Koi 1/1

The fish is in a crescent pose with its fins splayed out, feather-like. The entire koi is black and blue and blue-black, save for a large round orange and red circle on the top of its head which bleeds into the black and blue ink of its body. Its whiskers are also splayed.

I went back to drypoint after I said I wouldnt, proving once and for all that even though I hate it it’s still something I’m good at!

I didn’t include it the first time, but this series was one I titled “Suneaters.”

Clean pull of the Erl King drypoint etching I carved earlier this week, no plate tone and better contrast.

It is black ink on white paper and shows an obscured face peering out from dense foliage occasionally studded with songbirds and flowers. They are etched with very fine lines and liberal cross hatching. Of the Erl King, his frog-eyes are present and visible, as are the beginnings of two horns, his nose, and part of his upper lip. All else is obscured.

The Crywolf crying again.

Johnny and Slow Dancer!

It was only a matter of time before I drew Gyro like this and then gilded his teeth with my brand new gilding marker.

An illustration I did of Gyro Zeppeli from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure. He is shown from the waist up, a hand on his hip while the other arm is obscured by his flapping cloak. His hair is wildly splayed around him, he smiles with golden teeth from under his ridiculous hat.

Another look at the turtle monster, El Carey.

I have depicted Carey as a sea turtle, large and captivating, with black inked scales on its extremities and tail. The shell carries on it the face of a dead man, staring at nothing. Behind the turtle, swirling around it in a vortex, are the words “Kill me and you become me” repeating until they disappear behind the turtle.

I recently got a new tablet (my old one gave up the ghost like a week ago or so) and I’ve been breaking in the new one with some monsters.

A digital illustration I made of a dragon’s head, using vibrant primary colours. It is red, with a wide staring yellow eye, white teeth, blue bums, and organic patterns all over its head. It is inspired by and looks like Venezuelan folk art.
