You roll your eyes at his pacing and turn an ear toward Mefiti instead. She makes a good couple of points, echoing one of your own worries - your lusus is smarter than most, but that doesn’t change the fact that in snow this thick, he’d have a hard time getting around with six healthy legs; his bad leg’ll make this weather nearly impossible to travel through on his own.* 

*Besides...you’re curious. It’s your nature.* 

“Do whatever you wan’, Conner, but I’m goin’. Somethin’s up, an’ I wanna know what it is.” 

*Conner ends up coming along, too, and manages to step on your toes at one point, triggering a not-so-hushed scuffle which miraculously passes without the lusii noticing. The stranger still shoots you all a dirty look, though. That’s ok, you’ll stick mud in Conner’s boots later or something.*
