Fascinated by the posts about Rafe Cameron being a doll/automaton. Why do you think so?
so much of what makes rafe, rafe is performance. there is this carefully constructed Rafe Cameron that he clings to at all time. its half societal expectations for men/toxic masculinity and half specifically molding himself into what he believes will make his father proud. hes manufactured. hes a toy his father made from clay/cut from stone/whittled from oak. he gets taken off the shelf, does a dance, and gets put back up. image is everything for him. perfection is everything for him. hes wound up. its why his emotions explode from him, all that repression all that pretending. its why he has to be skinny. why he works out. why he has expensive cologne and citrus lotion in his room. he has no identity, just whatever you want/what he thinks you want. and please want him. please touch him. please tell him what to do so he can be good. please make him real. he needs to be a real, human boy and youre the only one that can breathe life into him.
