Volkner crossed his arms over his chest, chuckling, “You’d think you were his Trainer.” Raichu paid him no heed, instead eagerly soaking up every ounce of attention that Flint bestowed upon him. The interaction between them is endearing as it always is, but of course he doesn’t comment on that. He was happy to stand back and watch, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
”Rai, rai!” Raichu agreed heartily. He leapt out of Flint’s arms, using his the tip of his tail to balance himself as he his feet hit the ground.
Volkner had to admit, a good old fashioned barbecue on the beach with his best friend sounded mighty appealing; much more than spending the remainder of the day cooped up inside his workshop. Besides, he was sure they were both starving at this point — their stomachs had been vocal enough in that regard. The sooner things got going, the better.
“Just give me a couple of minutes to change and grab the food,” Volkner said. “And then we’ll head down. Usual spot?” He didn’t need to wait for an answer, knowing full well that Flint would agree without hesitation. He slipped into the workshop once again, heading to the small laundry room tucked into a tiny corner.
He changed into a simple black t-shirt, loose navy pants and gray flip flops. Overall, not bad for an afternoon on the beach considering temperatures in Sunyshore weren’t too hot this time of year. He grabbed the cooler and plastic bag containing the food he’d prepared earlier and emerging into the Gym’s main room where he found Raichu keeping Flint plenty company.
“Alright, let’s go,” he called, waving to them with his free hand. “D’you wanna stop and get the beer first?” Raichu bounds towards him excitedly, grabbing at the plastic bag with his paws. Volkner let go of it, allowing the Electric-type to carry it.
