RED RISING

I made a Red Rising junk art mosaic! 24x18inch in size. I took a 24x18in steel plate and first traced the image on. Then I took random metal items like nuts, bolts, glass cutter, wrench, gear, car parts, fingernail clippers, ect. I welded them onto the plate so they would form a junk art mosaic of sorts. Then I cut a backstand and welded it onto the back to the piece so it stands up and leans back slightly.

I like to imagine a Red or Orange of the making this as a way of showing their support for the Rising. I’m not sure what to do with the rust. Either leave it as it. Or clean the rust away and paint the Ares helmet and the “RISE” blood red.

Pierce Brown has mentioned a couple of times on his tour that he can see Eddie Redmayne playing The Jackal in the Red Rising films.  My imagination turned immediately to Eddie in Jupiter Ascending
