After reminiscing about our recent Flash Weekend I thought it might be time to do one of those lame introduction posts so strap yourselves in for an emotional rant. I’m Merrick Ames, better known as @choc666, and I’ve been the owner/operator of WA Ink for 9 years. As any small business owner can attest, running a business is a really hard slog but at the same time it’s impossible to put into words how grateful I am for it. WA Ink has become my entire life and identity and it’s an absolute privilege to be able to make a living in a creative field. This sort of post is not my usual jam as I’m a lot more comfortable staying behind the scenes but I really wanted to personally thank all of WA Ink’s past and present tattoo artists, our amazing clients, and the family and friends who have helped out along the way. The shop’s success is based entirely on all of you and I feel beyond lucky to have worked with some of the most talented artists and dedicated clients over the years.
