Kimi stands there, jaw dropped. Hed been rather busy recemtly with prosecutor smiths to actually know so. Good great god.
The door of the house unlocked, rotating a bit alongside some jiggle of keys. As it slid open, from the outside Kimi stood on the door, one hand on his head and the other holding onto those hospital canes. He slowy walked inside, using the cane for his help, having been poisoned for a prolonged time didnt help much with his instability in walking thanks to his knee, now he needed support to even walk, that wasnt too good.. as he stood inside the house, kimi took a look around, taking notice of how.. empty. The house seemed.
“ .... Where did everyone go..? ”
His voice was still weak, and even rough from not being used for so long at all. He couldnt process why no one was home at all, it felt.. weird. Where were the kids? Or kris? Or Kimis ferret, even?? He just stood there for a moment, before slowy making his way into the couch, taking a seat on the couch and placing the crane beside him while he tried to process what he had learnt on the hospital, his headache becoming a bit more powerfull and hurting, even.
At first it seemed like any other morning in the hospital. Kimi got his food, was given his medication and overall spend time feeling awful. But this time, he had a visitor! A familiar face that had been rather missing until now...
Phoenix walked into the hospital room while Kimi was doing nothing and just laying there. Overall his old friend looked awful, like he had been crying for a while. He quietly came in and sat down beside Kimi's bed. At first he didn't even look at Kimi, only looking down at his hands and the two weird but familiar stones he was holding in them...

Kimi was silent. He heard the steps and then everything going quiet. It took him a while, but slowy and surely he finally sat up, his dishelved hair hidding his face before he turned to look at who was in the room- to his suprise, phoenix was there. The silence of the room felt heavy as they sat in the silence of it, kimi wasnt sure of what to say or do, untill his hand weakly reached out for phoenix, to take his hand in his own.
“... Hi Nick”
Kimis voice was low- raspy. Like he hasnt said a thing at all for so long- which he hasnt, he stays silent most time because talking takes alot of effort and energy from him and he really has not much of it.
Phoenix looked up at Kimi in surprise. Tears quickly startet forming in his eyes again as he moved one hand on top of Kimi's while the other continued to hold the stones.
"Kimi? I thought you were dead... Oh God, I'm so sorry that i wasnt here earlier.. theres been so much going on"
A few tears do end up rolling down his face but he doesnt loudly sob at least. Ford a Bit he Just sits there, thinking of what to say and holding onto Kimi's hand as if he could slip away at any moment
Kimi fell silence for a quick moment, before moving his hands carefully to nicks cheeks, cleaning his tears in a weak and gentle matter- not like he could do else mucb anyway. He felt too weak to do so, afterall. Even despite the pain, kimi kept a gentle smile on his lips as he observed phoenix- as if trying to assure them both it was gonna be all fine for now- even if he knew damn well it likely wasnt gonna be all fine.
“ hey, its okay.. i’m glad you’re here now. ”
He said with a gentle smile while cleaning phoenixs tears- he didnt wanna see his friend cry- it broke something in kimi he couldnt even tell what it was.
A few more tears show up in his eyes but he quickly blinks them away. Seeing Kimi so hurt chrushed his heart into pieces. He could only imagine how much pain Kimi must be in and he still somehow managed to smile. Phoenix moves a bit closer over to Kimi's bed and leans down to give his friend a hug
"I missed you.. so much"
Phoenix just stayed like that for a while, not only trying to bring comfort to himself but to Kimi as well. He wanted to say that everything was going to be okay, but if he was honest he wasn't even sure of that himself right now.
Kimi smiled gently, his hand moving carefully and weakly to phoenix's hair and caressing it softly, trying to calm him down a bit for the current moment. It warmed his heart to know phoenix cared atleast and made some time to come visit him there.
“ Hey its okay, its not like im gonna die or anything. ”
He chuckled in a gentle way, trying to lighten the situation- but honestly not even he could tell if he qas gonna live to see another day at all.
"So you're Basil's and Bertie's biological parent? Interesting, i never knew they we're both adopted."
"...Ah, excuse my manners. I shoud introduce myself properly."
"You may call me ms. Smith. Im 30 and im a prosecutor."
"Im here mainly because i heard you're Basil's and Bertie's biological parent. "
