I watched The Black Phone with my friend last night and we both loved it, so, naturally decided to go online and explore the fandom.  I’m not lying when I tell you I CRIED out of anger at the literal second post I saw. 

It was a picture of The Grabber when he tried to play naughty boy the first time, and the caption had something to do with Finny being ‘lucky to have those pillows all to himself’, referencing The Grabber’s chest and stomach. One of the comments said Finny was being fucking greedy for not sharing. And, like I said, it was genuinely so insensitive and disgusting that I cried.

I don’t understand how people can sit here and post shit like that online. I don’t understand how you can sit here and make a post like that. If Finny couldn’t hear shit from that phone he would have been sexually assaulted and killed like all of the rest of those boys, and it’s not something that anybody should be joking about, regardless if it’s fiction or not. 

Not only have I seen disgusting shit like that, but me and my friends have discovered that people genuinely believe that those boys were not being sexually assaulted, which astounds me. 

Some of youse need to actually pick up a book or go back to fourth grade ELA classes, because tell me why people can’t see what is set out right in front of them? You shouldn’t have to see a five minute scene of the grabber sexually assaulting someone. You shouldn’t have to when it’s  so heavily implied. 

If half of these people had any media literacy that would have picked it up. There were extremely obvious similarities to John Wayne Gacy. The Naughty Boy game should have been self explanatory. Just the way The Grabber was touching Finny that first time he came into the basement should immediately have turned anyone off. How many wounds did we see on Vance? Not many, right? So what did The Grabber ‘take his time with’

It is self explanatory, and people need to start using their brains.
