My oc, Rose.

On her prom she walked out of the place, where it was hosted, sad, after she didn't get the Prom Queen title. And a guy she rejected came up to her with a gift, a shiny brooch in the shape of a four pointed star. "Press on the gem.", he said, and reluctantly she did. It started shining brightly, "It's beautiful..", she whispered. But it quickly got brighter and brighter until she couldn't look at it anymore, so she closed her eyes.

When she opened her eyes she found herself in an empty endless white space. With nothing but a red door. She didn't want to open the door, it was so big and red, she thought it to be suspicious. So instead she walked. She walked and she walked but she always found her way back to that red door, as if she's been walking in circles. When she couldn't walk anymore she fell to her knees and started crying. "Why? Why am I here?", she thought, "Is this a nightmare? Just a bad dream?". Unfortunately for her it wasn't, it was very real, as real as not getting that shiny prom queen crown after working so hard for everything to be perfect. A class president, a valedictorian, straight A's, perfect gpa. She thought that getting that title would be nothing compared to everything she already achieved. But no. Her best friend got it instead. And she was happy for her, she truly was, but she couldn't help but think that it should've been her on that stage, giving a speech of how special it is to her, how she dreamed of it since she was a little girl. And then she had to get stuck here, wherever "here" is. Be cursed the guy that gave her the brooch.

After hours of crying and feeling sorry for herself she slowly stood up and looked at the red door with determination. Her shaking hand reached out for the handle, she closed her eyes for a second and breathed in, then breathed out, opened her eyes and slowly opened the door before walking through it.

Beyond that door was some other place she didn't recognize, it looked weird and alien to her, nothing she's ever seen before. Certainly not the Earth she knows. Rose didn't realize it yet but she actually was on another planet, or should I say another universe. Yes, that's right, that red door led her to a parallel universe. Moreover, it let her possess the body of her parallel self from that universe.

And ever since this day she would be able to go to that white space with a red door once every few months. And each time it would lead to another parallel universe, and another planet so different from hers.

Until something weird happened about a decade later. Like always the timer on the brooch reset, letting her go back to the white space, and like always she walked through that door. At first she didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, just another world about which she doesn't know anything. But not so long after something caught her eye. A banner that said "Never forget our hero. May she rest in peace.", with a woman on it, looking so much like her. "Maybe it's my parallel self's twin?", she thought as she looked down at the puddle below her and saw her own reflection. No, it didn't look just like her, it looked exactly like her. The hair, the earrings, everything was identical, except maybe for the clothing. Is her parallel self dead? No, that can't be. It never happened before, how could she possess a dead body?..
