Energy of Now: New Year/Full Moon 🌕🎆 First, an acknowledgement to the Goddess pictured above, Kali: In the goddess pantheon, Kali’s might may strike fear into the hearts of some— she is the Hindu goddess of death/destruction. Often times she is pictured with a necklace made of heads, holding a sword drenched in blood.. but that’s just one side of her. She is also a mother goddess. She brings death (ending) swiftly and with compassion so that there may be new beginning, new life. She represents the shakti, the divine feminine energy of creativity & fertility. Even the blood that surrounds her in Hindu artwork has a double meaning, both of death and new life (think, life blood). I keep this picture of Kali with me every day as a reminder that for new beginnings, the old must die. If you’ve made an intention to release your old ways, that’s Kali energy helping you. And if you’ve ever been knocked down by life, it’s Kali who will put her foot on your chest—over your heart— and DARE you to get up. To have the strength, the desire, the faith in yourself. When you raise yourself off the ground, it’s Kali energy that smiles and gives you a hand up. It’s transformation energy & it comes at a price: the willingness for change. If you’re still having trouble releasing the old, maybe meditate on Kali’s message and her energy, if you feel drawn to her. Kali energy lingers between the old and the New Year, inciting change. Although the Full Moon is acknowledged as being yesterday due to its exactness in the sign of Gemini, the moon is actually more full (99%) tonight than it was last night (97%) and it’s still transiting through Gemini. With that being said, here is the Energy of Now: Full Moon in Gemini/Mercury Retrograde 🌕🌎⭐️ Due to the planets influencing the Moon and Mercury being the ruling planet of Gemini, this could be a time of introspection and further life assessment. It seems the universe is really driving a message home as the year comes to a close. 2018 will be a year of actualization. In order to actualize we need to contemplate our needs and desires, we need to look at our lives and think about what is aligned with our greater good and what’s not. In some cases, the universe might be placing unexpected lifestyle changes directly in your path. Instead of railing against them, flow WITH them. Explore how this just might be for your betterment and advancement as a person. With that being said this is not the time to act. Some of you might be thinking— I’ve been doing this life assessment for a couple Moons now I WANT to actualize. With Mercury in retrograde, the Universe’s intention is clear. Now is not the time. The Energy of Now: New Moon Tonight & Fall Equinox 22nd 🌑🍁 • The near synchronicity of these two events key us in to what our energy is geared toward in the next few days and sets a tone for the rest of the year! Let's first start with the New Moon, whose energy sings us inward. Without the light of the moon to guide us we might stay indoors and ponder different aspects of our lives at a length. Certain things might be taking up a lot of space in our minds and hearts and without the light of the moon to call us outward and heal through yoga or other activities, we might stay inside and the ability to stagnate is present. However, if we fully utilize the New Moon's quiet energy we will be able to sort through the situations and people in our lives that only serve to hurt and frustrate us. Ask: "What beliefs (about myself and others) no longer fit who I'm becoming? What activities/people in my life no longer serve my greater good? How does my career help/hurt me? Etc" The New Moon is a perfect time for us to make a list of things that we can carry no further because they are too heavy and do not serve our greater good. The Fall Equinox mirrors that message because like our bodies and our energy, the Earth also goes through cycles-- most apparent in the seasons. Autumn is the time when the Earth surrenders to the inevitable winter and drops its leaves, letting go of that which it will no longer need to survive. Letting go of that which brought so much life in order to be able to grow anew come spring. So we, too, must let those things which no longer bring us the joy of life go, learning the lessons that came with them and appreciating them for what they were. Moving forward with wisdom.

A gift, the #vibration of #love 🙏🏽 Believe it or not, everything that exists has a vibration. We learned in grade school of solids, liquids and gases-- molecules vibrating off one another to create matter. These vibrations (some lower and higher, some subtle and more obvious) create #energy. These vibrations are constantly interacting with one another. Have you ever listened to a piece of music that completely transforms you (sound is vibration)? Or gone for a walk to cool your heels in a serene space and come out completely calmed? Even more so, do you find that certain people in your life leave you feeling #light and #happy or quite the opposite, drained and uncomfortable? As #humans, we have the intrinsic ability to not only pick up on other vibrations, but due to our sentient #nature we can interpret them as well. This is our gift and our birthright. I find that when I'm holding #crystals I'm overwhelmed by a light insistent vibration that urges me to align with my greater #good. Others might be more drawn to plants or nature or animals-- the list goes on. There's no right way to be #spiritual as long as what you're doing brings you #positivity, #creativity and alignment with Love (the ultimate vibration) 🙇🏻‍♀️

It's all about balance, baby. Like the teeter and the wobble and the one legged "how am I even doing this right now" on the balance board. It's the fierce forage ahead and stopping to look around at the scenery. Deep breath in, slow breath out. Smile. The lungs do not struggle and oh, but they do. I am a mess. I have it all together. "[S]he speaks the language of supernovas Stardust fleeting on [her] lips and making each word shine... (poem continued in picture 2) This poem was originally a romantic ode to a male, the adoration directed outward. Which is wonderful. Romantic love is powerful and can motivate us and take us further than we think we could go alone. However, I wanted females especially to read this and think about that Divine Earth Mother part of themselves that is sometimes largely present and other times a whisper in their heart. We have so many ideas of how we should look, act and think bombarding us on a daily basis that it's sometimes hard to remember how beautiful, strong and powerful we are. Outward love energy is even stronger and more palpable when you have a wealth of love for yourself. Never forget the divine nature of your existence, you wonderful creatures called "Woman"!! This is a photo of me without make up, without the "Beauty Filter", without all of the bells and whistles. Over the past decade I've suffered from really deep rooted insecurities. They had affected my mental, physical and emotional health and it's not easy but I'm coming out of it all and my love for who I truly am, skin, body and all is rooting deeper and getting stronger every day. I want people to see and know the real me, not the person hiding behind layers of makeup preoccupied with how I would look with a smaller nose, thinner face, bigger eyes. Not that makeup is bad! Just the desire to cover up your own unique and wonderful face and turn it into something else makes it harder to genuinely love yourself. Don't ever let who you are and how you look make you think your any less than another. Love & Light 💜

Like the motion of the tide and the breathing of trees growing, like the sigh of the winds and the heartbeat of the Earth, be sure of your nature. Return always to what you know, the deep truths of our being. The mind strays, the ego rages but the heart and the soul remain vigilant and steady and pure. Always.
