The Japanese tend to visualize the personality of the character. This is due to the fact that in anime stylistics there are no facial features, so the characters are solid abstraction and things like palette, shape and accessories help to accentuate the individuality of the character.

Chiaki's palette consists of cool, dim colors. In spite of the light colors, dark colors still prevail. Even the hair has a dirty gray hue. Pink inserts do not cut the eyes, as pastel shade, which suits the imperturbable disposition and illusory image of the heroine.

But I'm more impressed by the little things, like the long sleeves. It's as if they illustrate Nanami's closed nature (adding a kind of gracefulness), and the hood is like a protective cocoon from the world. At the same time, the designers don't forget the gamer symbolism. Galaga's spaceship barrette is a good reference, proving that the girl's talent isn't just a sound. In general, the characters making the references are somewhat local, but it gives them originality.

Her hair looks disheveled, again drawing attention to her talent and, I assume, to Chiaki somewhat absent-mindedness. Her cottage comes to mind, which is difficult to call neat.

The shape of Chiaki eyes is not sharp (compared to Kiri), rounded. That's why, the gaze looks so tired-apathetic, even somewhat lifeless.
