Winter Solstice (Open Starter)
Timeline: After the events of the last Vampires SMP Ep.
Time... It's just a fickle thing. One moment you're hopeful for the future, and within a week, you're dreading what is to come.
But with everything said and done. It was surprising how little blood was actually shed in the end, but maybe it's better that it ended that way.
Fern still isn't entirely sure how they should feel. Given how much pain was inflicted on them by the hands of those humans, who are now either gone or have stayed to help their land heal.
Currently, however, it was the winter season. All their tree have been laid down to rest while this time of year passes, with Fern feeling quite tired themselves.
And at the moment, they are dozing on a high part of a bare tree, clothed in some winter clothes they managed to get their hands on.
Celine had been wandering the forest for a bit, hunting for food as she was quite hungry. Upon stumbling into this part of the woods they spot Fern, dozing off.
A small smile fills Cel's face, as she sees the other peaceful and at rest.
She'd come back in a bit, once he'd gotten some food.
Upon hunting some more, until they had their fill (without killing all the food in the area), he heads back and sits under the tree. Singing a lullaby for a bit.
Fern's ears perk at the sound of Cel singing under the branch they're lying on. Humming in curiosity, as they rub the crust out of their eyes and sniff the air, with a smile going across her face in realization of who was singing.
Using the wind to glide down from the tree branch, and sit by Cel's side, resting their head on the vampire's, with a content hum.
Cel grinned, continuing to hum, but burying themself into the fae. After a few minutes they opened their mouth to speak.
"How have you been doing?"
"Better," they breathe out in a contented sigh, nuzzling into the vampire's curls and wrapping their arms around him in a gentle embrace.
"Still have some mossy patches on myself, and I'm a little tired from the seasonal change, but I'm happy."
"That's good," he hums a bit before sighing again. Feeling significantly more at ease now that Fern isn't in danger, and is just relaxing against them.
"Do you hibernate like the trees when winter comes by?"
If they did, then Cel would be on guard. Make sure nothing, no one, comes to attack Fern. But she didn't want to needlessly worry the other with her own mind.

The Settling Ash (Closed RP)
This takes place after the events of Episode 7
In the wake of destruction, there is the thought of salvation for man. But there were no thoughts for the forest inhabitants, be it nature, creature, or monster.
As long as the humans stayed safe, who cares about all the other living creatures' needs for survival!
Living three of many to suffer the consequences: Two of whom, one vampire ( @vsmpceline ) whom cared for those they charished as friends, the other its own form of supernatural, taken on the body of an avian ( @pesky-bird-of-oakhurst ), had suffered the loss of a home burning from the fire, while the third was a part of the forest that suffered for the sake of another species' desperation.
They gather around the remains of what is left, clouded in ash, burnt leaves, and charred wood.
Fern, with the help of Celine and a Priest, was now clothed, bandaged, and given food for what she could heal on herself. But the damage still left its mark on her.
Patches of bark on her upper arms and face. Their hair had been fried in the back, making it shorter than it had been before the fire. Lastly, her legs had been burnt to the bone, leaving them to have a difficult time moving by human means.
With what they could do, they sat kneeling on the ground, and had their hand like vines plunged in the dirt, to try nurturing the ground to heal, and help speed up the growth of replanted trees and seeds, but this took full concentration, meaning they weren't able to focus on what the other two were doing while he worked.
(Ooc: Either of you two can start, and please tag who you wish to speak or interact with after.)
Celine hummed, going around looking for saplings to plant with Grian, and while they hadn't found many, it was enough to start planting.
After the other's long nap the other day, Cel was feeling the effects of not enough blood.
Yet she was still livid. In their recklessness, the humans and other vampires had hurt the two he cared about.
A watchful eye on the avian she hummed a bit before talking to him.
"Grian. We might want to find Fern. Try and plant these trees somewhere near where they are."
"Of course. The house isn't completely finished, but it's got a roof. Let's, uh. Let's find them." He stands, brushing the caking dirt and mud from their trousers.
Grabbing his own saplings, they wandered with Celine for hours, searching for the fae.
Eventually the two of them found Fern, who was healing the ground.
Quietly she nodded to Grian and got to work planting trees around the fae, in a circle of sorts.
It wasn't much but he hoped it helped.
When Cel was done they quietly walked over to a guarded position somewhere near the other two, being careful to look for any dangers that might come this way. Any fires.
Fern hums a pleasant melody that seems to trail on the wind that passes through. With their eyes half lidded and glowing a faint orange color.
And the trees that are planted around them look to flourish the moment their roots settle into the dirt.
"Fern… Fern, a-are— Are you doing okay? Do you need something..?" He crouches with them, careful not to break her concentration.
@fae-of-oakhurst
It takes a moment for Fern to register what she's been asked, blinking a moment, their eyes going back to their normal glossy blue color.
Turning their head in the direction of Grian's voice, it's clear they have a weight of tiredness on their shoulders, with bags under their eyes.
"Hmm... I'm just tired and a bit hungry... It's kinda hard to think." They say in a mumbled voice, thoughts feeling like they're moving through sludge.
"Yeah, that's understandable… What do you need? How can Celine or I help you..?" Their voice is heavy with worry, cracking and barely held together.
@vsmpceline @fae-of-oakhurst idk where you guys wanna take it, so either or can reply!
Fern takes in a breath, slowly unlodging her vines from the ground and reshaping them into their usual clawed hands.
Placing one hand on Grian's head as a show of comfort for the avian, even giving a small ssshh to try and soothe, before turning to Celine and saying, "Honey, water, and any form of animal can help in my recovery, but..."
They pause and shake their head to rid themselves of the drowsiness that passes over them.
"But, I need to rest... Properly rest, Cel. Meaning I need help to go back to my realm."
Celine nods, walking over to the fae and carefully picking him up ready to head to help them go to their realm. "Same faerie circle as when I last visited?"
That visit seeming so long ago now that the forest was burnt, mostly to a crisp.
"And is it alright if G joins us?"
"The very same, and yes, G can come along if he'd like," Fern replies back, laying their head on Cel's shoulder, and relaxing into his hold on them.
@pesky-bird-of-oakhurst
"I… I appreciate it. Thank you." He lags behind the couple, giving them their well-deserved privacy. The ache in his heart, though, nevet wavers. They reach into his satchel, hands falling to the enchanted sunflowers—the last remnant he has of their love. But he puts on a brave face and tags along.
@fae-of-oakhurst
As they walk to the circle, leaves start to trail behind the trio, as if following them to where they're going.
Eventually, they find the mushroom ring, though some parts of it look more charred than before, and when taking a step in, they find themselves in similar woods, but with much taller trees, and a much quieter forest.
You can notice how some of the trees are charred and blackened, with others looking to be felled, with moss spreading over the rotten wood's bark.
Celine frowns, worried about the damage done, and if it will be reparable. And more than that she's angry. Furious. The humans did this, the other vampires only made it worse. And they got to get away with it? Without another care in the world?
Her grip on Fern tightened, to protect. To keep the other safe. Yet he also kept Grian in eyesight. When they got revenge it would be after these two were safe.

OPEN STARTER: Episode 7 spoilers ahead!
Also be aware that Grian is Not Okay right now! This is an ANGST starter for a reason.
Celine rushes home, dousing out fires along the way. Worried about Grian only to find him panicking.
Seeing the wood on fire here, they throw water down on the floor and pick the avian up. Usually, if someone was panicking, they wouldn't touch them. But, right now Grian's life was on the line.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey. You'll be alright. We're going to be fine."
"Celine. Celine, I didn't… Couldn't control it." His wings are singed, holes forming in his feathers. Their gaze is far away, as if seeing someone long ago. "I-I don't want to die here, Celine… Please don't let me die here…"
"I won't." She states, looking over Grian for any fatal injuries.
"We'll be fine, we'll both be fine. Just breathe."
He attempts to do so, clinging to Celine. "You're alive. I'm happy… You don't deserve to die… I'm glad they couldn't get you…" They mumble.
"I've been alive for centuries," she hummed while holding the avian. "If I was going to die it would've been before I turned."
"Okay… Are you hungry..? Um… I want something normal, for now… Please… Any sort of distraction works…"
He sniffles, half-conscious, wanting nothing more than to have his friend with him. They know it's risky to call her such—with the vampirism and all—but it's the first word his smoke-addled brain comes up with.
"You're my friend… I'd do so much for you…"
Celine pauses to think for a second. Sure, she was a bit hungry, but they could go a few hours longer without food.
"I'll be fine." Humming a bit they look at Grian.
Friend. She knew that they told them that they could be friends. But honestly she didn't realize that the other had meant it.
"Let's sit for a minute, the fire's gone and we're not in immediate danger."
"Okay…" He nuzzles into them, finding comfort in her touch. Their wings circle Celine weakly, protecting the two from the outside world. "If you need to feed, just do it… Don't let me overthink it…" He whispers.
Despite his brave words, his heart is shattered. The home he spent so long building, burned to the ground. He sniffles and hides their face a second time.
Celine nods, sitting with Grian's wings around them.
"We'll be alright."
Raising a hand they start playing with his hair.
"I'm… I'm tired… Can I rest? Please? Can I finally rest..?" He whispers, chirping weakly but happily as Celine cards his fingers through their hair.
"Yes, you can rest." Celine murmurs, continuing to run their fingers through Grian's hair. "I'll keep watch."
And then he starts to hum, something akin to a lullaby.
It Burned, They Burned (Spoilers for Ep 7 & TW for Burns)
Fern had been neutral towards vampires and humans alike; they rarely got into conflicts, staying in their forest and making sure no one took too much or too little.
But then they decided to torch it, all those trees burnt to a crisp, with Fern feeling themselves be burnt along with them. Flames licked at their skin and ivory, sap seeping from their arms and legs, burning the leaves in their hair.
A place so innocent it had been, just nature itself growing and giving, and had been scorched again by the hands of selfish mortal beings that only knew how to destroy and kill.
They hid in a cave from it all, but it didn't stop the pain they felt in every muscle of their body with every lick of flame that burned at another tree.
For the first time in a long time, they felt this sense of fear and hatred they thought had been locked away for good, but now it was back, and Fern could do nothing but deal with it until it stopped.
(Open for RPs)
Celine had seen the fire, and started looking for Fern, worried about the other.
The humans will pay for this.
"Fern! Fern!" She calls out, looking for them, before stumbling into their cave.
"Fern!" He gasps out, running to the other. "What do you... How can I help?"
Sap- Their blood, seeps from the burn wounds on their back and thighs, pooling on the floor they lie on, and their legs were completely charred down to the bone with only some muscle keeping it together. Lastly, their hair had been singed in the back making it far shorter than before.
But the moment Fern heard the sound of someone coming into their cave did they tensed up and gave a stare that would make someone hesitate before approaching. Even letting out a guttural growl as they don’t recognize Cel at first.
Once they did though, Fern let out a shaky sigh of relief, relaxing, and moved to place their hand on Cel’s cheek.
Cel holds Fern's hand, before scanning them over. Seeing the state they're in she pauses. Trying to find something, anything to do.
For the first time in a long time, they are scared of losing someone.
"Fern, what do you need?"
I'll kill them all, Cel thinks to themself. Fury at the pain that someone they are so close to is going through. The fire's still visible from the cave.
All they want to do is hold the other, but they don't want to end up hurting them through holding them.
Tears are in Cel's eyes, as the smell of boiled blood and burnt flesh fill the cave.
"Anything, I'll do anything. I just need you to stay with me."
“I-” They start to speak but your voice cracks and they start to cough, only finding the ability to speak after a minute, with their voice sounding raspy.
“I n-need some fresh cloth to cover up the wounds, and some kind of s-salve to apply around it.” Fern advises as best they could, going into another coughing fit before adding on, “And if any of my forest is still burning, douse it out.”
Celine nods, calming down a bit with something to do.
"I'll be back in a few minutes with everything you need."
Rushing home with a bucket of water, they find some cloth and salve in the medicine cabinet (something she'd kept in the case that Grian needed it).
More fire, Celine growls a bit, rushing over to pour water on it, collecting it in the bucket again afterwards in case there's more.
When entering the cave, Cel gets to work applying the salve and dressing the wounds all over Fern.
"Please don't die on me," he whispers. Suddenly scared the other might vanish in an instant.
By the time they come back, some of the burn wounds have calmed down. Fern hisses a little in pain while Celine puts the salve on them and dresses their wounds.
Once Cel's done, all of Fern's legs have been wrapped, and all of their back. Parts of Fern's body have patches of tree bark on them, one on their upper arm, and the other on the side of their cheek.
The Fae's breathing has evened out more, but they just look... Out of it, like they were just barely keeping themselves conscious in that moment. With the only thing keeping them clothed being an old clergy cloak, they'd been given.
Celine hums a bit holding Fern close. Not wanting to let the other go in the fear they might disappear if he looks away.
"Would you like me to get you something else to wear with it?" They ask softly.
It smells of the confessional he'd passed by earlier, on the way to the castle.
Perhaps, when revenge was had, they'd spare the priest.
Fern leans into Cel’s hold on them, placing their head on his shoulder with a hum as they try to think through the fog of exhaustion that clouds their mind.
“That would be nice,” They say in whispered response, with their head starting to nod off, as if they were about to fall asleep.
Rummaging through their belongings that she'd grabbed from her house, Cel finds some looser clothing. They'd gotten it centuries ago when they'd escaped the asylum. It had been rather large for them to wear, but it looks like it would fit Fern. A shirt and some pants, nothing to fancy. But they at least felt comfortable to the touch.
Setting it aside for the other, they whisper softly. "Here, these are for you. Would you like some help getting into them?"
"I think... I got it." They speak in a quiet, raspy voice as they gently take the clothes with their vines.
Unclasping the cloak around them reveals a gaping hole in Fern's chest, showing their ribs and internal organs, except one thing was missing, which was their heart. Looking like the muscles around where it should be have tunneled deep into Fern's chest, but nowhere obvious.
They slip on the pants with ease, but they struggle a little with figuring out where to put their limbs in the shirt.
And with a grimace, they say in defeat, "Actually... Maybe not..."
Cel hums softly, reaching over to help guide Fern into wearing the shirt properly.
While curious about the heart, he knows that now is probably not the time to ask. Perhaps in a few days when everything has died down.
After the shirt is put on, Cel positions the both of them to be comfortable on the floor, with Fern leaning on her.
"Why don't we rest for a bit, I'll keep an eye out. Make sure no one comes by."

Hi I'm back! I should be a bit more active this week. There are some rp asks I sent that I don't know how or if I should continue the storylines since Celine's storyline is currently past that?
I'm not going anywhere with the end of the series. It's just the start of a new adventure.
Also the reason it's taken me so long to do IC stuff is a mix of personal things coming up And me deciding: Let's figure out how to release music :3
