   The Cavanaugh crime family. Irish immigrants. Paddy bastards. Mick assholes. They’re not one of the oldest syndicates in New York City, but make no mistake: they are just as strong. What they lack in reputation, they make up for in strength and determination.

                             But a family is only as strong as its leader.

          God knows we like archaic kinds of fun.

   Since the beginning, it was always about power. Now that the power has shifted, things are changing. It is a battle of wit and personal mettle, and there are things being set in motion that, once started, will not stop. She tells her family it’s us versus them, and only one will come out on top. Weakness is not an option, not when the stakes are as high as they are now.

           Glory and gore go hand in hand.

   Now, there is a catch. When you are as high profile as Miss Esselyn Maddox, working in the underbelly of New York City has its inherent risks. When everyone knows your face, you cannot afford to be associated with the underground. Not like this. But what does she stand to lose?
