Eden takes pity on him as the triplets rip through the house by screaming “Nick said it’s time to bake brownies!” even though he’s said no such thing, but baking is his comfort zone, so he’s down with it.  He lets the kids mix the batter with their hands, and maybe sneak a taste of it a couple times when they think he isn’t looking--(”Look, D, it’s 2020, no one gets salmonella anymore--”)--but then they start flinging it at each other while making monkey noises so they lose the privilege of mixing.  While the brownies are baking, it’s time to play Cinderella, which involves cleaning while pretending mice are talking to you, so Nick sits in the corner and occasionally answers the kids in a little squeaky voice.

i wonder if damians being talking to val or if that was a really good guess.  either that or tarot is real. ha
