mouth fell open in surprise at the occurrence, a crown of clovers upon her head, a kiss upon her cheek.
She looked into the water, then. Maybe the crown didn't go with her aesthetics at all. Maybe the green clashed horribly with the white and the black.
But the Queen did not care in the slightest. She thought the crown to be beautiful.
"What a perfect crown," The Queen murmured, before turning back to Lyra. Eagerly, impulsively, she leaned in to place a kiss on Lyra's mouth.

Lyra walked a bit slower after Queen, careful not to hurt herself. Despite that she kept decent pace even though she needed to stop every ten or so minutes to catch her breath.
Soon enough ("soon" being relative, with all the stops. The Queen WOULD have carried Lyra, but she decided Lyra needed the exercise), the two arrived at the Bellway.
"Er... EIRA!" The Queen called out, only to step back in concern as the ground beneath their feet began to rumble.
However, it was just the Bell Beast.
The Queen cautiously approached. The Bell Beast sniffed her. Apparently, they decided, based on this sniffing, that she was safe.
The Queen climbed on.
"This is our ride," She said to Lyra.
Lyra let them sniff her hand before gently petting their snout. They climbed on behind Queen.
“How fast are they? Do I need to hold on to something?”
"That would be a good idea," The Queen stated, before saying, "Make way for Greymoor, Bell Beast."
The creature dove into the bells swiftly, and soon enough, the pair were tossed off at Greymoor.
Lyra sat dizzily on the floor for a few minutes before standing only somewhat unsteadily.
“You’re right that was fast. How far is it now?”
Lyra stretched her wings, ready to fly if she needed to.
"Uh... Not far. There's a lake to the East, and beyond that, we'll find the entrance..."
The Queen got up, and asked, "Before we continue: Are you alright? The Bell Beast was... more rough, than I thought it would be."
“Uh… probably? I may still fall over though we’ll have to see”
Lyra took a few shaky steps forward, one hand brushing the wall inside the bell station.
The Queen approached, wrapped an arm around Lyra's shoulder, and began to help her walk.
Lyra sighed in relief.
“Thank you”
She walked forward more steadily. Stepping out into the rain of silk.
“Oh…”
Lyra caught some in her hand before eating it.
The Queen nodded. "You're welcome," She stated, before staring at Lyra. "... You do know you just ate Silk, right?"
“Yes? I’m not that stupid. I usually eat silk and it’s more readily available in the Citadel than actual food”
"... Have you ever considered that consuming Silk may make you more vulnerable to the Haunting?" The Queen asked.
“…yes but… I have yet to be haunted yet and even if I do you’ll be there to help… or you could go threaten the wraiths into sucking most of the silk out of me again”
"... I would rather it not come to that. I will get you actual food."

“Aren’t we supposed to be going on a date?”
Lyra walks in the general direction Queen was going. She rubs her left side out of habit.
"Date's usually include dinner, do they not?" The Queen asked. "And—Ah."
The Queen stared at Craw Lake, flooded as it is.

The Queen scooped up Lyra, holding her, before she started to wade through the water, to the other side of the lake.
Eventually, she got there, and climbed both herself and Lyra up to the entrance to Verdania. Green clovers marked the way.
Lyra clung to Queen before getting down, she hadn’t seen this many plants since that one glimpse of Greenpath.
“Oh wow”
She turned back, kissing Queen.

The Queen was a little surprised at the kiss. But she welcomed it. Returned it.

"... Would you want to explore this place more?" She asked.
Lyra nodded, reaching for one of Queen’s hands. The grass and moss was soft beneath her feet.
“You said it was restored? What happened… or could I guess”
"... You could guess why it had to be restored. You probably couldn't guess how it was restored, or at least how the restoration started, since I expect it was more than just... what I know happened, for it to be restored this quickly."
She paused. She muttered, under her breath, at maximum quietness, "It... isn't my favorite thing I've ever done."
Agreed. It is not my favorite thing we've done, either. I... I still regret it, with his still-beating heart on the shelf of the Bellhome. I'd lie awake at night, endlessly considering whether I did the right thing. The Shaman confessed.
I just think it was a little needlessly cruel, but alright, feel free to keep up your overthinking and excessive, regretful rumination. The Queen was mentally silent for a moment, before saying. I'm sorry. Know that I do, truly, believe that perhaps the rumination is not entirely healthy. What is done, is done, and cannot be undone.

“Then let’s enjoy it! Come on, I think I hear water”
"Yes, proper water, not Silk," The Queen joked, before looking around. She eventually spotted a body of water and walked towards it.
Lyra rolled her eyes, following Queen.
Lyra blinked slowly making out blurry details. Green tinted water- although not unnatural. Lily pads dotting the calm surface, often leaf gliders perched upon them. She blinked again, trying to clear the fuzz from her vision with no avail.
She sat down on a flat stretch of clovers, just... staring at the lake. She couldn't remember seeing a natural body of water this big before.
"Oh wow"
She wove her fingers through the clovers beneath her, absentmindedly plucking a few and starting the braid them into a sort of chain.
The Queen sat down beside Lyra.
This view reminded her, vaguely, of the Blue Lake, back in Hallownest, but... much more green. And with much more visible life surrounding it. It was truly fascinating. Beautiful.
She ran her hand through the water, before her six-eyed gaze turned towards the moth.
She watched as Lyra braided a chain of clovers, and smiled.
"Aw. Cute," She commented.
She hasn’t even noticed turning them into a crown. She places it gently over Queen’s horns, kissing her on the cheek.

“…yes but… I have yet to be haunted yet and even if I do you’ll be there to help… or you could go threaten the wraiths into sucking most of the silk out of me again”
"... I would rather it not come to that. I will get you actual food."

“Aren’t we supposed to be going on a date?”
Lyra walks in the general direction Queen was going. She rubs her left side out of habit.
"Date's usually include dinner, do they not?" The Queen asked. "And—Ah."
The Queen stared at Craw Lake, flooded as it is.

Lyra was about to object before blushing.
“Yes that’ll be fine…”

The Queen scooped up Lyra, holding her, before she started to wade through the water, to the other side of the lake.
Eventually, she got there, and climbed both herself and Lyra up to the entrance to Verdania. Green clovers marked the way.
Lyra clung to Queen before getting down, she hadn’t seen this many plants since that one glimpse of Greenpath.

Lyra walked a bit slower after Queen, careful not to hurt herself. Despite that she kept decent pace even though she needed to stop every ten or so minutes to catch her breath.
Soon enough ("soon" being relative, with all the stops. The Queen WOULD have carried Lyra, but she decided Lyra needed the exercise), the two arrived at the Bellway.
"Er... EIRA!" The Queen called out, only to step back in concern as the ground beneath their feet began to rumble.
However, it was just the Bell Beast.
The Queen cautiously approached. The Bell Beast sniffed her. Apparently, they decided, based on this sniffing, that she was safe.
The Queen climbed on.
"This is our ride," She said to Lyra.
Lyra let them sniff her hand before gently petting their snout. They climbed on behind Queen.
“How fast are they? Do I need to hold on to something?”
"That would be a good idea," The Queen stated, before saying, "Make way for Greymoor, Bell Beast."
The creature dove into the bells swiftly, and soon enough, the pair were tossed off at Greymoor.
Lyra sat dizzily on the floor for a few minutes before standing only somewhat unsteadily.
“You’re right that was fast. How far is it now?”
Lyra stretched her wings, ready to fly if she needed to.
"Uh... Not far. There's a lake to the East, and beyond that, we'll find the entrance..."
The Queen got up, and asked, "Before we continue: Are you alright? The Bell Beast was... more rough, than I thought it would be."
“Uh… probably? I may still fall over though we’ll have to see”
Lyra took a few shaky steps forward, one hand brushing the wall inside the bell station.
The Queen approached, wrapped an arm around Lyra's shoulder, and began to help her walk.
