i like flash comics a lot

Always thinking about Flash War and how despite the name it's really just Barry and Wally having an argument that by comparison to the blowouts in say the Batfam seems pretty mild. If not for the fact that they're destroying the universe around them. By accident. Without noticing.

Like the thing about this comic is that it's VERY much an answer to all the comic dudebros who have been arguing about which of the two is better and baying to have them seriously fight and that answer is unequivocally "they wouldn't do that, and you don't really want that to happen because there wouldn't be a DC universe left afterward, you idiot".

hey guysss so unfortunately the rumors are true and im leaving the narrative. Buttt the good news is my absence will create such a gaping hole in your lives that it will become a sort of presence itself, and so in a way it will kind of be like i never left! But i am. Leaving just to be clear.

Something I really love about Barry especially in the Silver Age is that while he's the most openly affectionate, reassuring and encouraging mentor he's also the most hands-off. The other Titans complain about their mentors "breathing down their necks" and Wally can't empathize even a little bit. Barry left him alone for several hours the same day that he got his powers and costume and he took it upon himself to round up some escaped zoo animals and all Barry had to say about that was praise. Most of Wally's adventures early on were alone, fighting actual gangs and human trafficking and such, and he'd just write to Barry about it afterwards. The first adventure they had together after Wally finally learned that Barry is the Flash involved them traveling to two completely separate times and Wally almost died alone in the past. They would separate to handle things like that pretty often, actually. Barry had complete and utter (and very worrying) faith in him and it's frankly amazing that it didn't get him killed.
