[ steven strait | he/him | twenty-three/1000+ ]  rumor has it that kol mikaelson has been seen wandering around town. they are a original vampire who is one of the survivors. they are known to be volatile but deep down they are chivalrous. when it comes to the brewing conflict in new orleans they’re on the side of the queens resistance

“You know what else isn’t nice? Possessing someone,” he stated flatly, knowing that Kol would probably find it humorous. At being called a coward, he simply rolled his eyes and tried his best to keep his composure. “Do you even feel a hint of guilt for ripping me away from my family? Anything?!” he yelled, hoping to see a glimpse of humanity in him. “I didn’t even get to say goodbye to my son because of you and your mother”

he had figured kaleb would have found kol dying a terrible death through finns’ curse to be justice enough. i guess, that had not been enough for the witch. what did he want from him? a lengthy and deep-felt apology? he was facing kol mikaelson, though. deep-felt apologies were not his thing. 

“ come on, kaleb, grow the fuck up. you are not the only victim here. “ he retaliated, rolling his eyes. “ do you want to blame someone and get an apology? i will gladly take you to esther herself. i will warn you, though, she can be a cold-hearted bitch. “

“I should hope so,” Davina scoffed playfully, catching the bartender’s eye.  “See this guy?  Showing off like he’s buying a stranger a drink when he’s really just buying one for his wife.  Shameful, honestly.”  Leaning over on her stool she pressed a kiss to Kol’s cheek.  “You’re in good spirits tonight.”

a genuine surprise ran through his body at the sight of his beloved wife. kol was aware that davina was gonna join him in new orleans, but he had been unaware it would be this soon. not that he minded. for lack of better words, he had missed her. his lips split into a smile right before davina planted a kiss on his lips. that was not enough for him, though. when davina pulled away, he immediately cupped her face between his hands and brought her in for another deeper kiss. “ see this girl? she deprived her husband of her presence for too long. plain evil, honestly. “ he teased back once he pulled away. “ when did you get to town, love? “

“That’s because you’re on the approved list,” Hope shot back as she buttoned her shirt before turning to face him.  “If you weren’t they’d have been much more aggressive and I’d have had dead guard, which is exactly what I don’t need right now.”  She flashed a smile at her uncle.  “You know I’m not allowed to talk to you without adult supervision, right?  Aunt Freya made that rule, so you’ll have to take it up with her.”

She stepped closer, smile never fading, and pulled him into a hug.  “Hey, Uncle Kol.  How are you?”

“ you wound me, love. you are telling me it’s not my devilish good looks and persuasive words that convinced them? “ he replied, placing a hand against his heart, feigning being hurt. that wicked smile that he was known for greeting his niece. kol had calmed down a little upon marrying davina, but everyone knew that he was always up to no good. he was the fox of the family, after all. so, at the mention of freya’s suppose rules he could not help but roll his eyes. “ come on, hope, where is the fun in following old freya’s rules? “ he replied. 

taking the young girl into his arms and giving her a firm hug. he had grown fond of hope over the years. “ well, my wife is refusing to come into town because well...--- its new orleans. an a old and a new mikaelson enemy is threatening to destroy us. so, i guess, i’m just dandy. just the usual around here. “ there was a sense of sarcasm in his response. “ you? “

“That it is - perhaps impressive might have been a better word.  Growing in the city, even in these green spaces, is no easy task.  Three hundred years of pollution, logging, lightning strikes…any number of thing might have befallen my sister, but there she stands as proud as ever.  Something to be admired in that.”

Hazel reached out to take his hand, shaking it firmly.  “Hazel.  It’s lovely meeting you, Kol.”

he took her hand and gave a firm shake. kol just could not help but laugh at her explanation. was she really that oblivious to his words? he wasn’t quite sure if to find her innocence annoying or amusing. “ ...---- sure. “ he finally replied, not knowing what else to say to hazel. he knew witches had a connection to nature, but he had never seen one to this level. it made him wonder if she was a witch at all or something else. “ let’s not beat around the bush, darling. i saw what you did to the tree. you a witch of some sort? “ he stepped forward, eyes motioning towards the area she had cleaned up. 

Jackson had gone still the moment he heard Kol’s voice, looking up curiously.  Obviously he’d half-expected the remainder of the family to show up at some point, but from what Hayley’d told him Kol could be somewhat mercurial when it came to his siblings.  “Well, I ain’t gonna turn it down.”

kol waved to the bartender to get jackson whatever he desired. he recognized him. how could he forget the face of the one who had played a part in resurrecting him. taking a sip from his own drink before speaking out again. “ you’re that lad that hayley married. “ it was more a statement than a question. “ i see she has a type. “ kol added with a laugh, sipping on his drink. 

Josie wasn’t much of a drinker outside of the occasional party, but at the offer where she figured she could try her luck and actually get served, she wasn’t exactly going to turn it down. “I guess i’ll take a beer?” Her brow creased as soon as the words left her lips and she turned away to mutter ‘oh my god’ under her breath for acting sketchy, before looking back to the vampire and correcting herself. “What I meant to say was, i’ll take a beer. Please.”

kol noticed her awkwardness right away. he was a lot of things, but dumb and oblivious was not one of them. the brunette looked underage and clearly not in her usual environment. luckily for josie, kol was not a rule follower. his devious self would be the one to condone underage drinking. “ beer it is. “ he turned around to get the beer for her and handing it to her. “ i am more of a whiskey person myself. “ kol added. not being able to take his eyes off of her. she looked familiar. he knew he had seen her somewhere. “ you look quite familiar. have our paths crossed before? “ 

Klaus’ lips twitched within his amusement and  a soft ‘ah’ eased from his lips “and here Iwas thinking that you would at least pretend to have missed me” he teased witha sly smile. Satisfaction ensued as Klaus sauntered closer and approachedfrom behind as his brother compelled the bar staff. His gaze narrowed as hereached out his hand to place against Kol’s shoulder “as much as I’m certainyou would enjoy to hear that it has, I’m afraid my death has had quite theopposite effect.” As he removed his hand he took a seat beside his sibling, just as their drinks were placed between them “no wife? Don’t tell me, trouble in paradise already?”

kol could not help but chuckle. klaus was as cocky as ever, but kol was not surprised. “ only klaus mikaelson would die an honorable death and still claim he’s the devil. but i guess...--- “ he spoke in a taunting tone. almost like daring klaus to show he had not gone soft with death. “ we shall see. “ despite them constantly bickering at each other, there was a bond between the two. the two lunatic brothers. kol remembered the days when klaus would follow him in his devious games. he made a small pause to take a sip from his whiskey. “ now, nik, as much as i am certain you would enjoy to hear that there is trouble in paradise, i am afraid that there is not. davina sends her regards, sort of. “ he laughed. “ can’t blame her for staying away from his city. “ kol added, finishing his drink in a gulp. 

The devilish smirk was instantaneous to match Ramona’s energy and she was hardly going to suppress her amusement, “I prefer if nobody say’s that nowadays” she taunted, her scarlet lips pursing as she placed her purse down onto the bar top and placed her hand into Kols, “Ramona.”

a soft chuckle left his parted lips at her taunting. he always did love someone that could match his energy. kol took her hand into hers and teasingly brought it to his lips to press them against her skin. never breaking eye contact. he spoke upon releasing ramonas’ hand. “ care for a drink, ramona? “ he offered. “ surprised we’ve never met. are you new to town? “ 

Willow gave the man a small tight lipped smile as she took the dispenser. “Thanks, I guess I don’t know my own strength.” she responded with a laugh. It wasn’t a complete lie; she truly didn’t know just how much being a vampire changed her strength. “I should probably figure it out before I get banned for breaking everyone’s cups.”

dark eyes examined the blonde. his head tilted in interest as he sipped on his own coffee. “ because that would be quite a shame. “ he replied quite sarcastically, a devilish smile following his statement. “ your own strength is a tricky thing. either you fear it or...--- embrace it.” he added. “i don’t think we’ve formally met. i am kol mikaelson. “ kol finished off, extending a hand towards the girl. 

“Lec tare sel vipre” he said as a wall came crumbling down, creating a barrier between the two. It was abandoned and nobody was around so he didn’t exactly care. “You don’t deserve an ounce of respect, you should go back to hell and rot, Mikaelson,” he spat.

the sudden drop of the wall took him by surprise. he had almost forgotten the little twat was a witch. “ that’s not very nice, kaleb. “ he taunted the male through the wall. “ i’m a little disappointed. i did not take you for a coward. “ he began to pace up and down. getting restless with the wall keeping him from reaching kaleb. “ little pig, little pig, let me come in. “ he continues to taunt him by quoting the big bad wolf. “ or i’ll huff and i’ll puff and blow your house in. “

Despite their past differences, Klaus was grateful to have been reunited with his sibling given the current circumstances. He was aware of Kol’s involvement in caring for his daughter after he had died, a debt that he felt he wouldn’t be able to repay. “If me dying was all it took for you to reach your hand into your pocket, i’d have done it a lot sooner, brother.”

kol could not help but laugh at his brother's statement. perhaps klaus dying was all it took to bring the family together. hell, if the big bad klaus mikaelson could die an honorable death, then maybe there was hope for kol. “ who said anything about emptying out my pockets for you, brother. “ he replied, turning away from kol and towards the bartender. staring right into the bartenders eyes, kol order him to continue giving them drinks without charging them, even if they drank the place dry. once he was done with the compulsion he turned back to niklaus. “ i’m guessing you can still keep up. unless death has made you...--- soft. “

Ramona’s scarlet lips pursed within intrigue as her dark hues glanced the male up and down, “feeling generous, are we?” she retorted, before gesturing for the bartender to fix her the same drink. “I appreciate the offering.”

kols’ lips twisted into his devilish smirk at the sight of the beautiful brunette next to him. “ call it that or boredom. whatever...--- how do they say it nowadays? “ he lingered off for dramatic effect. “toots your horn. kol mikaelson. “ he extended his hand to greet the other. 

Aydin was sat at the bar with a beer in hand and sipped at it lost in his thoughts. It was only when he heard another that he was pulled back to reality. He glanced across and smiled a little. “Oh, Thanks…” he started. “Mine was almost empty too.” he stated.

kol clearly ignored his expressed gratitude. anyone that knew kol would know that he was not doing this out of the kindness of his heart. it was pure boredom, and the stranger just happened to be his distraction. " new to town? “ he asked, not recognizing him at all.

Looking into the shop window, he sighed, “still can’t get over the fact that bastard left a scar on me,” he said as he rubbed a finger over the scar that had been placed there by Esther and Finn. “I was doing perfectly fine on my own and then I had to get bloody possessed,” he scoffed, “sure it’s been a decade but I’m still pretty miffed about it”
