YOU'RE SO RIGHT YOU'RE SO RIGHT he likes you so much, he's so nervous about doing something wrong and potentially scaring you off or making you think that he's just involved with you for sex. and when you do move his hand to your waist or place it on your thigh, he just turns it into something sweet and starts idly tapping his fingers or massaging or smoothing his thumb over it and THAT'S IT. and to make matters so much worse for you, whenever he does get swept up in kissing you and things DO finally start to pick up, he always catches himself and breaks away with an awkward laugh and an apology.

he's so much more quietly observant than he lets on. he'd notice the way you stare just a bit too long at your reflection, eyes critical and expression without a hint of satisfaction. he'd notice the way you keep tugging the waistband of your pants up over your lower stomach, posture tense as if you sense someone's attention on you. he'd notice when you're reluctant to wear anything other than baggy clothes and get embarrassed when your friends try to redirect you to more revealing clothing. even when you think you're alone in the silence of your room, he'd linger outside your ajar bedroom door, listening to you pick yourself apart, grumbling and sighing as you analyze everything you deem an imperfection. he just picks up on things quickly.
