What if Doom Guy did tear himself out of the picture because he couldn't bear seeing himself happy? What if he thinks he doesn't deserve to be alongside them in the picture because he failed them? What if he hates himself so much he can't stand seeing even pictures of himself because all they do is remind him of how much he's been through and everything he's lost? All the things he could have saved if he was just faster, stronger, smarter- better. And he wasn't. And he can't look at that picture or himself because all he sees is the failure he is and all the lives he's lost- the most important ones right there staring back at him.

This bad boy can fit so much psychological trauma in him :)
