I got my Baby Yoda Tick before Christmas woohoo! Amy did a fantastic job on him and added some really special touches like the tattoo ears saying Spoon and The Tick Logo! Here's the Etsy Link where I got him from! tinyurl.com/y95oxz7p Description from Amy Vrooman: I decided to try out making my own custom hand painted “Child” and I’m in love. So since I love mine so much I decided to share with everyone! Every one is hand painted and you can choose your color and some other specifications! Do you want eyelashes? Freckles? A bow? Maybe a little crochet blanket for your baby? I have tried scratching the paint off with my own nails and it didn’t come off but to be on the safe side I would say probably don’t get her wet and rough play is probably out. Overall I’m very happy with the durability and have faith that she will be adorable forever! Questions? Comments? Let me know! If you select any add ons at the checkout message me to let me know color and other specifics. If you don’t do this it will be up to my discretion and what I think looks cute with the color of your baby!! Also please keep in mind this is a hand painted item and there will be tiny imperfections because I am human and not machine. So you may see brush strokes or tiny little bumps but I do aim for perfection! **I require a picture of the colors you want so that I can match them as close as possible. ** This Baby Yoda Tick, stands...er...sits at 15 inches Tall and about 12" wide. The Tick Blue color was purrrrrfect! And the Bouncy Flexible antennas absolutely makes Baby Yoda Tick a qualified member of this Tick Museum! At the time we didn't know that later in the show, he was named Grogu, but this little guy will always be Baby Yoda Tick! Written on the back is "As one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy, the Mandalorian never expected to be shielding this 50-year old child from his rivals and enemies. Now you can protect this lovable little creature just like the Mandalorian does! "

2018 Garbage Pail Kids The Tick Original Pencil Art by Layron DeJarnette by vsndesigns Via Flickr: 2019 Topps THE TICK GARBAGE PAIL KIDS "We Hate The '90's Cartoons and Comics Sticker A and B Names #4 of 10 Nick Tick and Ray Spray with and without Spit Card Backgrounds. I didn't realize there were so many variants of this card. I got to meet the fabulously gifted artist and creator of this card Layron Dejarnette who was gracious enough to provide me with the actual Original Art for these cards. While the artwork was signed 2018, the artwork was published for the 2019 Topps Garbage Pail Kids; "We Hate The 90's (Cartoon & Comics) #4 Pencil Art. Certified Authentic Topps Memorabilia and Hand-painted by Layron DeJarnette, an Official Garbage Pail Kids Artist Garbage Pail Kids is a series of sticker trading cards produced by the Topps Company, originally released in 1985 and designed to parody the Cabbage Patch Kids dolls, which were popular at the time. The series was the brainchild of Topps consultant and Pulitzer Prize-winning cartoonist Art Spiegelman, who came up with the product idea after the success of his earlier creations Garbage Can-dy and Wacky Packages. The concept originally began as an unreleased Wacky Packages sticker for a 1985 series, but the management at Topps thought it would be a good idea for a separate spin-off series. Spiegelman and fellow cartoonist Mark Newgarden worked together as the editors and art directors of the project, Len Brown was the manager and the first run of the cards was drawn exclusively by artist John Pound. They were first issued in 1985. Following the initial success of the cards, several additional artists and writers were brought in to contribute to the series, including Jay Lynch, Tom Bunk and James Warhola, and of course Layron who did this fabulous rendering. Layron DeJarnette is an American illustrator, director, art director, character designer, storyboard artist, animator and caricaturist. He is best known as a character designer and art director on the Monster High web series for Mattel and The Ricky Gervais Show (TV series) for HBO. He is a Garbage Pail Kids artist for Topps and trading card illustrator for the Upper Deck Company and Cryptozoic Entertainment.

THE TICK ORIGINAL PRODUCTION INK ART DUANE REDHEAD SDCC 2016 by vsndesigns Via Flickr: Concept: Ben Edlund, Publisher/Editor: George Suarez, Art Director: Bob Polio, Asst. Editor: Ralph Blaser. The San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive 2016 was First Published Printing August 2016 and was numbered from 1 through 260. Written by Jeff McClelland and Art by Duane Redhead. This is the Original Comic Art, typically Ink over pencil copies which is ultimately what is used in the production process and is the final published artwork. That's 100% collectible and desired, but in most cases, a lot of collectors prefer the "Pencils" over the "Incks over Blue Lines" even though in truth, the final production piece is the "Inks over Blue Lines" and the "Pencils" can even be seen as a preliminary layout by many eyes since it's not the final product. Some say they should always be maintained as a "set" and never separated, ideally...and to my friend Brian who owns the "Pencils" on the East Coast and I on the West Coast, and The Tick everywhere in between, I don't really see this set as being separated. Cheers Brian!
THE TICK COLOR COVER PROOF NUMBER 12 VARIANT DINNERTIME by vsndesigns Via Flickr: THE TICK #12 Gold Foil No Logo Unused Covers x4 Complete Set The aftermath of issue 11 has landed a windfall for The Tick! The Tick and Arthur are now in possesion of an entire arsenal of crime-fighting gizmos! What they do with it and who is THE TERROR AND THE EVILLEERS? Written and drawn by creator Ben Edlund. Unused covers for the #12 gold foil stamped comics. Includes all 4 variants. I asked Michael (aka Bespin15 on Ebay, a really cool dude btw) the story about these gems that I acquired from him and this is what he told me. "I got these from New England Comics in the early '90's. I was actually trading comics with them as they were selling back issues in their catalog and I would get various items in return. I don't recall the specifics around the availability, but I presume these were test runs since they have the color tags and don't have edition numbers printed on them. I haven't seen another set available since I got these. These are my favorite pieces of Tick memorabilia that I own." I also asked my friend Brian, who also is an avid Tick Collector, and he also told me the following. "Since I have a set also they are probably not "test" but rather "pull" from the production run to check for color accuracy. They have not yet had their serial numbers applied nor have they been trimmed to to comic book size. While it's not a one of a kind item, I would guess there are only a small handful in existence. I have a few for some of the games I made - they are the full deck of cards all on one sheet before they were cut up and boxed. I had to specifically ask for them." The proper name for them is a "press sheet". There may be other slang names for them. But that's what I've always called them. Also sometimes referred to as a Printed Comic Cover Color Guide, or Printer's Proof Sheet, or Untrimmed Full-Color Tear Sheet. THE ORIGINAL TICK NO. 12 (LAST OF THE SERIES) WITH VARIANT 1993 (BACK SIDE) Issue 12 "One Man's Treasure......is Also Another Man's Treasure" Released May 1993 Ben Edlund, Writer & Penciller; Jeff Whiting, Inker; Bob Polio, Letterer; Richard Edlund, Cover Colorist; George Suarez, Editor Barry returns to his castle, upset that the Tick has usurped his name. Meanwhile, the Tri-State Superhero Congress has decreed that since the Tick defeated Barry, he stands to inherit all of Barry's superhero paraphernalia. Barry accedes to the Congress's wishes, allowing the Tick and Arthur to move into his castle, but the loss drives him over the edge and he refuses to wear clothes. Barry devises a plan to get his stuff back by contacting his arch-enemies, the Evileers, led by the Terror and goads them to attack the Tick. This is the last issue that Ben Edlund was directly involved in. After this, he left to oversee the animated version of the Tick. Four different variant covers were released with this issue. Each came with a no-logo front cover with a gold foil Tick emblem. The back covers came with four limited variations: Rockets On (1000 copies), released at Capital City Sales Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Dinnertime (1000 copies), released at the Diamond Tenth Seminar in Atlanta, Georgia; Frrd! (1000 copies), released Summer, 1993; Tick Society Coat of Arms (2000 copies) which was one of four variant covers, each is numbered with a different art on the back. The "Tick Society Coat of Arms" cover was limited to 2,000 and available only to Tick Fan Club "Mystic Orders of Arachnid Vigilance" (MOAV) MEMBERS ONLY. Second edition released September 1995. Third, 10th anniversary edition released August 1996. Fourth edition released January 1998. That's it for now. I sent a message to Jeff W. to see if he knows a little more about these. I've got four more to post up, so stay tuned! Hey, and let's all celebrate a Very Happy Tick Day! #TheTickDay

THE TICK BENN ROBBINS by vsndesigns Via Flickr: 2018 Original Artwork by Benn Robbins. Benn and Liz Robbins is the dynamic dual behind The Mangalicious Tick Series of New England Comics circa 2011? Benn and Liz Robbins also known as the Robbins Studios (Quincy, Ma)quck story...It's kinda a love story. How it all began... People often ask: "How long have you been working together?" The answer: A long time. We met at the Massachusetts of College of Art and Design in 1992. We were a couple of artsy kids that loved film, photography, and comics. Often helping each other on our degree projects, we began a collaboration that has held to this day. We got married in 1998, but have been a team since we met. Robbins Studios is who we are, both as artists and people. We love each other and what we do. We are incredibly lucky and fortunate to have the opportunity to pursue so many creative outlets. Being able to work on a variety of projects keeps us striving and growing. We strive not only to provide a variety of services, but to bring art and happiness into people's lives. Life doesn't get much better than this. -Benn and Liz. This art piece measures approximately, 8" x 8" x 1" thick. Kudos goes out to my friend Bill [williagrego0 over on eBay] for this fabulous acquisition. This piece has rounds compliments The Mangalicious Tick Series quite nicely.
THE TICK AEGIS TY RATHBONE CUP IN SEASON 2 EPISODE 6 by vsndesigns Via Flickr: The Tick TV Show from Amazon Prime Television. Seen on Aegis Head Quarters Ty Rathbone's desk in Season 2 Episode 6 (bottom left hand side). Tick and Arthur fight a beaurocratic battle to save an innocent Lobstercules from AEGIS experimentation, Dot tours an AEGIS open house, as Overkill visits an old friend. Directed by Carol Banker, Created by Ben Edlund, Written by Adam Starks, Francesca Gailes, Johanna Stokes, and Jacqueline Gailes. Seen here with Peter Serafinowicz as The Tick, Griffin Newman as Arthur Everest, John Hodgman as Hobbes and of course Marc Kudisch as Ty Rathbone, who may or may not have drank from this cup? Many thanks to www.ebay.com/usr/m7nm3e for this fabulous acquisition! The cup measure at 6.5" Tall and comes with a sturdy plastic drinking lid. The cup itself is made from a robust ceramic material that has emblazoned on it the A.E.G.I.S logo and still has the Made in China sticker on the bottom. Wait...there's instructions on how to maintain and clean this cup on the inside...okay...Tyrannasaurus probably didn't drink out of this one! Still, it's nice to watch this episode and seeing this little gem in the only scene that I could find with it.
GHOST TYGER and Friends 2020 by vsndesigns Via Flickr: I got to spend a fantastic evening with my wife Rhonda watching a highly motivated and intellectual being known as Ghost Tyger at The El Cid Theatre in Los Angeles the other night. I was very lucky to get his autograph and sketch from this very Spiritual Entity! His music was moving and stimulating. It reminded me of Thomas Andrew Lehrer (Songwriter and Mathematician of the 1950s and 60s), only brought up to date with a rich melodious Rock and Rock jibe of more modern times. Rock on Ghost Tyger...You and your Friends Rock! Who is that man behind the mask...the world may never know...Go Ghost Tyger Go!
2020 THE TICK WITH PETER SERAFINOWICZ 12" Tall Action Figure by vsndesigns Via Flickr: This is a Tick Action Figure created for me by the very talented Kris Kunkel. A few years back ago I saw an image of this on DeviantArt and knew I just had to have him. I think Kris absolutely caught the aura of the character and digitally mastered him onto his 3D canvas. He's surprisingly relatively light, weighing in at approximately 12 oz. He stands atop of a large brick building standing on the corner in his classic Tick pose. He is dressed in the original costume as designed by Coleen Atwood (2016) and illustrated by Christian Cordella. I plan on having him painted as realistic as possible to the actual Peter Serafinowicz character and maybe we might be able to convince Mr. Kunkel to create the Griffin Newman Arthur in the near future!
I didn't even know they had a purple jelly series of The Tick Garbage Pail Kids Trading cards from 2019!

THE TICK NEC COMIC SHOPPING BAG FRONT AND BACK by vsndesigns Via Flickr: This is a plastic bag that I normally get from New England Comics that my comics come in when I go to their store. It has their seperate store names, addresses, and phone numbers where I can sometimes find my favorite comic book character, The Tick. The illustration on the bag is quite striking and I don't know who drew it but it appears to be signed by MAD TV T-DOG...let me know who that is and I can give him or her credit for a fantastic illustration job! Now here's a little info about ...hmmm...plastic bags. TECHNOLOGY How the Plastic Bag Became So Popular It took years of industry advocacy before the cellophane sack, invented in the 1960s, caught on. In the 1960s, plastics were just becoming popular. Polyethylene, which today is one of the world's most ubiquitous plastics, had been created in 1898, and then again in 1933. But it wasn't until 1953 that anyone figured out how to make high-density polyethylene—the plastic that's identified in the recycling system as No. 2 and that's generally used to make the type of grocery store plastic bags that California just banned. In Sweden, a company called Celloplast—that had sold cellulose film—was working out ways to use and sell the stuff. In 1960, the company filed for a U.S. patent for "tubing for packaging purposes," designed by a team of three Celloplast employees. Their idea was that the tube of plastic, laid flat, could be sealed at regular intervals to create the bottom of a bag and left open at the top to insert whatever it was that needed to be packaged. It was a good idea, but one of the team members, Gustaf Thulin Sten, apparently had a better one: Seal the bottom of the tube, but, on the other end, punch out part of plastic tube to create handles. In 1965 Celloplast obtained a U.S. patent for the idea that was later called "the T-shirt plastic bag," and it's the design, essentially, of every plastic bag you've ever been given in a grocery store check-out line. Mobil Chemical wanted in too. From the 1960s on, the company had pursued an aggressive policy on polyethylene packaging patents and by 1977 was producing its own bags. Plastic grocery bags were introduced in America in 1979; Kroger and Safeway had picked them up in 1982. But relatively few stores were using them. In 1985, the Society of Plastic Engineers's Newark Section held its regional conference at the Holiday Inn in Somerset, New Jersey. The topic was "New materials and profits in grocery sacks and coextrusions." There, the author Vince Staten later wrote, a speaker pointed out to the assembled that plastic bags cost less than paper—one thousand plastic bags cost $24, while the same number of paper bags could set retailers back $30. By the end of 1985, 75 percent of supermarkets were offering plastic bags to their customers. Customers still preferred paper bags—plastic held just 25 percent of the market—but Mobil was working to change that. "The last stronghold is the grocery sack bag," an executive told the Los Angeles Times, "and now we are going after that." Within the next decade, the plastic bag had captured 80 percent of the market.
THE TICK SWAG BACK PACK FROM SDCC 2017 by vsndesigns Via Flickr: The San Diego Comic Con 2017 had these to pass out for attendees of The Tick Takeover Experience which took place across the street from the Convention Center. You can operate a Ginormous Tick Scalp and move his antennaes or take a lounge break at well...The Tick Lounge where we scanned our wristbands to each of the four stations to ultimately collect this bad boy...which was filled with Tick Swag...and apparently, different bags had different items in them, depending on which day you went. I reached into my bag at the time and pulled out what was my Tick Antennae and waved it to the crowd that was still waiting, they cheered and oohed and ahhed...it was fantastic! My wife reached into her bag and pulled out a Tick Hat with Antenna and they Ooohed and Ahhed even louder! This Tick Backpack measures at 23-3/4" X 16" X 4" and is made of a canvassy type of material with the inscription of "Amazon Original The Tick Stream Aug 25 Prime on it." On the Opposite side it has "I've Got Your Back" and a picture of what appears to be the giant Tick Scalp that was there at The Tick Experience. The adjustable straps measure at 2" wide and it has three vinyl plastic snaps to close the top of the bag. It doesn't appear to show where it's made but I think it's pretty cool.
