“да уж. Я тоже тебя люблю папа,” Nikki said. Her dad replied in kind, the call ended, and she buried her. After the madness of the party, all she’d wanted to do was call her dad. She’d done it under the pretext of just checking in, but really she just missed him. She’d never been a hero, and her inability to do anything during the fog attack had only confirmed that. It wasn’t a great feeling. Someone spoke to her and she raised her head. “Don’t worry, I’m fine,” she told them. “Just tired.”

“Are you sure? You don’t look fine to me.” Wally answers as he leans down best he could to sit next to the girl. “I know that look — sure you’re tired, but it seems to be more than that. You don’t have to open up, but I hope that things get better. Cookie?” He offers up the box to her.

Being a guidance counselor is one thing, all this paperwork is another. Ugh why is this even a thing? He sighs and looks at the clock, and looks at the door before taking out a brown paper bag. The hero reaches in and pulls out a tupper with apple pie, that his wife oh so amazingly made him. He’s about to dig in when he hears a noise outside. 

“Uh hello?” He calls out. 

Wally stops in the doorway, looking over at Billy as he had a sandwich in his hand. “I didn’t mean to bother you. I was just seeing if you wanted to go get a drink — or hang out. I can see that you’re busy though.”

“fall through the–” lysander wondered if it was even worth asking. though he was usually particularly anxious, the redhead’s energy seemed to be focused on moving, moving, moving – “alright. alright. i t-trust you. what’s h-happened, do you think? something bad?”

lysander really couldn’t make heads or tails of this whole thing. despite the fact that they did not trust that fog in the slightest, there wasn’t much they – nor anyone – could do about the whole thing. he might be more panicked about the idea of waiting things out if he wasn’t… practically vibrating in his seat. “d-don’t trust it.” they struggled out, managing to speak a little. “bad fog, definitely.”

“the perfect plan,” running with wally is like old habit by now. artemis wraps her arms around his neck and goes with it, sure enough over in just a moment and she was back on her feet. she blinks with a grin, already moving them towards it, “now’s when i saw we should tell fletch,” a little nervous laugh, though nothing she can’t shake off, “but that would take time, and really, I’m just… I’m ready.”

“… what?”

lysander was so jittery. he wasn’t sure there’d ever been this much energy in his body in his whole life. his legs wouldn’t stop bouncing, his fingers were tapping every surface they could find, and his body seemed to tremble with built-up nervous energy – he didn’t know what to do, he really didn’t, although the redhead was aware enough to assume it had something to do with that weird fog that came over the campus just recently. teeth chattering as he tried his best to stay still in his seat, lysander looked up.

“did you say something?”

“I was just saying that I wonder how long this will last. I wonder where that fog came from. What are your thoughts on it?” 

she’s grinning so hard there’s no chance of hiding it, “we could just go to the chapel, be back before anyone notices we’re gone,” she takes his hand, quirking a mischievous eyebrow at him, “i wouldn’t complain if you ran us there,” she nudged him, “suddenly, i’m that impatient.”

the statement doesn’t register at first as she looks up at him with a smile, but after a moment, she blinks, raising her head from his shoulder, though still keeping her eyes fixed on him, excitement quickly building, “are you…. serious?” though it’s a little rhetorical, because they’ve been able to read each other easily for years now, “yes!” she bounces a little, a bit unusual for the archer but she continue a few more times, “yes, let’s go, yes!” 

“it’s a good night, isn’t it?” artemis wraps her arm around wally’s and leans her head on his shoulder without a worry on her mind ( truly – a feat. ) “it’s starting to get warmer, and thea is spending the night away from us,” new, but very normal for her age. she squeezes wally’s arm with a little sigh before looking up at him, “you make it better, you know. you have this uncanny ability to make things amazing, no matter what.” @wallacwest

“Can you seriously believe this is my only clean shirt? I look like an old lady, don’t I? God, why do I even own this thing?”

“An old lady? I thought that sort of thing was hip? I was never good with fashion.”

“hey hey now– you’re old… okay I’m like kinda old. shut up. stop it,” he laughs by the end of his statement, “we’re still young wally. we can prove it–” he pauses, eyes wide, expectant, “….how do we prove it?”

“ i’m sorry sugah - if you’re here for office hours they’re done for today. “ anna-marie mused to the person who had entered her classroom, she was shuffling around papers for her next class, trying to get things semi-neat before she left for the day. she wasn’t the neatest person but when it came to her class room, she’d rather have things put in their place unlike her own home. 

“I don’t need anything. I was heading out soon so I was making sure you didn’t need anything before I go.” Wally says with a smile -- being a teacher himself just across the hall. He has a stack of papers to read under his arm, but he does like to be friendly with other teachers he’s working with.

“If you want free cookies, stop by either the dorm lobby or the front of the library. They’re chocolate chip. Unless you want like half a dozen now. I made way too many.” 

“You had me at free cookies! Yes please!”

Since she was younger, Rosario had had a competitive streak, as evidenced by her years long rivalry with Ava about who was the better agent in training. “Sure.” She nodded and kept her tone clear as she spoke, even if the thought of a race left her buzzing with energy. “Where to?”

“That’s one way to put it.” Thalia chose not to argue the other fact, that school was important. Every time she’d tried to bring it up with someone else, she usually ended up getting shouted down or sent to the office to be shouted down. It wasn’t worth it. “So let me guess, you’re one of the cool teachers?”

“I’m definitely a cool teacher. I pride myself on that. It’s because I remember how much I didn’t like school so I try to make it fun. I teach criminal investigation.” Which was one of the better classes anyway, but HEY -- the man was biased.

Running helped Rosario focus more than most things. It was easy enough to ignore the world and focus on what she needed to while she ran, finding a rhythm in her own footsteps, and listened to music. Noting another person, she slowed her pace, eventually slowing to a stop and took out her air pods. “Were you saying something?”
